The notional boundaries of Tamil Elam came as far south as Puttalam in the west and Amparai in the east. So the war was not confined only to the north. Senior Superintendent of Police Upali Sahabandu, was targetted and assassinated while he was in Karativu south of Batticaloa. Prime Minister Ranasinghe Premadasa was also targetted and assassinated by the LTTE. Cabinet ministers and members of parliament who were assassinated are too many to list.

As a Sri Lankan, I can definitely say that even though statistics show that Sri Lanka may have high literacy rates, the majority of people are not well-educated. Most people may be able to read and write, but the quality of education is poor. This issue becomes more apparent at the university level, where it is clear that most individuals lack a deep understanding of their chosen fields. They often struggle to move forward and resort to unorthodox methods to pass their exams.
The country may be economically undeveloped but visit the country to see its beauty. It's a good unique feeling to inhale pure oxygen inside the rainforest! Pure air! Love my motherland as always, still we even have some things we haven't even known though we are Sri Lankan!🥰🥰

You have got to be joking. There is a ton of stories that male taxi drivers start hitting on solo women. Sri Lanka is a very dangerous place for solo native women I can assure you of that, not saying don’t travel there because they definitely need the tourists but it is extremely naive to believe it’s a safe place for solo women to travel in, at least the police may investigate an assault on a foreigner an assault on a Sri Lankan native women with no family they wouldn’t bother and I know that for a fact.

SL has doesn't have a tendency of harassment even though few weirdos can be found here and there like in any other place. I have been there number of times solo and I have received help but never harassments. True, some tuk tuk drivers try to overcharge you and sometimes scam you but it's significantly less compared to the other places. Most important thing is the Sri Lankan community looks after you once you are there so even if one tries to trouble you, a larger community has your back.

Sri Lankan Buddhists believe that Buddha on his third visit to this paradise, marked his sacred footprint on the top of a large gem on the top of this mountain peak as someone from Sri Lanka (Sumana Saman) asked the Buddha to do so after getting impressed by Buddha's preaching. Ancient Sinhalese scriptures like Mahavamsa, Samanthakutawarnana also mention that.

What a beautiful narrative about my country. Here's something that is not very much known. The Dutch made education for all citizens compulsory during their time and established the Roman Dutch law that British too implement. Free education was introduced during the British time. And what's more, the first Uni in Sri Lanka was established and opened by the late Duke of Edinburgh to be open more than usual. And that's where I, too, got free education until passing out with an engineering degree having the same level and recognition as one from Cambridge Uni. Thanks for the video.

Even Fahian, Hunathsaan the chinese monks in their inscrpts denoted its significance to Buddhists and at the time thiere were not Muslims or Christianity in Sr Lanka. All these came after the colonisation by Europeans about 500 years ago.
Wrong. Islam came to Sri Lanka directly from Arabia about 1000 years ago and Nestorian Christianity was practiced in Anuradhapura nearly 2000 years ago (as well as in nearby Kerala), both way before Western European colonialists arrived. Politicians have lied to you.

What a beautiful narrative about my country. Here's something that is not very much known. The Dutch made education for all citizens compulsory during their time and established the Roman Dutch law that British too implement. Free education was introduced during the British time. And what's more, the first Uni in Sri Lanka was established and opened by the late Duke of Edinburgh to be open more than usual. And that's where I, too, got free education until passing out with an engineering degree having the same level and recognition as one from Cambridge Uni.

Even Alaxander the Great also acknowledged Sripada (Fallsified as Adam's Peak) as the significant sacred relic of Lord Buddha about 2000 years ago. Even Fahian, Hunathsaan the chinese monks in their inscrpts denoted its significance to Buddhists and at the time thiere were not Muslims or Christianity in Sr Lanka. All these came after the colonisation by Europeans about 500 years ago.
Wrong. Islam came to Sri Lanka directly from Arabia about 1000 years ago and Nestorian Christianity was practiced in Anuradhapura nearly 2000 years ago (as well as in nearby Kerala), both way before Western European colonialists arrived. Politicians have lied to you.

Very nice informative video. However, the narration of Pinnawala elephant sanctuary being a controlled environment didn't match the video where the producer had taken a lot of effort to showcase the nuisance wild elephants are causing. Leaves the viewer a bit confused.
