Thanks for the shout out Jesse, love you! Been waiting for this video and absolutely loved it. I was sipping my tea from my good Catholic girl mug in work the other day whilst wearing my "eh?" t-shirt and someone asked me where I got them from and I was just like, "I Stan Plumbella!" My favourite memory involving death in the sims was in college when we spent so long creating ourselves as teens in the sims 3 before realising we needed an adult or above to create the household. Rather than just making an elder and killing them off immediately we instead spent ages creating a teacher that we hated, a perfect replica tbh, and then all sat and watched her drown. In the group room at college. With it projected onto the whiteboard 😂😂

I remember how ENRAGED people were when you couldn’t just take away the pool ladder in Sims 3 and then somebody figured out you could just build walls around the pool and peace was restored

I think in Sims 3 Death would pick up the cat’s ghost and pet it before it passed on. Could be remembering wrong but it was something nice like that.
I was TRAUMATISED when a meteor hit the school in the sims 3. All four children and their mum who was a teacher died. The dad was left all alone. Pretty dark stuff.

This happened to me too! I didn't know this could happen and was so surprised. Good tip though to save sims from a meteor is to do reset sim on a sim you know is in the school. That should reset everyone else inside to stand outside the building. Then from there you just reset all the sims one by one before the meteor hits the building. (while game is paused of course)

In the sims 3 my dog barked at the grim reaper and he got scared and turned my sim back to normal lmao

Yes in sims3 if you have a high relationship with your dog/cat there is 20% chance that your pet will save you and this can happen only 1 time with a sim
Fire is exactly why I make my sims make a garden salad first so they have some cooking skill before going on with the stove

Sims 3's Death also spares sims with a Loser trait. He tells them their failure is too funny to watch so they can't die yet.

My sim died unexpectedly while taking underwater photos in Sulani yesterday. Death floated up from the water with a snorkel mask on! I have never seen that before!

In the Sims 3 your pet can plead to the grim reaper to save your sim's life. My sim's dog did this and grim brought my sim back, it was so wholesome I shed 9000 tears.
I think only pets can do it
My favorite thing about death in the Sims was in Sims 3 how when a horse died the grim reaper would ride away on it, probably my favorite detail in the pack tbh
I never played with a horse long enough for it to die but now I wish I had just to see that!

all death animations for our sims 3 pets where fantastic and cute. I love to play in Sims 4 with the grim reaper. He is friends to all animals and is with all his fluffy friends on a giant farm :)
I had an alien in sims 3 that was an interior designer. I made this garden look amazing, the sim decided they didn't appreciate it, so I had my alien call meteors down and destroy him, his garden, and his family.

I have the basemental drugs mod installed and every time my sim smoked she would get hysterical and laugh herself to death 🤭
This happened to my first matriarch in the 100 baby challenge. One minute she's playing in the bath tub jets and next she's died of hysterical laughter. Safe to say I no longer let my Sims play in bathtub jets lol.
The same thing happened to me. It was the first time one of my sims died, and it was very traumatic for me. I just didn't save the game and came back because I didn't want to accept her dying

In the sims 2 my children got taken away then I played with another family cause I couldn’t handle the loss of the children and this family adopted them, I couldn’t believe my eyes 😱
When you're adopting you can choose kids... Or did you mean sims one?
The same thing happened to me!! The mother remarried, with the guy who adopted them, it was pretty weird
Fire played a big part in the sims as creator's Will Wright house burned down and the process of rebuilding it inspired the game

My first experience playing with the Sims 4 on PC, I tried to drown someone in the pool. They got out immediately so I had to figure out how to fence them in. Then it took FOREVER for them to die because their needs were great. So then Grim shows up and I start talking to him and click on an interaction that said something like "grovel for loved one" *well* I didn't know what grovel meant. Grim brings homeboy *back* to life and now I have to redrown him 🙄

I will always remember when I was playing Sims 2 when I was a kid, and the family I had went through a rough patch. At least 3 people in that family died just suddenly (electrocution, fire, drowning) I didn't do it on purpose, I swear. The only survivor was this one woman. And she was pregnant with her dead husband's child. I thought "Okay, I can come back from this." But then one night, her needs were low and her dead husband's ghost scared her to death.

I remember one random way my sim died in sims 3 was they went to university in the university pack, and they were getting a snack from the vending machine, and the vending machine fell on my sim and killed them lmao.
I always loved the mausoleum in the graveyards in sims 3, it was so fun to be able to work there/explore

It genuinely blows me away how much content the sims 2 had, I played that game for like 9 years and I'm still constantly finding out about features I had no idea existed! The gold gravestones?! They put such a tremendous amount of detail into every single aspect of the game it really truly was a masterpiece

Let me tell ya about death by meteor, aka probably my favorite memory I've had from all sims games...
So I decided to give my sims a nice big outdoor wedding with all their buddies, something I don't usually do because of laziness~, anyway right after the ceremony while all the guests and my sims were celebrating...the sky got dark...and I was like huh? Suddenly a GINORMOUS METEOR fell RIGHT ON TOP OF WHERE MOST THE SIMS WERE DANCING/PARTYING, and killed them all except for the bride and her unborn child. So yeah, the poor groom got wiped out too 😱 and sure I coulda not saved it, but I just thought it was so crazy and amazing that I decided to accept my sims' new fate and play from a different storyline than what I was anticipating 😂
Plus I think my newly single mom sim got like 10k simoleans from the giant meteor left in her yard
I out loud said “and he greeted death like an old friend” when you talked about the old man grabbing his suitcase following death. My first Sims was sims 3 so I always tried to friend him and he thought I was always a weirdo

Till this day my sister gets a fit of laughter when i bring up what happened to me in the Sims 3.
I had a two story house, the meteor smashed into the middle of everything. A couple things turned into dust and the only thing that caught up into fire was the random chess table on the terrace and the ground/bushes around the house. I had my unicorn extinguish the fire because my sims were useless panicking.
It was my most surreal game ever. I went to tell my sister that my house got mushed under a meteor, my chess table is ruined and my unicorn is basically the fireman. Just imagine.
"I've never been really sold on emotions" Yep. And this is why I mostly build. Buildings tend to have fewer emotions than sims.
I love the new backdrop but it shocks me still 😂 I'm expecting your bed. Like I'm about to have a bit of chat time with a highschool friend.

Took me so long to realise how to level up skills in the original Sims that for too long they were eating cold food. Suddenly appreciate more that they later levelled up through practice too.

I remember my first sims 1 family single mother with one kid and I put the firework thing in the kids bedroom , he lit it and started a fire and my sim died by fire . . I didn’t save but even exiting and reloading every time I reloaded the grim reaper was there to take my sim 💔
I once did a Hunger games sort of thing on Sims 3 where I started with 8 Sims and then put them through different types of death to see who died first. It was great fun however, I have them all unluky traits, thinking it would make them die quicker but all it did was made death bring them back to life so they never died!!!!! Looking back now it's funny but 10 year old me found it mighty annoying

Once me and my cousin made kirby from suite life on deck in the sims and killed him off by locking him in a room, an hour later it was announced that the actor passed away. still scares me tbh

Younger sims can also die from exertion in the Sims 4. I had a sim who accidentally died by shagging on his wedding night because his energy was too low, and he was a young adult. Tragically his widow was left pregnant from the same encounter and had to raise the baby as a single mum.
My fave in sims 3 way to die was goin to college and shaking the vending machine when it took your money and didnt give you what you ordered it fell on you when you shook it too much
in the sims 2(ps2) you can play as a ghost and well..its fun XD you can scare people so bad they wet themselves or pass out..or both

i honestly love the emotion deaths and ghost powers in the sims 4. i had a save file where i'd put a bunch of hot headed sims, have them be constantly fighting and painting angry paintings to hang around the house, and just basically be angry all the time until they died from it. then obviously their ghosts would come back and cause the living sims to be even angrier. i kept moving in more sims as they died and ended up with a huge collective of pissed off ghosts. good times

Also I remember when I was a teen, my friend made a couple in Sims 2 and literally put a bed on a flat roof and made them wohoo so much, that the bed cought on fire and they both died and the lot was unavailable...

I remember I had all my sims 3 family on their balcony ( I think Bridgeport ) for a toddlers birthday party and a giant ass meteor smashed and destroyed everything! literally no one survived, got the game over screen

The Sims 1, so many weekends spent playing this game literally from the time I got home from school on Friday until my mom demanded I go to bed for school Sunday 😂
I remember the first time I saw a Meteor in the sims 3. I recall that message as both the son and his mother (who was a teacher) both said "the sky is getting darker" while at school. Then I remember the shock and horror as the Grim Reaper does every child who was at school one at a time, while the mother who survived weeps uncontrollably....
This was in a play through loosely inspired by the Addams family too...

I had a sim that killed other sims just to have a relationship with death.
And many kids.
I had to adopt away, some of the kids because I didn't have enough space.
I need to see the Sims Team’s Sims 1 live stream in which everyone dies agdkagkdhs but I can’t find it anywhereeee
the very first time I played the sims 4 I made my sim propose and he got rejected, and got embarrassed. But I made him do it again, and it changed to mortified, and then he died. I killed my sim of embarrassment.
So this one time my sims 3 game glitched out and no matter what i did meteors kept targeting every sim I played I deleted all mods, reset my whole ass game, did that little fix method in origin nothing worked... I kept getting killed by meteors to I started teleporting my sim everytime id get the notification and it would just destroy everything around where they had been.... I eventually had to uninstall the game +all expansions and reinstall it all... it was a pain in the butt 😂😂😂
Never been here so early, but I'm glad, that episode about death is that one I'm early on XD
