If you're still in Sri Lanka and planning to go towards Kandy, try and visit the Temple of the Tooth, The Embekka Temple and the Trinity College Chapel. They are good examples for Kandian Era Architecture.

I didn’t get to explore anywhere near Kandy nor anywhere south of Colombo unfortunately but it just gives me more reasons to go back, thank you!

There is an aquifer down below the rock of Sigiriya and due to the weight of the rich water gushed up. In ancient time it probably was a big stream but now flow is only a trickle.
As for the Apsaras the frescoes represent one of the scribbles says that they were the women who were in Kashyapa’s (the king) court including some from Greece.

      That’s super interesting mate!
Unfortunately they don’t let you take any videos or photos of the frescoes at Sigiriya so I didn’t want to be disrespectful by showing them here on RUclips. It seemed like a better secret for those who are adventurous enough to make the climb 😊

@@BlueprintBlogger there is a Greek (Ionian or Yonakas as mentioned in Texts) connection with the city of Anuradhapura where various items have been found 6m deep. Even the architecture of some ruins on ground level resembles to those in Greece and seen nowhere else. What is most interesting is the name ‘muta siva’ has found in a large rock inscription found only a couple of months ago. He was one of the sons of King Porus who had come to a place called Mangal Pura (Mangalore) a place near Bengaluru. So most probably there had been a North South mix both in India as well as Sri Lanka, it appears to me. That also explains the the wars our ancients got involved there, sometimes with help of South East Asian people, notably Sri Vijaya. King Porus’s children from Greek wife supposed have come with their helpers from that region and established colonies.

Please come back, and visit Kandy. Kandy is the only remining pre-colonial city in Sri Lanka, with the same historic street grid layout at the center. In my opinion it's the most stunning city in Sri lanka, at least the Lake area
