Hey I know this is completely off topic from the entirety of this video but, my dog also has seperation anxiety. She was two months old when I got her and had already been in 4 homes. This is what I did to kind of wean her off me. I took her out on walks to this big open park and would take her off the leash and throw tennis balls for her. she wanted to chase the tennis balls but at the same time wanted to stay with me so it taught her that she could stray away from me from time to time. and everytime I would leave the house she would start crying and scratching at the door so I would do little tests with her such as I would close the door and every time she wouldn't cry I would come back in and give her a treat. I did this for months and it took her around 6 months for any significant progress to show. when she turned a year old I started taking her to the dog park where she could interact with other dogs and be on her own without me. She's a year and half now and she has her episodes but she's doing alot better. I thought you would like to know some tricks to help you through it because I know it can be tough sometimes. Be patient with your doggo and all will turn out fine
when i adopted my greyhound she was soooo anxious and would howl whenever we left the house it breaks your heart!! We used the same techniques which helped a lot, as well as putting on the tv (I chrome cast DogTV from youtube! it's amazing!!!!!) and I leave a little 'treasure hunt' of treats around the house for her which she LOVES. Sometimes I'll put treats in a cardboard box or something so she can tear it up and have fun. It took about two months but she is great now :) congrats on your new baby!!
I think it is really great how much effort you put in! I am a German dog trainer and if you ask me I would only change one little thing. If it was my dog I would not give her a treat when I come back in. I wouldn’t even touch or look at her. You can be proud that she does so good but you should not reward her. Here is the reason: you want that your dog is relaxed when you are away and if she learns that everytime you come back something exciting happens ( treat and contact with you) she will have a hard time to relax because your arrival is so special. That you Waited until she is quiet is really good and crucial for training so she learns that not her sounds lead to your return and she can stop this behavior. Despite the detail with the treat I think it is amazing what you are doing. I love to hear that there are people out there who realize that you can’t leave a dog alone and think that the problem will solve by it self. Also that you were so patient is really great. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
My youngest (I have two) Dora had terrible separation anxiety when we took her in at 5 months old. We were pretty oblivious to it at the beginning because she never showed us any signs when we were home. She was more infatuated with her new big brother, who soon became her new boyfriend (they aren't related! Love is love.). She was such a good puppy, never destructive and the only thing she would knick were apples from the fruit bowl. BUT what we didn't realise was that while we were out she was eating the TV stand, which was made from pallet wood. Que my tears at feeling like a failure as a dog dad. One traumatic operation later (to remove the wood) we took some advice from our local dog walker/dog trainer who said exactly what @Granatapfelfan has said to do and it worked like a treat! We also confined them both to one room (i.e. the kitchen) while we were out and removed anything chew-able. She seemed a lot more chilled with this because she learned that if she was going in the kitchen, we would be coming back. She would just go to her bed and sleep. If we left her to run around the flat, she wouldn't understand and would start to panic (I studied her behaviours by setting up nanny cams around the flat then popping outside to observe her via an app on my phone because...technology!). Five years later she is still the most clingy of the two (her knick name is shadow). I sit at the sofa, she is at my feet. I sit at the dining table, she is at my feet. I go to bed, she is at my feet. I go to the bog....she is at my feet. But, she never chews or stresses at all while we are out. At the most you get a sad face. She does still go MENTAL when we come home, even if we are just out for an hour. However, we still stick to the routine that @Granatapfelfan has mentioned and she calms down quite quickly. Good luck and congratulations on becoming a dog parent! You'll do great! P.S: Have a go at The Genius of Dogs by Brain O'Hare, or google Dognition, it will give you so much insight into training your dog. Like people, all dogs learn differently and have different capacities in their cognition. A lot of modern dog trainers follow this theory.
@@Plumbella There is a stuffed dog animal that you can buy on Amazon that has a battery operated beating heart inside it. You can get the dog in different colors as well. This dramatically helped when our dog had separation anxiety and absolutely despised her kennel (which she needed at the time). Essentially it imitates their mom and/or a litter mate. I highly recommend searching for it! Good luck from a fellow vegan, animal lover! Love your content - you make me laugh every day!
My main problem with sims 4 expansions, and the reason i think it feel so unfinished despite being out for 5 years, is that it keeps reusing mechanics. I personally never played sims 2, but i use to play sims 3 for hours on end with only 3/4 expansions. Sims 3 didnt reuse mechanics- every expansion came with something new. Sims 4 brings one mechanic in for one expansion (ex: get together introduced groups), but then reuses the exact same coding for another expansion (ex: university life introduced "cliques" and "study groups" but they are literally the same as groups from get together). and its the same for retail- get to work introduced owning a retail, cats and dogs came back with owning a vet, and that one expansion i dont remember the name of would let you own a restaurant. The sims 4 is just so lacking
I dont see that as a problem if done right. Like Get Famous skill tree being simmilar to Vampires skill tree is fine. However, the restaurant one is so stupid. It should have been included in Get to Work. Im fine with vet from pets, even though it is simmilar to Get to Work. It even makes sense. But Sims 4 seems so lazy, and lack so much depth! That is my biggest problem. Traits and emotions are super bland. The worlds dont evolve, sims just die, never get married, never have kids. Even Seassons I dont think it was that good like people say. I barely see the difference between summer and spring, besides visual effects. Holidays become annoying to me, and you usually do the same thing over and over. I never use the callendar lol.
MemoriesLP MemoriesLP Sims 4's reuse of mechanics was a problem to me personally because it was just... soo boring. Like you said, it was lazy. There was no depth at all. I cant pinpoint an exact reason why its so boring though. Its just. ugh i cant play an hour in gameplay without getting bored
University is my ABSOLUTE favorite pack across all three games. Sims 2 was my childhood and University was so much fun. When I play Sims 3, I only play with University. So needless to say I'm super excited for Discover University.
I’m living for the faded pink in your hair 😍 you’re absolutely stunning, also I have really loved your Discover University vids, do you know if your sims age up while enrolled in university in the new pack? New sims challenge: career student, earn all degrees before your sim dies lol
I have heard it on several videos that Sims age up as usual while enrolled, since you can also attend uni from your regular home and keep the family around etc. ... It's especially not recommended to play uni on short life span, since it takes at least three Sims weeks to graduate. .. I have a couple of immortals, so I'll probably try how fast it can be done properly with them first before I "waste" a regular sim's entire youth on attending uni 🤣
For me, Sims 2 University is the best pack there has ever been for any Sims game, and the dorms in it were most UK-like. For Sims 4 I need a mod to allow cookers on dorms but otherwise, sounds pretty good
Sims 2 University isn't completely separated from the rest of the game - your uni sims can still visit the home neighbourhood community lots, and you can go back and play your non-uni Sims at any time. Also, you probably did befriend some secret society Sims without realising it. The actual initiation usually happens at night, if I remember correctly, where some secret society Sims will come to the lot and take your Sim to the secret lot. So you probably just happened to be doing that assignment on the night that your initiation was going to happen, and it would have happened no matter what your Sim was doing because they'd already made the necessary friends.
my university has the cafeteria in the commons so it doesn’t really bother me that they’re one building in the sims 4. and we can’t have ovens, hot plates, etc in our dorms either, so i guess it’s going for a more american thing
If it was an american thing, that is weird because im pretty sure britechester is inspired from Britain? Idc about the cafeteria being in the commons, it's just the loading screen
Zora Z lmao but the team clearly did it that way because thats how it works in the majority of America. They obviously didn’t research if other countries universities had stoves or not. How are you really an adult and being told you can’t cook for yourself and that you’re not trusted with a stove 😂
Ellie Tudor The didn’t study modern american dorms either because like many of them do have stoves. I’d say it’s like a 50/50 shot that you’ll dorm will have a stove in America. But i’ve also heard people from france and south africa and other countries saying there aren’t stoves in the dorms. so definitely not only an american thing. I think a problem with the stoves would be the dorms frequently catching fire, which happened in the sims 2 apparently.
I watch so much plumbella that whenever I say career I automatically say the job not the country even tho I’m from Dublin and no one has trouble understanding what I mean
I dont think the world is good/bad - 8/80 Why not both? Why, instead of having rabitt holes, why cant we see inside each building? Why cant we go inside, go to canteen, go to the corridors, go to a lab, ALL of that, but INSIDE the class is a rabitt hole? I spend 90% of time at university inside buildings, and not walking outside of them. People either want 100% rabitt hole, or 100% interactive. I think a mix would be way better. You could even get out of the class, drink some water, talk to someone, and go back to the class... just like in real life lol
I loved how you actually had to pledge to become Greek in TS2. Unlike TS3 when you could just start living in the house, or how they're completely gone in TS4. Whenever they come out with a Uni TS5 pack, I hope they add back private schools and boarding schools for kids and teens.
For me the University pack in The Sims 4 is a joke. It does look like you have so many thing to do but you get bored of it quickly. I think that The Sims 3 have the most enjoyable university pack, it's more "real" because it's not only about studying and attending classes (like it is in TS4), you actually explore the pack and you're a lot more free to continue your story with more things than just studying and living in a dorm. Sims 2 university pack is my second favorite, and if we had a remake of it, it would probably become my number 1.
Jen Agree 100% with the sims 3 part. I never really got into playing with university in sims 2 and 4 at all, imo sims 3 is the only one who really nailed it.
I'd love to see your dog more in your videos! Apparently walking your dog before you leave, staying calm/no shouting when you leave and starying out with leaving your dog for small amounts of time to re-assure her/him that you're going to come back. Wish you all the luck, loved your honest reviews and thoughts on packs.
Good luck with that separation anxiety! I've had my gorgeous doggy for over a year now and no matter what I do, it's never gone away. It's like looking after a toddler in Sims 4.
I really enjoyed Discover University and I wasn't expecting much! The CAS items are totally up my alley. The only negative thing I'd say is that graduation is a bit of a let down - it's basically just a rabbit hole. But I suppose you could get your Sims to throw a party afterwards :)
Omg I bought all my sims 3 packs from Cex because I didn’t know about origin !!! I really wanted generations and seasons but they were NEVER in stock so University was my go-to pack 👍👍
My favorite part of the Sims 3, How many times can the Dorm Mates set the stove on fire and you get pulled away from class to react to a fire on your lot. So part of me is ok without the stove. It was more of an annoyance factor for me that I even just put the Stove and other such items in the Family Inventory for the time period of school.
That was so bloody annoying! Ugh. I'm playing a Hamilton-based Household with Sims 3 university and let me tell you, those bloody roommates keep setting the stove on goddam fire. I am not missing the lack of Stoves, I'm telling you that.
I know this is an old video, but I actually kind of got into the frozen time aspect of Sims 2. I could send sims off to university and rotate out playing them at university or the families at home. But by playing in the right rotation I ensured kids who grew up together went to college together with all relationships in tact the way I wanted. I personally liked to bounce between a set of students at university and playing the family at home. I enjoy controlling how much has changed at home/in town before everyone gets home from college and having that full controlbwithout story progression. I usually send groups of sim 2 teens I had grow up together from different households off to university at the same time. I usually put them in the same dorm, tried splitting dorms but then I have to track multiple on campus households and I am not a fan, I just experiment with a different dorm with the next college group. I still play Sims 2 btw, thank you super collection. Also don't know about Sims 3, but in Sims 2 you can visit your family and visa versa. At college you can invite family over to the university and it works just like any other lot visit and at home, the family can call and invite their university young adult home for a day visit. It works just like rotating house lots. The family and/or university student will be in whatever state you left them in. But students can pop over for a home town visit. I don't play college in one sitting, so part of my rotation is going back to the main town and say if the family has a new baby, I'll invite the college student home. They are an unplayable guest, but then they can interact with new family members.
Plantsims are in University because they tied obtaining the Forbidden Fruit to the university science course. There is a large piece of science equipment where one can experiment on collectables, and I know beetles can be turned into Plasma Bugs, seeds can be turned into Forbidden Fruit seeds, and I don't recall what stones do, but I do think it has something too.
"Not enough depth in the Sims 3 packs" What the actual hell are you talking about, there's tons of depth in EVERY Sims 3 pack, way more than anything Sims 4 has put out (despite me liking Sims 4 packs)
lol I remember I finished uni in the sims 3 and you know that feeling when you finish you feel like a little down (irl) I got that feeling when I finished uni in the sims 3 too.
Well, with the roomate system in the sims 4 it is like having two separate household on the same lot (well I'll see if it works) or at least like neighbors for semi detached houses!!
The sims 3 university has replay value something im sure the sims 4 discover university wont aside from the bikes and roommate system. Sims 3 put a lot of content in there packs
Sims 2 is pure chaos but it’s amazing! I had 4 young people that were couples - and the cow mascot kept coming in and hitting on them so they kept getting mad at each other for ‘cheating’ 🤦🏻♀️ then one of my sims kept fighting one of the housemates literally whenever they were both on the lot at the same time... their autonomy levels are amazing... add to that the random streaker who kept arriving to the lot and running around the house. Pure chaos.
At my Sims's graduation, I had such plans of my sim going & taking pictures with his partner in their caps & gowns and all this cute stuff, and then one of the other students was a werewolf & lost control right out front the graduation building so I couldn't get my sim to go inside and go to his grad because he was too afraid, and the other students, including his partner, kept running around and screaming and fainting lol.
A remastered Sims 2 would honestly be such a good move I'd buy that (like if it wasn't a crazy price, which it shouldn't be bc it's old). Like the aging up thing, maybe visiting people's houses like in the Sims 4, and some slightly updated graphics but not too much bc it should still feel like the old game. And then hopefully The Sims 5 will be a good mesh of all the games whenever that eventually comes out. Because I'd love an open world but in the Sims 2 it's not too bad without it so a remaster would be okay, but the Sims 5 should definitely have an open world.
lol everytime i'd start my sims at uni i'd either suck coz i made too many sims to keep an eye on or chaos would ensue with a cow plant and deliberately starting a zombie apocalypse
Funnily enough, playing Discover University finally pushed me to apply for online college classes. I currently don't have it installed to save space, but I do like it!
It's not a home until there's a dog, amirite? Mine seems to have worms in her poop right now so that sucks. I still love her to bits, though. She also has seperation anxiety but getting the Furbo dog came made it MUCH better. xoxo
you know what? now that i’m realizing it your sims don’t actually have seasonal breaks from school. I really hope to see that included if they do a pack refresh for seasons because I mean no one just goes to school every single day for 18 years yk?
Love these sim history vids you do! Even though I’ve played the game since sims 1, I forget the details of what the old games included so it’s cool to be reminded and see how they compare to the current game. I feel like the sims 4 doesn’t have the same charm that the sims 2 did but I cant go back since sims 4 graphics are so much better!
In my humble opinion, i love the sims 2 university but it triggered my anxiety in a bad way.. i think sims 4 university looks the best one compared to the others.
I was today years old when I learned that there was a secret society in addition to the sororities and fraternities in the colleges in sims 2. Like wow that is insane and I really really wish there was an updated sims 2 with the exact same lore and characters but with updated graphics and maybe the ability to multitask so I could explore a new avenue in a game I played for years
You should do a history of your sims history. Like which game you played first and which packs you had growing up. I think it’s really cool to see what packs and which version of the game simmers started with. My first intro to sims was sims 1 on the GameCube 😆
What about a history of the needs/motives? Not sure if that would be enough for a whole episode, but you could cover the different rates of decay in each game and how the needs themselves have changed, and why the environment/comfort need was a thing (Will Wright was really into that and it came from the sims being a design game first I think, after his house burned down in the early 90s). You could also couple that with the aspiration meter and show how when it got too low in TS2 the psychiatrist guy would show up. And if that still isn’t enough, maybe you could couple it with the UI in general or something? And show the wants system/whims/etc.
In Swedish streaking was called “strejka” which kinda means protest too, so when I was a kid I clicked my sim to “strejka” to try it out, and I was shocked.

"Yes, I say breakfast, dinner, tea and not breakfast, lunch, dinner because I'm a northern channel and I'm not about to start a class war" 💀
As an American, hearing tea replacing dinner is sooo strange. Tea is a drink? Classic American confusion.
Sunshine no no no sweetie you’ve got it all wrong. tea is like after dinner food. it’s like lunch after dinner basically.
bristols weird cause over here we say breakfast lunch and tea
@@samsasimmer like an afternoon tea? that's some top poshness
george🤙🏼 no it’s just means the third meal of the day, not posh in the slightest
Its just. ugh i cant play an hour in gameplay without getting bored
i agree but thats why we have mods
University is my ABSOLUTE favorite pack across all three games. Sims 2 was my childhood and University was so much fun. When I play Sims 3, I only play with University. So needless to say I'm super excited for Discover University.
Since 5 months passed and you're probably owning the pack now. What are your thoughts? :)
@@MonaHerSelfM ^^
“they basically just drink water and have a special relationship with plants like same here hen i’m vegan” 💀
I never thought I'd see the day where the Sims4 would come out on top in a Plumbella "Entire History of-" video
"your sims take off your clothes" im Sorry ??
Full game immersion lol
Look at us a bunch of spoiled hens, never has my feed been filled with so much Plumbella and I am LIVING for it 🎉 also PRESENTED not sponsored
I’m living for the faded pink in your hair 😍 you’re absolutely stunning, also I have really loved your Discover University vids, do you know if your sims age up while enrolled in university in the new pack? New sims challenge: career student, earn all degrees before your sim dies lol
Katie Z I think they age up like they normally do but I’m not a hundred percent on that
I have heard it on several videos that Sims age up as usual while enrolled, since you can also attend uni from your regular home and keep the family around etc. ... It's especially not recommended to play uni on short life span, since it takes at least three Sims weeks to graduate. .. I have a couple of immortals, so I'll probably try how fast it can be done properly with them first before I "waste" a regular sim's entire youth on attending uni 🤣
these are actually the best types of videos because you clearly put so much effort and research into them it’s utterly brilliant🙈
Thank you haha I was working on this video for 6 hours I’m glad you appreciate it
Plumbella always appreciate your videos :)
Also the sorority girls making a Big party at your household was dopr
A lot of people (including me) skipped either sims 2 or sims 3, so having these history videos helps a lot at understanding sims lore
5:31 As a non-American, I was very confused as a child as to what frashman, sophmore, junior and senior meant.
I can’t get over the fact that there is a degree for Villiany
Perfect for my magic sim who practices necromancy.
me playing on my realistic save file:
i pretend i do not see
my university has the cafeteria in the commons so it doesn’t really bother me that they’re one building in the sims 4. and we can’t have ovens, hot plates, etc in our dorms either, so i guess it’s going for a more american thing
Cole V C I find it funny how everything is American, but when asked about bunk beds they were like oh that’s only American so we didn’t do it ...
You guys do realize that not having stoves in dorms is not only an American thing right
If it was an american thing, that is weird because im pretty sure britechester is inspired from Britain?
Plumbella: Sims 3: too many ideas not enough depth
EA: Soooooo less ideas and less depth?
Plumbella:.... No! No!!
I watch so much plumbella that whenever I say career I automatically say the job not the country even tho I’m from Dublin and no one has trouble understanding what I mean
I can't wait until university comes out on console I like it and I don't mind the rabbit holes even if everyone else does
The compliment Assassin same but I wish the careers weren’t rabbit holes 😭
I dont think the world is good/bad - 8/80
Why not both? Why, instead of having rabitt holes, why cant we see inside each building? Why cant we go inside, go to canteen, go to the corridors, go to a lab, ALL of that, but INSIDE the class is a rabitt hole?
I spend 90% of time at university inside buildings, and not walking outside of them.
People either want 100% rabitt hole, or 100% interactive. I think a mix would be way better. You could even get out of the class, drink some water, talk to someone, and go back to the class... just like in real life lol
You got into the secret society using the plot for Good Will Hunting 😂😂😂
History of the Sims 101, taught by Professor Jesse.
The only history class I actually want to attend.
Sims 2 university was my favorite!! I miss the career rewards and the college jobs!!!
“You can have a nerdy sim at home who sits home and plays video games all day ‘me, literally me’” I felt that
I loved sims 3 university, but you have good points! University in general is a cool idea for a pack imo
I loved how you actually had to pledge to become Greek in TS2. Unlike TS3 when you could just start living in the house, or how they're completely gone in TS4. Whenever they come out with a Uni TS5 pack, I hope they add back private schools and boarding schools for kids and teens.
Sims 2 university is the reason I started playing the sims. I saw the advertisement in Walmart. Ever since then I’ve been playing.
in sims 2 university you can talk to your family long distance
I love your decoration in the back! And I'm really excited for the Uni expansion! Can't wait to play it.
University was the first or second sims pack I think I’ve ever got.
You forgot that in Sims 3, when you the top of a social group you get an extra trait - even if you got an extra trait for graduating.
I feel like the fact that there's so much in Sims 3 packs makes them way more worth your money.
MY FAVORITE SERIES AND FAVORITE SIMMER thank you~
Good luck with that separation anxiety!
In sims 2 i was actually accidentally accepted into a secret society, didn’t want to
My favorite part of the Sims 3, How many times can the Dorm Mates set the stove on fire and you get pulled away from class to react to a fire on your lot.
Just put a fire alarm And thats it. Also if You have the cash or the skill just update the stove.
In my opinion this is the best implementation of university in the sims yet, everything was very well made and made well in depth
Almost at 200k! Congrats Jesse!! 💕👏
You’re spoiling us, Plummy!
i played ts2 when i was little and i remember the university pack so well, it stressed me out to no end
Okay. I love the video, but also can I mention How beautiful your hair looks right now!
The male sim in the thumbnail for some reason gave me a red-headed Jake Ryan from Hannah Montana... I don't even know why my mind went there XD
Your dog is sooo adorable
I always come back to watch this one. So nostalgic! I loooove TS3 Uni and how teens can prep for it (and how teens look like teens).
I love the "History of...." vids!
Plantsims are in University because they tied obtaining the Forbidden Fruit to the university science course. There is a large piece of science equipment where one can experiment on collectables, and I know beetles can be turned into Plasma Bugs, seeds can be turned into Forbidden Fruit seeds, and I don't recall what stones do, but I do think it has something too.
normally when embargos lift all the videos are kinda the same , but I love how jess keeps it interesting
"Not enough depth in the Sims 3 packs" What the actual hell are you talking about, there's tons of depth in EVERY Sims 3 pack, way more than anything Sims 4 has put out (despite me liking Sims 4 packs)
love your sim historiesssss
lol I remember I finished uni in the sims 3 and you know that feeling when you finish you feel like a little down (irl) I got that feeling when I finished uni in the sims 3 too.
The cure for that feeling it's moving to isla Paradiso or France And just chill out (don't go to allsahamira or chine after college)
These are fun but I love the ones that focus more on family lore!
Well, with the roomate system in the sims 4 it is like having two separate household on the same lot (well I'll see if it works) or at least like neighbors for semi detached houses!!
Omgg LOVING the pink at the ends of your hair
i think referring to yourself as a 'plant sim' would be a cooler alternative than vegan
I am living for all of this content. Only thing missing is mumbella
Pure chaos.
In the Sims 4, I like to use seasons to plan a yearly "University Reunion", where I get all my Sims' uni friends together for a big party
this made me remember how much detail and depth there was in sims 2 gameplay...
The dog snoring, i can‘t!! 😍
lol everytime i'd start my sims at uni i'd either suck coz i made too many sims to keep an eye on or chaos would ensue with a cow plant and deliberately starting a zombie apocalypse
Please never stop doing this series!!
Funnily enough, playing Discover University finally pushed me to apply for online college classes. I currently don't have it installed to save space, but I do like it!
I still can’t believe Maxis released University as the FIRST EP all the way back in 2005!
My favourite part of this is the snorts and whuffles of dog close by.
It's not a home until there's a dog, amirite? Mine seems to have worms in her poop right now so that sucks. I still love her to bits, though. She also has seperation anxiety but getting the Furbo dog came made it MUCH better. xoxo
"Dumbledor: Daft or Dangerous?"
Your videos are really fun to watch, thank you for all the time and effort you put into them.
you know what? now that i’m realizing it your sims don’t actually have seasonal breaks from school.
Love your "History of " videos! Also can't wait till Friday to play/record this expansion myself!
I’m so excited to play University and live in the college town. I grew up in a college town and love the vibe of them!
In my humble opinion, i love the sims 2 university but it triggered my anxiety in a bad way.. i think sims 4 university looks the best one compared to the others.
Oh thats a shame : ( glad that sims 4 uni looks good to you!
Yasmine Waleed What triggered you by the sims 2 uni?
Sims 3 university was my favorite simply because there was more content and features and you could make custom universities
Sims 2 uni is sooo stressful. It takes forever to sleep in that game the you're cramming homework and dieing of fatigue and stress. So lifelike lol
good luck with the new doggo!
You forgot to mention that in sims 2, you get extra slots for your "wants" tab after completing university
