I’ve haven’t heard of 야 해 before. Can you explain a little more about it? I assume it’s casual?

Yes it's casual way. If you wanna say polite way, just say 요 in the end. ~야해요. What have you heard then? They're saying ~해야돼요?or ~해야해요?

'가'야해 and '먹어'야해. 먹다 has batchim so it kinda difficult to say with sentence. English also same sometimes to say comfortable. I'd say 먹'어'야해 this 어 is kinda a oil to make smooth in a machine. And don't worry if it's too difficult. You can see many same things in korean sentences so you can get it automatically if you see many korean sentences. All language studying is same
