If you are watching this and you got to 42 minutes where you feel like you have to rush....don't rush. We were with you for 45 minutes! Chances are we are going to watch the whole thing no matter how many hours because we want to see the mistakes and the thought process. It actually helps.
I like how ceri explains why he does something not just watching him do it.😊 it doesn't always help to watch someone create if you don't understand why something is being done a certain way. This is why ceris videos are so good because of his experience in multiple areas. With these videos I can learn the techniques and then create my own style not just copy ceris. Thank you for taking the time to teach.
💜💜💜 I could have EASILY watched another hour of you making these, while I do understand you wanting to relax and take your time creating. Thank you so much!
Omg Ceri those are amazing. You don't know how much that has helped me to understand that whole process I am relatively new to this Journaling stuff so thank you so much for taking the time to actually go through that step by step.
I am just starting out. I have VERY FEW scraps, junk, etc. How do I get started making projects? Help! Love your work, and love that you are able to talk throughout a whole hour video! Now, that's talent!😲🥴😆 (I am just messing with you.) To be honest, it's nice that you do it because you are sharing, not just rambling. I don't get bored because I am learning. Thank you, thank you. Really. 🤗💕✌️
Thank you, if you’re on a budget then there are things you can do with just a scissors, glue stick, needle and thread…..items most households have access to, do a search on RUclips for junk journals you’ll have lots of journal making videos come up but you’re looking for videos where they make a true junk journal which is made from found items and free things you can collect such as catalogues, junk mail, free magazines from the grocery store. I did make a video showing how to create a journal from a cereal box, it’s kind of a junk journal and the video may help you understand the principal of making that type of journal. ruclips.net/video/I0_MrpwVcYs/видео.htmlsi=jde1vhLKj7iejAT8 once you start looking around you’re likely to find stuff you can use everywhere. Even if you just find an old book or magazine and use it as a glue book, meaning you cut images from free magazines and glue them onto pages it will help you start you’re creative journey. The creative world is full of products which everyone thinks they have to buy but in years gone by there were few products and little money so people adapted and made do, if you use that approach you’ll be amazed at what you can do with what you already have. Also we are fast approaching Christmas, there’ll be packaging, wrapping paper, greetings cards, possibly ribbon all are great resources……most of us have great fun grabbing discarded items at Christmas as we see the potential in them that others don’t. Good luck.
Love this as i get stuck on how to cover/make tags. i generally just cover with beautiful/ interesting papers then dont want to put too much on top. Thank you
I appreciate how you feel about the nature of paper. I spent 40 yrs in magazine/commercial printing & developed a love of paper. Your sense of balance for color & texture is wonderful. Thank you!
I love your systematic approach - number, number, number / ticket, ticket, ticket / etc. I take FOREVER to decorate ephemera because I'm fishing through everything for every element. I know this will help me be more productive! Thank you.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to share this creative process with us. This kind of collage is something I have admired from afar but never felt able to do: I felt it was mentally too "messy." Seeing you demonstrate your order and method makes it immediately achievable for me, and I look forward to using this technique. I'm mostly a card-maker, and already making my 2023 Christmas cards. I think some of them will use collage like this- which will certainly make them unusual! Thank you again, Ceri.
I have just watched this twice & will watch a third time while taking notes! Your discussion on how to make a master board was very clear & will help me be more successful with that task. I’m intrigued by your system of little boxes that you bring out in order to help with the layers of of ephemera. I may not be quite so organized, but I think it’s a process from which I would benefit! I really liked your idea of looking into the piece of art to ponder it’s meaning, & of how all those layers produce a deeper understanding of the piece itself! That’s fantastic & here I thought it was just a silly little card! I think your boxes of various ephemera gives a bit of structure to one’s creativity & at least for me, that can’t hurt! I loved it when you cut the one card into two, wow, I thought, you can do that?! Thank you for such a thought provoking video, please make more! Erica❤
You have become one of my top creators to watch. I am new to journaling and you make the process understandable and enjoyable to watch. I am learning so much and wanted to thank you so very much for sharing your thought process, which I can relate to.
Love love love these cards, you also explained well. Things finally make more sense to me. My next journal will be better and will show who I am, things I like. This whole idea is very healing for me. Thanks so much.
I love your collage process! I have not been brave enough in my 7 years of journal making to attempt a collage. I see them here on RUclips and places like Pinterest and just love the look. Mind you, I "collaged" fabrics when my girls were little, making them one-of-a-kind clothing until they became teenagers. And now I do the same for my grandchildren. But you, sir, are guiding me out of my comfort zone with your straightforward, step-by-step process. As I am writing this, I am realizing what is holding me back: instructions. Sewing patterns come with instructions. Abstract art does not. What you have done is create a formula for those of us whose brain functions in a logical, point A to point B way to build a piece of art from the ground up without the chaos of throwing down a bunch of pieces and hoping it turns out good. Thank you!
I cannot express enough how happy I am to have come across your channel! I COMPLETELY understand everything you say regarding your systematic way of working. You've helped GREATLY, in reminding me that this, too, is how my brain works, so now it's so much easier for me to create things like this! Thank you so much! I love and appreciate all of your videos, and I look forward to watching more 😊💕💕
Looooved this video, thanks Ceri, I have a batch of tags made from a Ceri-inspired master board that I now need to put some Ceri-inspired finishing touches on. I love that so much of what you do doesn’t cost a fortune to create with 😊❤
I look forward to all your videos. I have learned so much as like your methodical way you collage. I feel like after watching you, even I can make something beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Ceri, this is the second time I’ve watched this video and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time I watched it. I love the way you explain things in a professional yet down-to-earth way. Keep doing what you do and keep making these wonderful videos. 😊

Oh Ceri, what a wonderful lesson for a beginner like me. I finally subscribed to your challenge after hearing about you all the time from Gayle Agostinelli. Thank you for sharing your process. I really enjoyed it! 😊
As others have said, it's magical. I loved this and so helpful. Thanks for taking the time to share your art with so many. I sure have a lot of video watching in my future. Have a great day.
I just love your videos always have and was quite upset when suddenly your videos were not available in my country (this was the message) For the longest time - no Ceri!!! and suddenly you popped into my feed. I realize this video was shown a year ago but no better time than during a summer downpour to binge watch and craft along with you! Love those cards and the thought process!! LOL!! You were one of my first videos when I started journaling 14 years ago and I really hope to see more of your videos in the future!
Gee Ceri you are just brilliant and how you put thing together just beautiful, as i have said 💞💞💞💞your videos and especially the time you take too explain it too us , thank you

I love the idea of mass making ephemera. I love watching your process...thanks again Ceri for the inspiration...I am attending a craft day with friends this weekend and I will be making tags like this.

Great info as always Ceri to watch your process (& very interesting that you're starting to make videos on the basis of what you know you're going to be asked :) For what it's worth, I use my printer to occasionally print interesting b&w digitals that don't have to be 'precise looking' and color them myself -- for anything exotic I e-mail them to a local print shop & they color print them for about 50 cents a page, not often so a couple of dollars here & there is much more prudent than investing in a color printer.

Hi Ceri, I watch your friend Gai all the time…and have on.y watched Tim once …but most people I watch mention him…lol . Love watching your process. Happy crafting!
#ceri I think you are such a enormous personality. You will definitely be a huge you tube dude if you keep making videos. I suggest doing a challenge, like a 30 or 60 day challenge and create a hash tag for it for instagram etc. Crafters luv them and u would attract a ton of subscribers I think. You are a presumptuous larger than life personality style.... that sounds negative but I think that is why I love to watch you and I yell at you too! Great luck building your brand and doing well at bigger and better things! I think you are smart enough to go farther than just you tube...you have my vote anyhow!!! Thanks for the wonderful content!
😊I loved that! Watched it from end to end...and even rolled it back a few times. I've not done this, ever. But I think it might get me back on track.(Lyn)
Wow, Ceri! Another well done video😂 explaining and showing your collage technique and showing what works and what does not. I especially liked towards the end, how you decided to cut the card into a tag and card because of a positioning dislike. I feel so bad for you when you make your videos and you feel the need to apologize to the person or persons who feel you didn’t do something the right way, or the sound wasn’t just so, or whatever else they decided to have an issue with! I’ll bet you the majority of those complainers couldn’t even do a video on here and get people to watch it….they always gotta bring people down ….Ceri, I would like it if you wouldn’t give those people your energy by even acknowledging whatever their issue is….they can pound salt and go cry on someone else’s page. You, your work, your technique, your everything is perfect, no issues at all!!!
I very much enjoyed this video. I hope it’s OK-I did screenshots at the end when you showed each journal card and the tag. I plan to use them as inspiration!

Thank you for the support and happy new year.
Lovely.
I hope you have a delightful day. Love&hugs to you and Biscuit.
Thank you Darcy, loving your videos lately, such fun as always.
Thanks! 🥰
I love your journal cards. Thank you for showing us how you do them. Greeting Simone
You are so welcome, thank you Simone.
Your instincts are perfect! Beautiful cards!
Thank you so much
Fab video cer, love your approach. 1 of my favourite things to do making master boards
Yes Helen and that reminds me I need to make some more of those to use up some scraps.
@@CeriGriffiths its a never ending battle
I very much enjoyed this video. I hope it’s OK-I did screenshots at the end when you showed each journal card and the tag. I plan to use them as inspiration!
All good
