    I think one of the best tips that you could give someone new on these particular pogo sticks anyways is to always pull up the pogo stick keeping it planted on your feet at all times

      This, this, 100% this! I've had a Vurtego now for almost 4 years and every once in a while I pull it out and try to bounce around the driveway. Most jumps ever was probably 10 in a row. Read this comment today and suddenly everything is coming together, no longer all over the place - thank you!

    Hi vurtego team, i've got a Pogo stick for 3 days , so i am a beginner. How i know how many air must be in the Pogo stick

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  7 лет назад +4

      It's a personal feeling more than anything. We recommend starting with about 1/4 of your bodyweight in psi. So if you weigh 100 pounds, you should put about 25psi in to start. If you try to jump on it and the pogo stick sags to the ground and doesn't bounce back up well then you need to add more air. If you step onto it and try to jump and it doesn't budge, then you will need to remove air. Within an hour or so you should have a really good idea of how much air you prefer.

    I'm trying to watch videos to see where the pogo handle height should be and it looks like it's at your hip joint, is that correct? I've seen both hips and waist mentioned on other videos. My son is 10 but only 60lbs and the 40-80lb pogos would hit at his hip joint (peg to handle measurements) while the 80-160lb rated pogos would hit at his waist. I've had one company say go bigger and grow into it and another say stick with the weight so he can compress the springs. What do you recommend?

    • @pogostud
      @pogostud 3 года назад

      A pogo stick should definitely hit at the groin/hip area. Any higher up and it's difficult to use. It sounds like you're looking at the Flybar pogo sticks. If so, I would recommend the 40-80lb pogo. At 60lbs he might not be heavy enough to use the 80-160lb pogo stick.

    • @melissacairns1233
      @melissacairns1233 3 года назад +1

      @@pogostud Thank you! Yes I'm looking at the Flybar and the NSG. My son really wants one for xmas after playing around with his friends Razor pogo which seemed really hard to compress, so I'm doing my research! Sadly I have not seen any pogos that are rated 60-120lbs but at least he'll get a year or maybe two before he hands it down to his siblings.

      Jasmine Rose if you're already comfortable doing flips on a trampoline and have a pretty good air awareness before learning to jump on a pogo stick, there's a good chance you'd be able to do a flip within a year with a few hours, or possibly even less, of practice per week.

      In order to keep jumping on the pogo stick you have to power it by jumping yourself. If you stop jumping, the pogo stick will stop jumping over the course of a few jumps and then you can step off of it.

      If it's a different pogo stick than ours and it has a round shaft on the bottom, then there is not much you can do. We designed our pogo stick with a square shaft to prevent the shaft from rotating while you jump so that you are able to control where you want to go. On a typical pogo stick, the shaft is round and it is able to rotate freely when you jump. This oftentimes causes you to jump in circles.

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  5 лет назад

      That's a good idea! We usually recommend using about 1/4 of your bodyweight in lbs. So if you weight 100 lbs, we would recommend using 25 psi to start. From there you can adjust up and down to your comfort. As you get better or want to jump higher, you'll pump more air into it. Too much air usually means that the spring will be too stiff and you won't be able to bounce on it. There is no maximum air pressure that the pogo stick cannot handle.

    • @vurtegopogos

      Are you on a Vurtego pogo stick or a spring pogo stick? One of the problems with a standard spring pogo stick is that the shaft sticking out of the bottom is round. Because the shaft is round, it wants to rotate a little bit every time the spring inside of the pogo stick compresses. On the Vurtego pogo sticks we use a square shaft. The square shaft cannot rotate when you jump, which give you the ability to turn your body in order to maneuver the pogo stick and control where you are going.

      Yes, you definitely would lose weight. They require a lot of energy to jump on and will have you out of breath pretty fast. You'll also build up some muscle tone in your legs from jumping.

    • @vurtegopogos
      @vurtegopogos  2 года назад +1

      @@thecroatianzombie Yep. You'd definitely need a large for how tall you are. Your weight isn't an issue at all. We'd recommend starting at around 65psi to learn and then your sweet spot would probably be in the 85-95psi range. The more air you pump into it the stiffer the spring becomes. Most pumps can handle up to 120psi. I'd recommend getting the V4 Fit. The V4 Fit is made specifically for exercise and is safer & easier to learn on if you have not used a pogo stick before.
