    I like the small MX4 for being able to ride it in town and small trails. If I'm going to ride a 100 mi loop. I'll get to KTM 300 out. I personally can't justify spending the money on an e-bike when you can buy a real dirt bike with real suspension right out of the box for the same price. You guys should try some 300 two strokes and ride some single track. Thanks for the review! Always cool to watch

      Coming from a lifelong rider of absolutely every motorcycle type, I completely understand this sentiment. I kept going back and forth for over a year before breaking down and buying a used MX4 and without a doubt it's an entirely different experience.
      I paid $3,800 and have absolutely bought dirt bikes and street bikes for that amount or cheaper. If you need a vehicle, buy a motorcycle, if you want to have some of the most fun you can in sooo many more places, then buy an ebike. It's incredible how quite it is, outside of a 10 feet you can't even hear the chain, which allows you to go just about anywhere and people don't even bat an eye. It can be thrown on most mountain bike racks with the battery out, it's super easy to load up and take around to different places. Motorcycles can sometimes be a pain in the ass to lug around, even the little 2 strokes.
      It's not a motorcycle, it's an entirely different class of bike, and thus really should not be compared to such. It's fun in all the right ways, reliable, and less maintenance overall. Still not going to get rid of my motorcycles, but like they say in the video, the Talaria just gets me out riding more often, in the city and some pretty remote places, and that's ultimately what's important.
      (All that said, nothing beats that 2 stroke smell 😅)

      @@DeathGamer27 100%. I love how small the MX4 is and how you can ride it in the city and mountain bike trails. At the end of the day you just need both lol. Like you say they're just so different. But when you get into a full-size 200 lb+ eBike that costs between 10 and 15,000. That's kind of where I draw the line. They're just not quite there yet. I'm sure they will be in a couple years.

    • @DeathGamer27
      @DeathGamer27 Год назад

      @@barryhallsack8852 agreed, it's outrageous, imo, to spend $10,000+ on an e-bike that can only do 40 miles and then takes 2-4 hours to charge back up. I think that's why the MX4 and Surron Light Bee make so much sense, it's the right price range for the right amount of fun.
      Entirely different subject here, but I think that's why it's been so hard for electric motorcycles to flourish. Even my big ole 1700cc muscle bike gets 40 miles to the gallon (when I'm being nice to it lol), and I can fill up for less than 20 bucks in this ridiculous economy. You just don't have that freedom with e-motorcycles and its gonna be a minute before we reach a point where the charge time and range can compete. Cars are just easier to make electric since you can fit more batteries, larger charger controllers, more amenities, etc.

      @@DeathGamer27I like the MX4 for the beginners and the kids, it's a lot of fun and super easy to ride. But at the end of the day I love my gas powered machines 😆. But the future is coming. I know it's going to be all about the electric in 10 years. Ride safe. Cheers!

      Thanks for your input. I'm trying to decide on an MX4 now, or wait and see how the dragon performs. I'm not keen on a primary belt drive (except on the Norton Atlas). I see how a larger than MX4 bike would nolonger be stealthy around town and more difficult to transport and store.
      I'm 5'11" 230lbs. I have little desire to race or take large jumps, so the MX4 is probably about what I'm looking for. It's still an electric mountain bike, whereas the Ulta Bee or Dragon are "motorcycles" to the casual observer.

    I think your content is great. You often have insightful, well thought out things to say about the bikes. I would like to suggest one thing to increase your production value. The POV footage is an essential part of the content. However, your episodes could really benefit from having more footage of you riding the bikes from different angles. You actually often have the perfect scenario riding with 2 or 3 people consistently. You can just film each other more. The viewers then get to see the bikes working is different scenarios under riders of different sizes. Keep up the awesome work!

      @Talariaboys  Год назад +1

      Yes we agree, more angles are needed and its something we are working on, a lot more was planned for this video however our audio failed us the first time so we actually had to reshoot all the riding clips a few days later and each went out alone. Expect more in the future!

    I have both the Light Bee and the Ultra Bee. I would say the Light Bee is a great dick around bike. Easy to get away with it around town for now till they start cracking down on it. Taking it on the trail is challenging. You can't put nearly a wide enough tire on the back and your tire choice is pretty limited. If I am going to ride trails much prefer the Ultra Bee. More comfortable, suspension can handle the terrain better. I am perfectly fine with my Ultra Bee stock, the Light Bee definitely feels like it needs to be upgraded right away.

    I am thinking about purchasing a Talaria Sting R but I watched a video by someone named “Sur Ronster” about another bike made by Eride that supposedly outperforms the Talaria (both compared “out of the box”) for approximately $500 more than the Sting R including having a bigger battery, better display and lights. I wanted your input on this subject as I consider you the go-to guys in answering this question. I’m concerned about the durability of the Eride in addition to the support I may need with any problems that may occur with the bike. I live in Bluffdale, Utah..a short distance from a Talaria dealer in the Orem area and that is comforting knowing that they are able to address any service related Talaria problems, parts, etc. (I couldn’t find a local dealer for this Eride bike.) I would greatly appreciate your opinion. (PS: I love your videos riding in my/our local, awesome Utah scenery.)

      That’s if you plan to stay put & not significantly upgrade.
      If it were my money I’d do that & wait for whatever comes after the Storm or modify the Storm, which is essentially a decent 2-in-1.

Even the gas powered Chinese bikes are still behind in tech and reliability. but they will get there, and it will be cheaper when they do. It took Japan 10 years to catch up to American and British bikes and now they dominate all offroad. China just has to copy the suspension and provide a power plant that's reliable and they will be be there too.

I come from a 250 yzf background so yes I get the big bike feel... but I imagine it depends on riding circumstances right? Like the whole are we riding casual, trail riding, or track bikes?

  • @jimji2774
    @jimji2774 11 месяцев назад

    You guys are comparing these bikes on neighborhood trails not serious riding areas which is how you ride - now. Try going somewhere with some serious riding conditions and get back to us then. That must also be the reason you haven't mentioned upgrading the suspension in your upgrades as these are light weight forks and shocks on these things.

    • @Talariaboys
      @Talariaboys  11 месяцев назад

      In this case yes because that's all that was available to ride because winter had hit. We do ride much more challenging trails when available. Also you know trails on video look mellow compared to in real life right?

  • @Lilbiscuit22
    @Lilbiscuit22 Год назад +1

    Great video however I think its important to mention that Talarias and light bees are like pit bikes with mountain bike ergonomics and components no matter how much money you put into them. They will never be as confidence inspiring on technical single track with rocky hill climbs or fast whooped out sections or really even fast and flowy trails as a dirt bike. Whereas with the ultrabee you have the ergonomics, suspension, brakes, and weight of a smaller dirt bike. Which really translates to a bike that you will have fun on even if your already experienced, it is capable of doing everything a full size dirt bike is with all the benefits of being smaller, lighter, and electric. If you are new to riding you will be able to continually learn proper riding technique and grow as a rider. A talaria or light bee are awesome and way better choices for pit bike style riding or unfortunately mountain bike trail poaching. An ultra bee and most likely the talaria dragon are better choices for people that want electric dirt bikes for trail/single track riding. Also, I think you guys may be slightly out of touch on your talarias not looking like dirt bikes. To the average person they all look like dirt bikes. Even a guy loading his ktm 250 didn't know my ultra bee was bigger than his talaria, he thought I just had an upgraded light bee until he asked. The ultra bee is a lot smaller than a full size dirt bike even with 21/18.

    every trail you guys ride on your stings i ride my ultra with no problems i live in utah county and ride it on the street and foot hills all the time and have never been pulled over, ride respectfully in utah and you are go to go on a ultra,, do get more looks from cops when i run my 18/21's but i usually ride my stock 19in wheels with Shinko 244 Dual Sport Tires in town and foot hills and 18/21 out trail riding .. just don't ride like an idiot where they can see you....to us the bikes look different but to most people a built sting looks just like a ultra.

    • @Talariaboys

      Ya definitely true! We were talking more without flashing decal kits and wheels, more just the size difference, if both bikes were all black then we feel the ultra bee would be a higher risk to get pulled over.
