Thank you for posting actual amounts. No other animator I know of has done this. Your video is inspiring, mainly because the info about what RUclips payments can be like is so scarce. Also inspiring because you decided to just start posting not because of the possibility of making some money, because you liked to.

There’s a lot of mystery around RUclips still for what you can make as an artist/animator - especially because animation takes so long it’s difficult to make good content quickly enough to take advantage of what can be a regular stream of income! I like seeing the insight into these kind of stuff. Seeing when you first got monetized and showing the statistics is pretty helpful in gauging how one preforms on RUclips when they're new to monetization. Thanks for the insightful video.

I'm quite inspired. I feel like I might start doing youtube, at least as an experiment but hopefully more than just that. Apart from the money aspect, making youtube vids would be quite fun.
I love making videos!! And being able to chat with everyone and have total creative freedom is amazing. I’d 100% recommend starting a channel, best thing I ever did!

( because i know for sure instagram doesn't worth it ! At least, i know with Ytb, videos lives are longer ! ) And i can have a good idea on what we could get the first years !

Thanks for sharing ant!! The wild thing about RUclips is that it varies so much for every person, what they post, who watches it, where they are… 😅 it’s also tough mixing what you want to post with what does well to make up the views if you want to do it as a ‘job’

Wow! In march 2021 i quit my 9 to 5 to make RUclips videos. I was literally just about to give up now i kinda feel like I should hang in there.😅😅
There’s nothing wrong with having a 9-5 and doing RUclips on the side especially if you need the regular income BUT definitely don’t give up if you enjoy it! Keep making good stuff and you’ll get there :)

how much tax do you pay?
In the uk you have to earn over a certain amount to pay tax and my RUclips stuff contributes to what I earn freelance etc so it all goes as one thing. I think the uk has a tax treaty w the US so I don’t think there are any extra fees for my RUclips income?
so why do you keep hiding videos?
woudn't you make more money if you just kept them up?
the videos are unlisted because they're either not relevant to the channel or didn't do super well -- speed paints and 'update' videos mostly :) It's just a way to keep the channel clean. I don't hide videos anymore because the quality is higher and I know what I want to do with the channel now - I tried quite a few different things in the beginning so it feels more organised!

i would make more videos, grow my channel, maintain upload schedule and all that but i have covid so thats fun :)

Imagine 😂 honestly everything I make goes back into the channel so I can make more videos and then I take on freelance jobs so I can pay for responsible things and then come back to making RUclips stuff 😅

haha! Pretty much! At the moment if you post RUclips shorts it's like £0.004 😅 hoping that'll change quite a bit when they release the ad revenue split next year!!
