HELP - reaching out for answers, as this is getting frustrating. In a nutshell, HDR on ps5 on my TCL tv only works "sometimes". Has nothing to do with the HDR settings. It's some sort of tv/ps5 hdr connection issue. So, "sometimes" when I fire up my ps5 with HDR on it works correctly, colors are all there etc. looks fantastic. Other times when I turn on the ps5, the HDR is slightly washed out and easy to tell. Keep in mind, this happens without changing any settings. The only way to get the HDR back to "normal" is to either reset the ps5 multiple times or turn HDR on and off again multiple times in the ps5 display menu until in "catches" and displays correctly. I would say the HDR displays correctly about 30% of the time when I turn on my tv and ps5. I usually have to reset or keep messing with that HDR on/off option to get it to kick in and display correctly. WHY IN THE HECK IS IT DOING THIS?? On Xbox to get to 2000 nits it takes 34 clicks and that is with the little HDR nit information up in the top right that you can enable. With this the checkerboard is still visible but not by a whole lot. On a HDTVTest video I watched, he said because of how Samsung is it's best to do the same amount of clicks for both consoles. The issue is on PS5, the sun logo disapears after 24 clicks and not 34 like the Xbox. Am I doing it wrong?

Hello, I have a 55 inch qn90b TV. When Hgig is on, I need to make it 19-19-0, is that correct? I also keep it in hdr base in games. Should I turn on Hgig?
Shouldn't you just turn HGIG on and clip the sun? So you are using the full range of the tone mapping they have at play because HGIG isn't perfect on anything right now. Wouldn't setting it lower than that decrease the brightness in the highlights. Because according to the tone mapping. Not what the panel can actually do but, wouldn't you be telling it by putting the correct "1000" be halving what the tvs tone mapping thinks it is because it thinks "2200" or whatever on the S95B is.... is max "1000" so telling it "1000" would actually be around 500nits in the tone mappings eyes. Otherwise the sun would of clipped ?
I can’t even get my ps5 to work with my QN95B. Just keeps a saying HDMI no signal. Spent awhile with Samsung techs on the phone and no solution. Did you have to do anything special to get it working?
Hm so i have the qn90a but before i matched in clicks the value of 1000 nits, and now i followed the video and adjusted to 18 clicks which is 1500 nits, problem is i see no difference in games, is it because almost all games will not go over 1000 nits anyway?

@Fahad alKhabani I too did research and again, have gotten my Xbox calibrated with bright colors, excellent blacks and whites, lowest input lag, and its incredibly smooth. I'd swear my ps5 feels a gen behind when I'm doing the same thing. On my ps5 I run 15/15/0 for its hdr calibration. I find with contrast enhancer high, color space normal, and gamma turned up to 2, on warm2, I can get a descent quality image. But then when I play my Xbox I realize how much worse it looked on the ps5. Any help is appreciated.
@@jmay5583 for contrast enhancer I go off, color space auto, gamma I actually turned it to -2 in my opinion it is as close to accurate as I could. Also on warm 2 For the ps5 hdr calibration I went 20/20/0. I would say the biggest changes I did to get the perfect picture was closing contrast enhancer and changing the gamma. Try it out and let me know if you like it!
@Fahad alKhabani only thing I didn't try before was color space on auto. The reason being that I heard the auto feature wasn't working properly with s95b
Great video. Some people say the HGIG option on the QN90A is pointless since you can't turn dynamic tone mapping off regardless. What's your opinion on this?
Does your tv also change colours when local dimming is set to standard or high? In The Division 2 parts of the HUD which are orange become yellow when rendered against dark background. In FarCry in game menu's purple colour becomes gray etc
still wondering this. im going with hgig anyway it looks like it is less variety in brightness that way, so you get more stable hdr picture, so id like to think hgig still helps even if you cant disable dtm. unless this f's up what the TV expect, as it expect DTM picture... dunno im no expert.
I feel like 15 is good for the full field. But wouldn’t 17-18 be better for the smaller window? After all that’s was setting the sun values and all right? I’ve seen the s95b reach 1550 supposedly in small windows. I feel like 15, 18, 0 would be the best match, no?
Why would you need to set it to a value of clicks which by far doesnt make the TV output at it's max brightness? The TV may have a peak luminance of say 1500 nits, but if feeding it a 1500 nits signal doesnt make it operate at 1500 nits, why would that be the way to go? If the TV for some dumb reason needs the full 10.000 nits signal to push itself to 1500 nits, wouldn't that be simply whats needed? HDR is such a shitshow btw. Better off just using SDR untill everyone gets their shit together and starts implementing it in a correct plug and play way.

I have a 4-SERIES TCL 50" CLASS 4-SERIES 4K UHD HDR LED SMART ANDROID TV - 50S434.
I have absolutely no issues with my Xbox Series X HDR on this same tv. Just ps5. Thanks in advance for answers.
The only way I can get HDR working correctly between the QN90B and the PS5 is to make sure you launch the PS5 app on the Samsung TV to switch to PS5
Same issues on my samsung au9000 and tcl c635 on my ps5 ... Fix ?!
what's the peak brightness for QN90C 50 inch VA Panel? is it 1700nits same as QN90B?
Hello, can i kindly ask you this setting are good for a LG QNED? If not, could you please help me? Thanks in advance and good day!!!
I have a question i have a ps5 and want to know wat tv will be best a 4k with HDR or a plane 1080p tv
Hello, was hoping you could tell me if something is wrong. I got the new 2023 QN95C Samsung Neo QLED which has 2000 nit peak brightness.
Try 14 click in ps5
Everybody wants to see q70a settings. We are waiting for it, please!❤
Ive been everywhere looking for the settings for the q70a still nothing
I have the oled G9 monitor and it takes 30 clicks to get the sun not visible
29 clicks I can’t see the Sun until I get extremely close to monitor and then I can see a partial circle
28 I can see it from a fair distance
I’m I doing it wrong since this is a QDOLED monitor ?
But I’ve got hdr tone mapping to active
I messed around with my hdr so much I forgot where the out of the box standard ps5nsetting was before doing any clicks for the 3rd screen the dark screen. Do you remember for the 3rd screen what to go to to get back to 0 so I can do nothing?
Just do settings reset. And don’t touch anything when it asks to set brightness/hdr. Just turn on hgig. I think ps5 default values are the best.
Does this also apply for the Samsung Q60A tv? I am trying to calibrate HDR for it. Help would be appreciated!
Big question and please help me soon as possible i have an issue when i adjusting the hdr i have the s95b by the way so when iam adjusting the hdr there is the first one 1-2 and 3 the dark calibration At the second iam adjusting it and when i finish adjusting and come back to the adjust hdr over again the second Its like resets by itself ineed to click alot to return it to the Barely visible Why is that
??
Can I make a request, since you are pro at this? I would like you to look at this when you got time.
I got QN90A TV , calibrated well, playin on game mode, etc. (and LG C1, but havent tested it yet since its in my living room).
And here's whats bugging me.
When I turn on my ps5 with settings on console HDR and DEEP COLOR OUTPUT ON, it seems HDR 4K isnt native. Its like its upscaled to 4k.
But when I turn my console with HDR OFF and DEEP COLOR OUTPUT ON, and then I turn HDR ON, i get native 4K HDR picture.
Its more detailed and sharper.
Is this the case only with QN90A, or is it with everyone else?
Cheers mate
You just saved my tv 🥺 I did this and my hdr punch came back in
I’m confused on what your saying. I have the same tv
Hello, I have a 55 inch qn90b TV. When Hgig is on, I need to make it 19-19-0, is that correct? I also keep it in hdr base in games. Should I turn on Hgig?
The TV is a TCL C755 TV and the member control is 1300. Can someone help me with the number of clicks or what I should do?
Hi, is turning on HDR games not turning on HGIG? (Q70C)
When adjusting hdr contrast enouncer should be turned off?
Yes
Wie sieht es mit den q90r aus? Bei der 2. Kalibrierung geht man erst ganz nach oben und dann zählt runter?
What about in a sony tv
Hi, do you know if this amount of clicks apply for PS4 HDR system level calibration? Thanks.
What is it for lg c1?
Kannst du mir die Einstellungen für folgenden TV geben Samsung ue 75 ru7179uxg
Hello. Great stuff again, full stop. ;) Can i leave hdr game option even when game do not support hgig?
Thanks. Yes leave it on !
I can’t even get my ps5 to work with my QN95B. Just keeps a saying HDMI no signal. Spent awhile with Samsung techs on the phone and no solution. Did you have to do anything special to get it working?
Just saw your other video where you mention you'll be doing videos how to set up HDR for these TVs. So I assume Xbox gets a seperate video?
Hm so i have the qn90a but before i matched in clicks the value of 1000 nits, and now i followed the video and adjusted to 18 clicks which is 1500 nits, problem is i see no difference in games, is it because almost all games will not go over 1000 nits anyway?
I have a QN90B. I am correct that with 19 clicks I am way past the visible sun on the first 2 screens? Around 15 clicks the sun is already invisible. I still need to keep clicking up till 19 after that part? EDIT: in Hogwarts with 19 clicks it shows 1740 nits.
Someone knows how many clicks for the S95B since 1520 firmware update please ? 🙏
In 1304 firmware I put 16/16/0
But now in 1520 I really don’t know… 🤔
In worst case just follow the instructions on the screen
@@GamingTech-RUclips Thanks a lot for your answer 🙏
But the S95B always does tone mapping… 😩 like all Samsung TVs, so for The 1st and 2nd screen if I just follow the instructions it’s not going to be The same number of clicks… if I follow The instructions it will be 20/16/0 and it seems really bizarre for me since I have watched every of your videos about HDR calibration on Playstation ! 😅 Please tell me if I’m wrong, thanks again ! 😁👍
@@GamingTech-RUclips In my first commentary I forgot to say that I enabled HGiG on my S95B before I did my HDR calibration, sorry
Hi I hope you're all doing well! Please could someone tell me how many clicks I have to use for the Q900B 75inch. I am frustrated because I thought it's necessary to click until the sun disappears to get the best HDR. I hope someone can help me.
So if my samsung q80b has peak brightness is 1500 nits then step 1 and 2 will be 18 steps in HGIG mode enabled? Although the sun disappears in 17 steps on both steps and becomes barely visible in 16 steps so which is right?
I know this is a late reply, but how many inches is your TV? The 43 and 50 inch variants have lower peak brightness, so I read somewhere they have to be set on about 15 clicks.
@@ivayloborov3462 its 65 inches
Congrats for your content, mate! One question please: I have a qn90b firmware 1430. Regarding Picture Settings, should I disable both HDR10+ gaming and Game HDR? Do the 19 clicks on ps5 apply to all cases? Thanks!
How many clicks for the Q70A please?
How many clicks by Samsung Qn800A?
Would really appreciate a video like this for the C1, can't get HDR right there either
HDTV Test has done CX/C1 for HDR brightness with PS5, forget the number off the top of my head but you basically go 1 above where the sun disappears
why for me it is 16 clicks on Samsung QN90B? is this correct? I did all your recommended settings for the Tv.
Thanks!
it should be around 19 clicks
@@GamingTech-RUclips my model is 50’. On 16 click is not visible for me. 🤷
@Alex Zecha maybe the 50inch version has a lower peak brightness
So 20 steps for non calibrated & 20 doesn't make it barely visible for qn90a
Grazie
How many clicks would be ideal for my 75” qn900b? I measured 2450 nits in a 10% window in filmmaker mode with local dimming on high (accurate).
Have you figured out an answer ? Im dying trying to find an answer. I have same size. I use movie mode and high local dimming. Contrast enhancer off
For the Xbox series X? How many?
I have CX oled also but when QN90A went on sale i went back playing on led or mini led, CX oled is great overall but HGIG is too dim for me.unlike in samsung HGIG is much brighter better shadow details.
Are all these settings recommended for the QN90B?
Yes
@@GamingTech-RUclips Are you able to give me recommendations for the Xbox series X HDR calibration? Thank you in advance!
Damn dynamic tone mapping, if I knew this before I wouldn't have bought the 2020 Q90T. HDR is never the way it should be, even after HGIG implementarion.
Hello Amok. I just got a 43" QN90B and according to RTINGS the peak brightness of this size is about 1,009 cd/m2 on a 25% window. How many clicks should I set it to? Thank you. Love your work btw. Keep it up. 👍👍
Try 15 or 16 clicks
@@GamingTech-RUclips Awesome! Thank you so much. 👍👍
What value for st.2084
Hey guys, is there any video recommendation regarding calibrating the QN90B correctly. I just got mine and I would like it calibrated. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.
I'm in the same boat. I've gotten it calibrated for my series x, but it look awful on my ps5 in comparison.
@@jmay5583 I actually calibrated my tv and the ps5. (Not with proper equipment but close enough with some research).
Let me know if you need any help. I will try my best to assist you
@Fahad alKhabani I too did research and again, have gotten my Xbox calibrated with bright colors, excellent blacks and whites, lowest input lag, and its incredibly smooth.
Also on warm 2
For the ps5 hdr calibration I went 20/20/0.
Anyone knows how many clicks for the samsung q70a?
@santimaio5483 This model always does the tonemapping and cant turn off
I DO NOT LIKE IT.... OK. lol brilliant 🤣. Thanks for the vid, will try them out on the s95 👍
Ciao io gioco da tv lg oled 55 pollici ho problemi con hdr setting e quanbdo gioco a warzon mi aiuti
I don t ha e the option High buy only st.2084
Ps5 hdmı earc bağlanırsa bi faydası veya zararı olurmu
How many steps for qn94a
Great video.
That’s why I got Lg
still wondering this. im going with hgig anyway it looks like it is less variety in brightness that way, so you get more stable hdr picture, so id like to think hgig still helps even if you cant disable dtm. unless this f's up what the TV expect, as it expect DTM picture... dunno im no expert.
How much for q70A
I have a 82inch LG tv and it took me 29 steps
Turn off DTM
I can’t use hgig
I use hgig and now it down to 14 clicks thank you good sir
I have a sony oled A1e, could you recommend adjustments for the PS5?
I feel like 15 is good for the full field. But wouldn’t 17-18 be better for the smaller window? After all that’s was setting the sun values and all right? I’ve seen the s95b reach 1550 supposedly in small windows. I feel like 15, 18, 0 would be the best match, no?
You keft hdr10+ on?
Should first screen not be lower than the first screen as the first screen is measuring 100% window and seconds screen 10% window?
Actually QN90B DOES support HGiG.
Sony Bravia x90l
Why would you need to set it to a value of clicks which by far doesnt make the TV output at it's max brightness? The TV may have a peak luminance of say 1500 nits, but if feeding it a 1500 nits signal doesnt make it operate at 1500 nits, why would that be the way to go? If the TV for some dumb reason needs the full 10.000 nits signal to push itself to 1500 nits, wouldn't that be simply whats needed? HDR is such a shitshow btw. Better off just using SDR untill everyone gets their shit together and starts implementing it in a correct plug and play way.
This is broken on the s95b and that's one of the reasons I return it
Clicks A-95L. 55...???help
