I’ve been blaring this ever since I got the news. This pain is like no other. But I’ll rise above this, it’s what she would want.

Losing the people you love is our hardest test in life. How do you go on living with what you've lost? My mother fought a very heartbreaking battle with cancer, and she couldn't make it through. Since then, the rest of the family has lost touch, I don't hear from them anymore, and I'm sure that life is just not the same for any of us. Been trying to "mend myself before it gets me" but everyday is such a struggle. This song is so sad but so beautiful at the same time. Days like today I just have to listen to it and remember that she'd want me to continue living my life and embrace all my blessings and happy days.

I had an anoxic brain injury almost two years ago. I have suffered from afasia along with other emotional issues as a result from the brain injury. In my scattered mind, I could not remember the "song about a family member committing suicide." I remember that it was always a very emotional/touching song to me. After a car ride home from one of my therapists, IT CAME ON! My therapists wanted me to see a psychiatrist to ward off the suicidal tendency's that often accure to brain injury patients. Coincidence, or someone talking to me? I always loved this song, and now it has a special meaning to me.

It tells you that you want more than what you've got, deserve more than what you've got, and you want things to be better, yourself be better. Any (wo)man who cannot evalute themselves through a suicidal thought has not yet lived with meaning.
