Opal Miners Discover Rare 100 Million Year Old Specimen!

- The season is all but over and that means it’s time for one last dig!
Noah determined to find another haul in the new mine struggles with issue after issue with the old generator.
Meanwhile I work underground in the family opal mine hunting for pineapples!
To my dismay the first one I find crumbles into pieces but had amazing colour if it held together could have been worth 30k or more!
Noah resurrected the genny but was ultimately defeated by the ongoing problematic beast.
Deciding to call it quits in the Hooters claim till next year, he came and gave me a hand working on the pineapple level.
While working Noah uncovers some petrified opal wood in a nearby shaft, the material itself worth total $600-700!
Continuing on I managed to score a nice little pineapple that wasn’t of great quality but still had nice colour and worth a pretty penny!
All in all it was an amazing last dig of the season, time for us to hit the road find a beach get some sun, a travla and a tan!
I hope you all enjoyed the video please leave us a comment and tell us what you would like to see more or less of.

Our names are Jaymin Sullivan, James Caruana and Noah Mcdonough we are the ‘Young Guns’ Opal Mining Crew from Discovery Channel tv show ‘Outback Opal Hunters.’
Our love for treasure hunting led us to quit our jobs and move to the desert in search of precious Australian Opal!
It’s a bad day to be a rock!
Noah, only you could make the generator going out funny. Thank you for the laughs. You guys are awesome, fantastic finds. Great job.
Please keep making videos.
Hahaha it was a pain in the butt 😂 one of those days where nothing goes right with a bit of gear
@@younggunsopalhunters What's happened to you all in session 9 are you there 😉
I like your channel. I think you add a lot of value to your trade with showing others how difficult it is to mine such precious material.
Hopefully the views and comments help you to feel less alone down there. Everyones watching you now. :)
I hope your family and friends tell you how proud they are of you, you guys rock! Or should I say opal
Hey thank you so much! They do they do! But it’s nice to read comments like this as well! It’s a privilege to be able to share our adventures with people who appreciate them :)

Hahaha would be a great Christmas present! Thanks for following along on our journey!
What a great freaking way to live and work. Absolutely amazingly brilliant.
That area where you all mine is big sky country. I could just sit and stare at the clouds all day long, not to mention sit and stare at the opal you find.
Absolute love this channel well done boys
Thankyou!!!
My husband says you made the mistake of pulling a "rip" cord instead of an "always functional and reliable" cord.
Hahahahah not wrong there 😂
Say sweet things to your machine and she will purr like a kitten. It’s a scientific fact.
Your husband is very wise
You mean like a parachute? 🪂
Thanks guys luv your videos merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Thanks for watching merry Christmas!
Great respiratory masks guys thanks for using them
Gotta stay safe!
Keep it up Boyz!!! Just ordered a ring for my wife from you guys can't wait to see it!! Mahalo Noah!! And Boyz!! Nice video awesome pineapple stay blessed and take it easy!!
Thank you for the support and for watching !
Where there is one! YAY! Sooooooo happy you found one and it fell into your hands! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
If you have a belt, you can start that motor. Just have to be careful the Buckle doesn't hit you in the face. Or someplace else.
😂 🤙🏻
Hi Noah, Nice videos that you put out. Hope you got the Generator running smooth. I can say that most of the time the number one reason a gas engine runs lean and sputters out is water condensation in the fuel. Plastic containers are the worst for developing condensation. Most carbs have a drain plug on the bottom of the fuel bowl. Try draining it and give it another try. Thanks again for all the content
They thanks very much for the advice I will try just that!
OUTSTANDING BUCKAROOS!!! KEEP YOUR COMRADERIE ALIVE ALWAYS, ESPECIALLY LIKE ROD AND LESS... I Like ALL THE opal minors, EXCEPT FOR TEMPER TANTRUM ISSAC - SOPHIA'S bro. (run OUT OF FUEL, & USING a PINGING HAMMER AND LOSING IT. BTW I AM a disabled senior, originally from GUAM, presently living in USA.
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment glad you enjoy the videos!
I love it on those rare occasions you find Pineapples!! Awesome! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Great work Boys, keep on digging,it's just around the corner as I say to mates at the Ridge, hope to have a dig in the future, all the best for Xmas and New Year Harry 👍👍
Haha thanks for watching!
My hat's off these fine fellas. I know a couple of young folks and their age groups. When something breaks they throw it away and go and buy a new one. They also have a hard time pumping their own gas. 😁
I hear ya, kids these days, you all have a great work relation, and keep getting better, great job on the videos👍
Like seeing you guys find opal!! Stay the course and best wishes
Living the dream chaps.👍👌
Best job in the world!
so that gen. loos like the exhaust is blowing back into the intake. chocking it out. ive done that. roofing leaving the air compressor in the back of the truck.

Always like what your doing and the explanations you give.
Your content has come a long way boys, quality video lads
Thank you we’ll keep at it !
Great finds guys. Wish I had money for some opals
i prefer this one two guys no camera crew or maybe one at most. its more like a adventure one on one when it not all sound perfect lighting ...bolonge really a mine is raw dirt and the vide needs that same raw uncut view as they see
100% we prefer this as well and will continue to make videos this way!
Love to see the process behind these beautiful stones, you guys rock!
Thanks for watching ⛏
Always keep spare rip cords. Make your own and keep them in the truck. Old mower handle on a new rope.

214👍's up thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching and liking!
Cool video
Merry Christmas to you all 🎄🤙
And to you!
Getting your exercise today
Hey mate in reference to the generator Open the tail gate that thing is air cooled your running it in a box give it more air flow. And Not sure do you use non ethanol? Ethanol fuel is a waste of money and has ruined many a small engine
Thanks for the ideas!
Where are you in session 9 ? What happened to you all .😁👍
Haha at about 13.30 theres a tiki face on the wall behind him
Would it not be better too check it all with a blacklight .Surely some lil beauts hiding
Your always going to miss something but time is money as they say and when your onto the pockets that pay you’ll be digging the good stuff all day! 😂
You need a ‘grabber stick’ so you can get in there and grab those opals- it will extend your reach by like a yard- they will pick up teeny items - to baseball size items with precision- my dad bought me one when I broke my leg and I’m telling you they work like a charm
I once commented that your vids where way to fake, and I'd love too see just mining stuff. Just like this video pretty awesome!
Glad you enjoyed this one.
Very cool vid boys. Only a fam dig this time? JC home for chrissy?
Yeah he’s back on the coast!
Congrats on the finds I love the wood myself.
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Definitely the wood is awesome! Thanks for the support!
@@younggunsopalhunters You're welcome and looking forward to your next video!!
Question. When you cleaned off the specimens you found... (beaufiful BTW), would it make the specimen more or less valuable if you took a dremel tool to it and took off all the non opal? Meaning... clean off all the rocky looking stuff. (Yeah.. I don't know the terminology!) Thanks for the answer in advance! XOXOXXO Love your vids!
keep going fellas great work!!
Well keep diggin till we hit the mother load!
Great job young guns 😘
Thank you 😁
Sounds to me like your generator needs more oil, some small engines come with a safety feature that turns them off when you have low oil to avoid overheating and damage
Good to know! I didn’t know that. Cheers!
Try and keep generator on as level ground as possible.they have an automatic cut out switch if not level enough.yours looks like a similar model to mine.might help.good luck team👏👍
Bugger about the mishaps guys we all have days like that. Great score though just in time for Christmas. Have a Great Christmas guys and a safe and prosperous new year 😁🤑🤑
Breakdowns are just a part of the job! Just glad we did have one nice last find for the season!
Well done and nice day for a Dig. 💥🍻✨️
Hey thanks for watching !
Such a genuine channel, the opal is beautiful but you guys bring a smile to my face :)
Thank you very much for watching!
Find opal, sell opal , purchase new generator lol
Good good! 👍💪 good job guys! Best of luck 🤞 orait! 👍
Keep it up dudes! love the channel
Thanks for checking it out !
Help, mate. Ive been looking for somewhere to purchase a 265nm black light torch. Can you steer me in the right direction pleeease?
Hey Gary the one we use is on our website younggunsopal.myshopify.com/products/opal-blacklight-kit
If your overseas you might be able to find a similar one closer to you ?
They also don’t really work on LR dark base or Boulder just white cliffs and coober mostly.
Thanks mate for your quick reply. That is disappointing news. I was looking at using one at the Ridge.
I have recently moved from Caves Beach up to a place called Oakey in Queensland where I have purchased a couple of acres with a house attached. Was looking forward to taking time off for a trip to the Ridge to recharge the batteries.
I have a motorhome which has all of the comforts including A/C.
When will you three be back up North after your time away on the Coast?
@@garyhughes4326 yeah unfortunately it only really works on light based opals some LR material does shine but mostly the lighter and crystal stuff. Anything dark or black doesn’t show well.
At this point we will probably head back to WC in March April
@@younggunsopalhunters Thanks guys. Sorry to interupt your break away from the heat but by the look of things you have chosen the ideal place for your getaway
I trust that you have a great time away from that hard slog that the three of you put in up there.
Hopefully our paths will cross at some point in the future and we can share a couple of beers (cartons) together. My shout.
Australian people work like me and that’s great news for the economy
I use generators daily also. It's easy to get complacent and start pulling it in the incorrect direction, causing it to rub and break.
Don't forget to empty the float bowl when it start and stops like that.
Better yet take it off and clean the jet.
Carby maintenance 101.
Stuff accumulates there and blocks the main jet easily.
Thanks for the advice we will have to get onto it!
Keep up the videos, It's only a matter of time before your channel builds and you will have your Million subs.
Hahaha I wish maybe one day!
Nice digs. Subbed
Hooked on your guys videos keep posting
You should modify your jackhammer. Weld little "wings" onto the hammer rod so when you hammer in and pull down you get a better pull at that section. I see a lot of wasted effort not moving/breaking rock as it could
McGyver that shit, Brother 😂
Keep doing your thing guys and hopefully it will be raining pineapples soon!
That’s the dream!
Well done boys.
Yayyyy first❤
Your life accomplishment 🤣
Hahah legend!
@@elkhunter76 it was 😂
@@younggunsopalhunters ty (: i love the vids and its because of you Guys that i am opal obsessed 😂

BTW, Hannah is a looker young mates.
That's what real men and real woman do when they have a problem they fix it 💯
Love your videos, love the specimens you pull from the earth. I know nothing about mining but even thou the mines seem compact, do you ever feel fear of cave in or been trapped,?
Does the tumbler damage any of the opals?
Doh. All Opals are about that old.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You just earned my subscription! 🤩 great stuff boys wow! I would love some, I wouldn’t want to order from some stranger on a random website, if you sell please where would I find a link?
This video made my day..
Thx Boiz🤘🏽
Haha thanks for checking it out!
What kind of tumbler do you recommend?
If I fly down with my family will you take me opal hunting?

But yeah nah ta for given it a geez coba hope you enjoyed it 🤠⛏
@@younggunsopalhunters Wouldn't miss it but I've noticed that even though I've got the bell icon hit, I'm not getting notifications in my comments drop down to let me know that you've uploaded. It was only because I thought I hadn't seen you on line for a while that had me go looking for my Aussie battlers, and I'm glad I did. I wonder if anyone else is not getting the notifications either?
@@annakeye thanks for letting me know I’ll have to look into it :)
We try and post at least one video a month, hopefully next year it will be even more regularly if we can get this new mine set up and running :)
Nice
Thank you for watching!
What percentage of alcohol is your beer
I think they are 3.5%
@@younggunsopalhunters we used to have 3.2 but l think it was in the1990s they changed it to 6. Now it is regulated by the state and can be different just by crossing a state line that makes me curious 👍
Low oil pressure sensor cutting your gennie off
Was that a railing?
It was we take a lot of older visitors down the mine :)
How do you know it's that old it could only be a few thousand years old how did you arrive at your conclusion
I didn’t geologists did 😂
Opal hunters 👍👍👍
Low oil sensor. It needs oil
Did an oil change was full didn’t seem to make a difference 😞
