Somewhere on Earth is off to Sri Lanka, the Sacred Island in Singhalese. It lies off the coast of India like a tear in the vast Indian Ocean. Its rich land and location have made it a coveted prize. After several centuries of European presence and internal conflicts, the island has now recovered its serene splendor.
Shina is a student in gemology. Fascinated by precious stones, she’s undertaking a journey to the heart of her land, to the origins of sapphires and rubies. She’s off to meet the miners who toil in the depths of the earth.
Jerome has flown with his balloon over the 4 corners of the globe. A childhood dream that now comes true in the early morning mists of Sri Lanka. Each flight is a release from earthly constraints. Jerome and his balloon drift with the wind to discover the wonders and people of this country.
Dhamma Dassi is a monk. A keeper of age-old wisdom, he writes the words of Buddha on an ancestor of paper. His spiritual quest has led him to the summit of Sri Pada, the "Sacred Mountain", a pilgrimage site for Buddhists as well as for other believers.

I heard about Sri Lanka. But I had no idea about this country. I thought it is somewhere in India. I met lot of Sri Lankans in NASA, but i never expected they came from such a tiny island. Wow... Will visit on one day.

In Rathnapura, not only the gemstone, there are countless beautiful attractions, including dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of breathtaking waterfalls.
Don't mislead visitors. There are few water 💦 falls.
@@Sandakathmini01 Ratnapura district having more than 100 waterfalls. Highest waterfall density in the island. Just go outside and see them. And tiny waterfalls are everywhere. Even most of the locals are not aware with this.

I have to admit that i never heard before of Sri Lanka or visited but because of my last relationship and my ex Girlfriend was from Sri Lanka and she told me to many things about the country and the culture and the food and i have to accept that i cannot wait to visit the country all throughout starting from Colombo and finishing up in Jaffna

Terrible situation for these poor miners, just so very few at the top of the chain profit.
Terrible until they surrender against Chinese mine industry... after that they'll be enslaved by heavy industries which can mine kilometres everyday with huge profits to the Chinese but little into Nepali pockets.
I want them to labour hard and improve on their own. Then the future will be bright.
Chinese industry already looted Africa and made their nature imbalanced and people poor.
