I've never bought anything from Alibaba, but I did purchase a Eahora Romeo 2 from Amazon a couple of months ago. I only saw a couple of reviews on it but I was still interested in the bike.
I did exactly what you did with, minus the price negotiations.
The rep I was dealing with, answered all my questions but it took them a few days to respond. No big deal. The bike arrived a month after I ordered it. No damage and everything working. I'll share this video with friends to help them navigate through the online ordering process for buying Ebikes online.

Sounds about right, shipping takes so long because they have load it on a cargo ship, sail accross the world (8-15 days average), go through customs (5-7 days average)… all before the delivery company picks up the bike from the port, processes it through their system and bring it to you (5-9 day average). Sometimes another time crunch can be if the seller doesn’t have the bike on hand and they have to order it from whatever manufacturer. Could be waiting 7+ days before they even bring it to the cargo ship.
My quickest bike came in 34 days and my longest was 57 days.

but that was good advice on how to find a good co. so the bikes came to you were real not some clone bikes I hear they make. cause I can get a surron rite now for 3k total with shipping ang tax...thats not a bad price and I actually spoke to the owner on FaceTime he showed me his office and wearhouse..earnings for the year. how many years in biz and he seemed to check out. even says he has a wearhouse in cali and can get me the bike in less then 2 weeks. so I might just try it on my credit card cause I can always get money back on a cc. so thanks again for the tip I'll ket u know how it worked out.

Including shipping I’ve always at least 900$ off a bike. Surrons at dealers these days are between 4500-5000. You can get them all day on alibaba with shipping for 3500-3600. Shipping also varies depending on the country you are importing. My shipping cost have been about the same as the range you have here. For example the list price on my ultra was 4800 but after shipping it was 5400$, saved 1100$ on that bike. 1000$ isn’t a whole lot for some people but for me it went a long way more money to spend on upgrades 😅

If they are getting their stock next week that means it’s already in customs or about to be . I just feel like they can let you go there and pay when you get there. It seems odd but then again that’s just because I’ve never heard of it before. If you do it, please let me know who you used and can you share the experience a bit?

I did see that the import went up from 7.5% to 25%. Craziness. I’ve never had a shipment held due to lack of payment on that stuff. I’ve always paid one time at the time of purchase and the sellers have covered the import, VAT, etc. I will chat with some of the suppliers to see if they are going to be moving away from that but I can’t imagine they wouldn’t continue to cover the import and just roll that into the quoted prices they give people.
