The Slingshot isn’t the first air-powered pogo stick we’ve ever made, but it’s definitely the most advanced. This pogo stick is the culmination of more than a decade of design and testing. Our previous pogo sticks focused on high power, max hangtime, and crazy tricks. Our goal has always been to work our way towards making a pogo stick that anyone can enjoy, but we have never been able to figure it out until now. It all comes down to the air spring. Vurtego’s previous pogo sticks require low air pressures to jump. In order to create a pogo stick for kids we had to figure out a way to increase the air pressures used in them, and after lots of tinkering, tons of tears, and a lot of money down the drain, we’ve finally cracked the riddle.
One of the coolest things about the Slingshot is that you can add or remove air in a matter of seconds and completely change how it bounces. The more air you pump into the pogo stick, the stiffer the spring becomes and the higher you can potentially jump. Pump it up too much, and the spring gets so stiff that you can’t jump on it anymore. If you accidentally add to much air, you just let some air out until the spring is just right for you.

This pogo is great! Only prob is that the foot peg’s cover thing is falling of but other wise it is amazing

Most of us started pogoing back in the late 90s or early 00s. Yes, we've gotten hurt. We like to try new things and push our limits...sometimes we push them a little too far.

Thanks!! No, unfortunately in order to get the price down we had to take it to China. Luckily we found a manufacturer that has been truly amazing to work with. It took a while to get things dialed in just how we wanted them, but the manufacturer really stepped up to the plate with their production quality. It's sad that we're not able to support US jobs with this pogo, but we'd never have been able to make it otherwise.

How much of this is 3d printed?
None of the parts in the production version will be 3D printed. The 3D prints just aren’t strong enough to handle much abuse. They’re only used for us to test the tolerances and fits of different parts. Well, that, and it’s cool to see the parts in person to see how they will look in real life before you spend a ton of money on creating molds.

@@Noclownshere We use injection molds for any of the plastic, rubber, or urethane parts. Injection molds are extremely expensive, but once the mold is ready, we can make hundreds of parts perfectly per day. The shaft and cylinder are extrusion molds. Extrusion molds are like play doh where the aluminum is squeezed from molten aluminum into a final shape and then cut to length.
