The issue with sharpness setting on Samsung is even at 0 there is undefeatable processing. Both sharpening and smoothing filters. No way to get a native neutral detail.
If I would leave sharpness at 0 with my PC connected I would end up with a total un-sharp picture. I tested so many test pictures and clearly 10 is the best setting for MY PC. If I use the same test pictures on the consoles 10 is way to sharp and it will add artifacts . Not sure what I am doing wrong or what is wrong here
@@GamingTech-RUclips yes on PC game mode there are 2 ways technically to get PC game mode on the TV. One of them 10 is similar to 0 on every other mode. Do you have any non 4k demo discs like Digital Video Essentials or Disney Wow? Those are good for upscale testing.
One thing about Samsung TV's. Turning auto-update off does not prevent you from getting your TV updated. As long as it is connected to the internet updates will still be forced by Samsung. The only way to prevent it is not to connect to the internet. Learned this the hard way on QN90A.
If you name the HDMI input PC which enable PC Mode, the correct/neutral sharpness is 10 on the Samsung QN95B, but if you don't enable PC Mode on any other HDMI input, 0 is the correct/neutral sharpness setting. My recomendation is to enable PC Mode on all HDMI inputs for the best picture quality and response times.
I learned how to calibrate my TV watching some of your videos and you’ve always been great with your information. I have a QN90A and since it’s less bright than your TV I had to go to 44 for brightness. Otherwise your settings are very close to mine. I also agree with what you say about sharpness. On my TV I found 10 was a bit high but 8 seemed to give my picture good clarity
In regard to local dimming set to high or standard. Have you noticed game HUD elements discoloration issue? On QN90A for example in Cyberpunk 2077 if the screen has a lot of dark elements, or dark elements directly behind the HUD the TV dimming algorithm will wash out the whole HUD making it dim and faded. The only mode to prevent it is on the LOW setting. I can even see the algorithm dimming TV's menu elements when you switch options in your video. It's when you have a small menu and are switching between standard and high local dimming options.
I wish samsung would fix the HGIG on their tvs.. the tv still does some dynamic tone mapping even with HGIG enabled so you're getting a double tone mapped imagine for gaming.

I have a Qn95A. These settings I also myself found to be good on QN95A, but right now I'm not so sure. Game HDR, it does some good, but also bad in my view. I'm still not sure about this one. Also lowering gamma -2, or -3 affects colors, I'm still not sure. It's more accurate but it's an S shape gamma. And sharpness finally I turned it off, for 1440p+ games. It adds noise and doesn't look that good. So I just lower the TV contrast and maybe play with in game brightness/gamma. SDR game mode is worse, overbrightened, not accurate. Mornings look like it's 13:00 o'clock. Samsung should do more for game mode.
Hey, love this video. Quick question, did you ever figure out the sharpness setting for game mode on console? It defaults to 10 (like you suggested is correct for pc gaming) but just wondering if you landed somewhere different?
6:25 Sharpness at 0 is the best when playing on a console. They are designed to have everything at 4k resolution so adding sharpness will make it look worse. You need sharpness at 10 on PC like you said because most things are 1080p.
@William LeGod Just the way it is. On PC the apps you use, browser and websites you visit arent 4k. Just 1080p. On PC if I dont have the sharpness at 10 everything is blurry and hard to read. That's why its perfect it to use it on PC but not on PS5 and Xbox.

I really like bigger TV's because they are more immersive there is not doubt about that, but I'm afraid 55 will be too big for desktop PC usage, not sure if I should go with LGs 48 inch C2 because of higher PPI and more fitting size for desktop usage, but for $120 more I can get a brand new 55 inch S90C which is better in terms of color and brightness because of the quantum dot panel, don't know man there are so many options, pros and cons for both Samsung and LG OLEDs. I have a 65" QN90B. The only significant difference in hardware is the lack of the OneConnect box mounted at the lower-center of the TV's back panel. All the inputs are in the right side as usual with Samsung. I honestly think the 90B is the better bang for the buck before diminishing returns, esp if you can get it at Black Friday prices.
Why would you compare it yo CX? It has washed colors being WOLED tv. Set color space to Native or, set color space to custom select bt2020 then again seitch yo normal, this improves tone mapping a lot. Just try to play a game and go to photo mode during and explosion or looking at the sky, switch color space to native and tone mapping will improve a lot, at expense of color accuracy. 0-20 on Samsung, so 4 is about 20%.

Thanks for sharing the settings I will try them
For the consoles try sharpness at 4. That’s what I use and find it perfect
Will test it!

I used most of your settings but I kept colour tone at standard as warm 2 was way too much.
Even Warm 1 was pushing it.
Thanks for the video 😊
I wish samsung would fix the HGIG on their tvs.. the tv still does some dynamic tone mapping even with HGIG enabled so you're getting a double tone mapped imagine for gaming.
Yes unfortunately this is happening
Hi there, please try for game mode hdr

Contrast 40
Sharpness 6-8 no more

Sharpness is best at 5
I have a Qn95A.
Most games on consoles are not native 4k though
@@DukeOfSera The PS5 UI and games have 4k in mind. Tho most games arent native 4k but they use checkerboarding to reach 4k.
@William LeGod Just the way it is. On PC the apps you use, browser and websites you visit arent 4k. Just 1080p. On PC if I dont have the sharpness at 10 everything is blurry and hard to read. That's why its perfect it to use it on PC but not on PS5 and Xbox.
@@doctorsilva1345 checkerboard sucks and on pc u can see 1440p resolutions too. Most high end pcs are on 1440p.

Hi 👋 GamingTech
Just one question.
I recently bought the S95B and was wondering how dim the image can get. Honestly I’m really disappointed, cause one of the reasons why I decided to Switch my LG C9 was the max peak brightness of the s95 but it gets really dark after 6 min of playing.
Does this also happens with you QN95?
Any advices would be really welcome 🙏🏻
Planing to return it and go with the QN95 but I’m really unsure 🫤
No no issue here with my QN95B. This sounds like you play games with a lot of static symbols. can you turn off logo diming?

S95B OLED 55 inch
S90C OLED 55 inch
C2 OLED 48 inch
QN95B mini-led 55 inch
Sony A80K OLED 65"

@GamingTech-RUclips is there any difference between S90C and S95B? Isnt the latter supposed to be better than S90C? have you ever used any 55 inch television with a computer?
Isn't 55 inch too big for desktop gaming? Although I have a big desk space I can easily place a 55 inch TV on it but I fear it might give me eye strain which I never experience not even in VR but some people on the internet say 55 inch television will give you eye strain not sure how true that is.
I also saw your videos praising the mini-led QN95B, is it even comparable to QD-OLEDs?
Appreciate you for responding brother, thank you for your help.

Most of the others use ST.2084 as +3 but u do -2. My TV is samsung q7. Could you help me pls?
Why would you compare it yo CX? It has washed colors being WOLED tv.
Set color space to Native or, set color space to custom select bt2020 then again seitch yo normal, this improves tone mapping a lot. Just try to play a game and go to photo mode during and explosion or looking at the sky, switch color space to native and tone mapping will improve a lot, at expense of color accuracy.
This kind of behaviour is happpening for years now
