All of them in the building, should have been shot for breaking into the Capitol buildimg, and destroying property, that my taxes are used for the elected, house of representents, and senators.
They act like ignorant, and uneducated people who believe they have a right to do as they please regardless of the law.
They said this is our, building, but they were wrong again. It is not their building alone it belong to every American citizen who pay taxes.

@Silent Nights First, those were Rioters, NOT "protestors" that summer. The protestors were the ones that actually did NOT commit any acts of violence. Second, BLM and Antifa are NOT organizations, they are movements and mottos used by some individuals, but are NOT, in and of themselves, organizations. Third, the riots that summer had NOTHING to do with attempting a terrorist coup against the United States, it was an outpouring or rage over men, women, and children being murdered by gung-ho police officers with bad tempers and firearms, culminating in a man being PUBLICLY TORTURED TO DEATH by a police officer while other officers forcefully stopped anyone from saving the man.
This terrorist attack, and the attacks against the police officers in the capital building, was COMPLETELY different from those violent rioters. Yes, those that committed violence, burned down buildings, SHOULD go to jail for their crimes, that is obvious. Looting, arson, and other such actions ARE crimes, they are NOT protected by the 1st amendment. However, these individuals that breached the capital should be imprisoned as TERORRISTS. As they were attempting a direct attack against our nation's government in an attempt to overthrow that government.

This is the point when they should have opened fire on the crowd. Good way to make them scatter.
The problem is it could also make them angrier. Or, to avoid friendly fire, they would have to shoot at the front of the line which would make everywhere they weren't aiming a place for someone to grab them. If that happened the crowd would 1) have more weapons and 2) those who had them would feel more justified in using them. It could have backfired beyond control and they had no idea when sufficient backup would be there to clean it up.

The horror of having your own fellow citizens, neighbors come after you like that - I can't even imagine. I think I'd feel betrayal, rage, sorrow, confusion, perhaps a death for the desire to "protect" anymore. The attackers need therapy from behind bars. If these were people from another country - what would we have done? Maybe I now I consider them from another country and not fellow citizens, because terror like this - eating their own - is not welcome here.

There was a relatively simple to understand Constitutional crisis happening in PA alone, along with numerous new rules that allowed absolutely rampant abuses of a process that was dramatically changed using the excuse of "covid." It is widely suspected that the FBI, as with the Governor Whitmer fake kidnapping trial run, had infiltrated and influenced groups online and in person and that the FBI pressed them into violence on 1/6.
I don't care about confiscations of tear gas, guns and planted explosives in the days proceeding 1/6.
