This was very helpful with the fact that I had been using a slow charging cable. The cable that came with the tablet was so loose it did not work anymore. I had been using a cable I had for my phone that all of a sudden began giving me "slow charging" pop ups when used on my phone. This is the only reason I knew it was slow charging. After I watched this video I knew the best thing to do was test all the cables I had in the house. Once I found one that not only charged my phone, but did not give me a "slow charging" pop up, I finally found a cable that worked on my tablet. Thank you for the advice!

The primary concern with different USB wall adapters is *current*, not voltage. ALL USB wall chargers output 5V DC, but current can very from 900mA to 4A. While the device connected to the charger requires voltage to match nearly exactly, current must be *sufficient*. (A 4A charger will work just fine with a device that requires 2.5A, but a device that requires 4A won't charge well - or, perhaps, at all - with a 2.5A charger.) If using a multi-port wall adapter to charge multiple devices simultaneously, make sure that the adapter's current output is at least the sum of the current requirements of each device that's being charged.

k so I know I'm late, but a Samsung travel adapter, that has an output of 1.55A won't work? I have a pretty good charging cable, so is it just the wall adapter that's the problem?
Tysm! This happens a lot for me and this time for a day it went on without charging or turing on (it was dead) i tried moving the cable then holding the power button and volume up button and it worked! Thx again ❤

According to this worthless video, just send it back to Amazon. They will immediately repair it and send it back to you! But if you're like the many other real users, you don't have a warranty any more and despite Amazon knowing of this issue since its(kindle) inception and ignoring it, you'll waste your time with videos like these trying to find an answer. Believe me, I certainly have. And have only found a handful that expose the problems but have not found a true "repair" video to date. I'm still searching. Perhaps there is an ethical person out there who will actually do a step by step troubleshooting and repair video. I know this one isn't it!

omg this is literally what happened to me, the tablet just turned off out of nowhere and wouldnt turn on then i left it charging for 4 hours and it still didnt charge

My phone charges are fast charges that i use on the tablet...but lately tablet doesn't care to charge...earlier took hours to turn on
I fixed mine by cleaning inside both the port and Micro end with a soft toothbrush

what if the kindle doesn,t come on
Something to try for a temp fix that I found while searching for an answer. It sounds weird but plug your tablet in, then lean it against a wall or in the corner of a chair or couch so the tablet is resting on the charging cable. When you get it at the right angle, it will charge. Just tells me the usb connector is bad and requires the contact to be forced. Been doing it for a couple weeks and it works fine.

@@Lilsaxx99 Yep, it worked for a while but eventually the charging port broke out. I stopped using it altogether and got an Ipad for just over $200. For the price you pay for the Fire Tablets, it's a decent deal but obviously is disposable. It it just unfortunate that if you play a game on the Fire that tracks progress, it disappears completely and you go back to zero.

@@kiwisun529 A lot of games have a save option or transfer option. See if the game has that. Install the app/game on the new fire and hopefully you can clone it to the new game. What game/s are you trying to move and do they have a help option that you could contact them on how to do it?
When my three year old Fire refused to charge anymore two years ago, I bought a smaller Fire tablet and bought the charging dock that goes with it. No more plug ins. It works like a charm. Every morning I put it in the stand and within half an hour it is completely charged. The Fire's weakest point is that darned plug-in charger. I used to buy new charging cords every three months. In two years I haven't had an issue with my Kindle Fire. So, if you have to get a new one, go with the one that uses the charging dock.

This was really great advice, I definitely had a hardware issue, I contacted Amazon and even though it was out of warranty they gave me a 15% discount to purchase a new one. Turned out it was my cable. Happened to find a Mophie charger cable that worked in place of the Fire cable. Yay! It's charging as I type.

Maybe a bad usb port or a bad battery and i will have to replace it. Sometimes the usb ports come off the motherboard and need to b resaudered
I had that problem, I found no solution, I finally gave up, but a year later I decided to try and plug it in, guess what it worked.
I have to constant hold down the power button for 40 seconds to get it to charge. Is there anyway to fix this to make it just charge automatically?
Tysm my tablet was at 23% and was not charging when I held the power button for 20 secs it cam off and I power it on back when I did it not only fixed the problem but it made my tablet go up to 75% tysm again ❤️

I'm never buying one again, we have had a problem with every Amazon tablet I have bought. They all seem to have numerous issues then after warranty they die completely and Amazon won't help you anymore. I have literally had this happen 3 times now. Bought an iPad and it's an all round better device and worth the extra price.

Same here 2017. It might be it>. I have lots of bricks, usbs. It's bc sometimes the charge wants a low 1A or a high Amp. It's trial and error as it's different per recharge.

I legit got home, and it was at 1%! That morning it was at 68% when i sent to school. Keep in mind i turned off the screen not the actual tablet. But i haven't had this problem before! It just happened. Idk whats wrong. It may be the fact my sister dropped it on the hard floor and crackes the screen.

@Jannat Afrina Same here 2017 charge issue. It's bc the charge wants a diff amp (1A or higher)
every single time per die. Trial and error should help turn on/charge again.

Impreesive Isaac Same here. I usually turn it off while It's charging so it stays cool. High heat still kills the🔋. Make sure the amp brick will take its charge as its on. Then turn it off. Better to let it charge overnight. Morn it'll be ready to use.

Hold the button down to reset once it turns back on power it off for 5mins and when you turn it back on it should work

My amazon tablet 7 seems to charge when it feels like it! But now all it does is pretend it going to turn on but only the Amazon logo lights up 5hen screen turns black!! Please help me fix it
In my brother and sister's room, there's a charger that doesn't work there. It works for a millisecond then stops charging then starts charging again then stops. The red charger is pretty much the only one that works up here but at night we leave it downstairs and I'm scared mum will catch me.

My fire 10 hd wouldn't charge or turn on straight out of the box. Wirelessly charging doesn't work. It says Amazon for a second if I held down the power button for 30 seconds, and then shut off. But now it won't even do that. The warranty is up because it was a gift and held for 6 months and I didn't open it for 6 months. Soooooooo it's just a piece of garbage then?

They are not well built. Two tablets less than 3 months and both stopped charging and won't turn on at all. Brought new power cords, and nothing. Won't even factory reset.
