To the person asking about what to do before joining the Navy, they should consider joining the Navy Sea Cadet Corps. You attend training and can even go to boot camp early, you also can gain rank (up to E-3 I believe) before entering service. You get priority in assignments and rating and all kinds of nice benefits. It is similar to the reserves, 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks annual training. I really loved it and enjoyed marching in parades and met some great people. Love the videos keep it up JT.
If able to, join a JROTC through highschool. because if completed 3 years you'll get automatic E-3 going into bootcamp, if completed 2 years, you should get automatic E-2. you'll know uniforms, facing, marching, and some military knowledge. thats what I did and man o man, bootcamp was cake AF.
song at the end is Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden in case anyone is wondering, I know I end up wondering what outro songs are on many videos, so, hope it helps!
You deserve a hella lot more subscribers! Oh and thank you for being so open and awsome. It's nice to hear (maybe a video title?) the bad, the good, and the ugly. Keep up that grind! :D
I'm not considering the Navy, I'm talking with an Army recruiter, but I love hearing your stories man! You provide a lot of general information that really helped me. You motivated me to study for my ASVAB and I scored a 95. I hope you get that 100k subs in 2017, you deserve it. Thank you for your service!
I have an answer for that young buck in high school wanting to join the navy. Do jrotc! Doesn't matter which branch if you can't find navy but jrotc will definitely prepare you!
Orders to the sentry 1. Take charge of this post and all government property I view 2.walk my post in a military manner keeping always on the alert and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing 3. Report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce 4. Repeat all calls from any post more distant from the guardhouse than my own(or quarter deck than my own) 5. Quit my post only when properly relived 6. Receive, obey, and pass onto the sentry who relives me, all orders from the commanding officer, commanding duty officer, officer of the deck, and officers and petty officers of the watch only. 7. Talk to no one except in the line of duty 8. Give the alarm Incase of fire or disorder 9call the officer of the deck in any case not covered by instructions 10 salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased 11. Be especially watchful at night and during the time for challenging, challenge all persons on or near my post and, allow no one to pass without the proper authority
#AskJT WHAAAAAAAAT UP FAMMMM. Was there any if not many times that you regretted joining the Navy? If so what were the reasons? Also, I appreciate all the work you do with this channel.keep it up man ! I'm processing and this channel has helped me a lot.
“Fuck yeah! The carriers getting fucked up!!!” Wouldn’t that be the opposite of what you want if you are on said carrier.....in a huge ass storm......in the middle of the ocean? Lol
#ASKJT Hey JT! I've recently started thinking about joining the Navy but in your opinion is it better to join right out of high school or should I go to college first?
Hey JT nice ending song. I'm prior enlisted in the Navy. Unfortunately I was only able to complete 1.5 years. I screwed up my back. Thinking about going back now that I'm healed. Out of curiosity can you make a video on your navy awards and challenge coins?
#askJT If our going through a giant storm big enough to rock the carrier, does the small boys have to extra safety precautions to prevent any damages to the smaller ships? btw thank you for you service.
I remember when I was at AIC school the instructors used to tell me to "drink decaf". I bought the logs of dip but I didn't sell it for profit. My longest underway period was 107 days from sea detail pulling out of Singapore to sea detail pulling into Perth. We were fairly grumpy by the end of it. If you are eligible registere with the VA. I found reintegration into civilian life challenging. Wasn't Momsen a DDG? I was stationed on Benfold DDG 61. I loved it.
TA gives you 16 credits a year you could get an AA/BA in about 3/4 years super slow without trying to blow your brains out from the stress of work and school that's 4-5 classes A YEAR depending on how many credits you're getting per class. But its good to take classes before and during. You'll have your GI bill but you can save it for a BA or Masters. MyCAA is for spouses and is a pretty good starting school type of program. And if you're sea duty you apparently can mix NCPACE and TA, so when you're doing nothing on the ship with ncpace you can finish a few classes on your own time and just send it in.... the ship gets boring......you should learn to cut hair $ and sell dip at the same time hustle...... >.< . Great video :D.
Hey JT, I'm interested in joining the Navy but to make the weight requirement I have to lose between 80-100 pounds. I know you're not physical trainer or anything, but do you have any tips for me to lose the weight and to stay motivated?
#AskJT What up fam!? I'm currently thinking about choosing AG ( Aerographers Mate ) as a rate. I can't really find that much info about though besides the broad description on google. Have you ever interacted with any AG's? Keep up the great work!
Yo! You're hilarious and thanks for your videos. #AskJT So I am leaving for basic in May as an IS, intelligence specialist. Can you talk about this rate and what I should expect? On the college degree in 1 contract. If your rate lines up with your major it makes it more possible. Example ETs and FCs that major in Computer Science can get high amounts of credit for ATT, A school, and C schools. I am now a FC1 and as a FC2 I got 45 credits toward my B.S. in Computer Science and we serve a 6 year contract so for us and similar ratings it is very possible.
Hey man 420 smoke a Dooby booby bro. Anyways I commented a question on your last video but u didn't reply but a wise man once told me to be persistent soooo..... Hey jt I wanna do the u.s. navy but I wanna do aviation mechanic like you did, I was just wondering how high of a score do I need to get on asvb, is there any math I need to know, I suck at math but I'll study my ass off if I need to, does it help to have some kind of experience for that job, for example working on cars or construction, also can I transfer aviation mechanic job into my civilian life somehow? Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanx, copy and paste skills baby anyways love the videos man, your helping me and a lot of other people with questions we have about military and shiiiznit, peace out bro
Hey if you go to a recruiter if you haven't already ask them if they have the rate information in a binder each rate has a paper explaining the rate in the worst way and the scores needed. It really doesn't have to be that high maybe 50+ on the ASVAB and you should be fine. Just know the AM's work their asses off constantly. They always have something to work on. www.thebalance.com/asvab-score-required-for-navy-ratings-jobs-4053983 ALSO KEEP IN MIND go to www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/Pages/default.aspx go here and look at the enlisted link for the aviation info in community managers click AM. OMG I went to California Lutheran University before it was called University. Read the Blue Jackets Manual if that's still a thing for people who want to help prepare for boot camp
#AskJT first up thanks for the service. My stepdad and uncles all did 20+ years in the navy. And I'm lookin to follow suit. What would you say is a good job to better myself and see the world?
What's up Jt, quick question. I've heard you mention a few times you wanted to go SWCC but you didn't, what made you change up and did you try for it at all?
If you want to get degrees go air force, I have a retired Maj. Gen. associate (Maj. Gen. Givhan) who was a combat pilot in the 80s and 90s who got 3 master's degrees and had the opportunity to earn a PhD while. But he turned it down because he was commandant of AFIT at the time. He is now the vice chancellor of Troy University
Hey fam, I have done pro audio for a hobby for a long time and you don't need a pop shield in front of your mic unless your mouth is like 10 inches or closer. It keeps the spit off the mic and also soften the "P" words. I don't want too seem like a know it all. Love your show.
#AskJT I hear that you have to pay for everything in bootcamp (like hair cut, uniform and so on). Is it true? And if so, how much is it? P.S like the vids and keep up the good work!!!
#ASKJT Hey, i was wondering if you could talk about the being a qm? Would you recommend it? How hard would it be to switch jobs, once you're in the fleet?
