hello,! I just found out about your channel, I am a practicing Catholic from Argentina. I have the same Bible in Spanish, thank you for the review and I hope you stay in touch. God bless you.
I love this Bible! It's so easy to understand, which for me is very important because I do have a minor learning disability. This Bible also makes Bible Study fun for me. For who I'd have coffee with, in the Old Testament, definitely Esther. I mean her faith and courage was so strong that she was able to get through to her husband and save her people.
Great video Amanda, it's truly one of the best if not the best Bibles I have come across. I just got mine recently thanks to your previous review and am going to spend an afternoon placing the same tabs on them. Love anything related to the Great Adventure!
Have you tried the Didache Bible, RSV-CE 2nd edition by Ignatius Press,. It is amazing, the commentaries are excerpts from the Catechism… amazing. God bless you
Fantastic review, thank you. I acquired a Jerusalem Bible years ago because Mother Angelica likes it. I’m so glad I have one. I also have a pre-Vatican II Bible (Holy Family Edition) from my childhood. I’m going to get this Bible to accompany The Great Adventure cd set that my dad just bought me.
I just received this bible today. Thank you so much for this review and flip through! It is really beautiful! The font is a very comfortable size. I don't think it is large print, but it's not too small. The ink is pretty bold. I really love the way it feels holding and reading it. I LOVE it!! ♥️
I guess im randomly asking but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Jerome Brendan i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Just a note.. A con which no one has mentioned till now.. It's GLUED binding not SEWN... So how long it lasts, only time will tell. Since it is a big book, it might not last long if you use it everyday (Just use it gently)... Also for the price of $60, a glued binding is a let-down... Possibly the only negative... Overall a cool Bible for youth.. And btw a good review : )
I never would have thought about glued binding vs sewn. I am not a book binder and I didn't realize there was a difference. Thank you for letting me know.
I just got this Bible! I like it a lot. I will, however, be going back and forth between a few. I really like my Didache Bible which has commentary from the CCC. It’s amazing. I also use the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible for NT readings. It’s really great, too.
Abraham. He's gonna be my patron saint so I would sit down to a coffee with him. Also I love this review, quick and straight to the point. I ordered it yesterday and now I'm even more excited for when it comes 😁.
I really like my Bible. I don't have the tabs but the Bible has them so it's easy to navigate throughout it. The more you actually use it the easier it is for you to locate the authors so daily reading helps a lot.
I would grab coffee with Jeremiah! I relate to him a lot, and I wrote my first exegesis paper on Jeremiah 20:7ff. The passion of proclaiming the word of God, the frustration of people not listening, but persevering anyway.
Get Bible highlighters. They're specifically designed for Bible pages and theyre made more of a crayon material. They work great, and the hot pink is the only one that kinda bleeds though, so I just don't use that one
I want a Bible with the Apocrypha. I heard you mention Judith, so I know that's in there. Could you show a table of contents so I know if all the Apocrypha books are in this Bible.
Was so excited for this Bible to be rereleased that I pre-ordered it in February. Absolutely thrilled with it and am making my way through the 90 day salvation history reading plan. In the middle of Judges at the moment and having a rough go of it though. Not with the Great Adventure Bible, but with the endless slaughter done by the Isrealites at God's command (Joshua a bit of a rough go as well). Any pointers where I can get direction with this?
I would recommend a faithful Catholic Bible commentary such as the 1950s A Catholic Commentary on Holy Scripture, the Navarre Bible, or the Jerome Biblical Commentary. These can all get pricey to purchase for yourself, so I recommend checking with your local parish or priests to see if you can borrow a copy. It would also be really helpful to discuss the commentaries with a faithful priest if you are able. I hope that is helpful.
How does it present the creation story. I know in the new American Bible st. Joseph edition. Its not literal, and follows the JEPD, theory which is common in all catholic college courses.
do you have a certain method of reading the Bible? you mentioned how you’ve been focusing on the NT and were now rereading Genesis. do you have tips on Bible reading? thank you for the review!!
If I could have coffee with anyone in the Old Testament it would probably be the prophet Isaiah. I really wish I had a more impressive answer as to why but honestly it's just because his is my favorite book of the Old Testament atm.
How has the Great Adventure bible's binding holding up now? I've read that it has glued binding and there has been many opinions about it. Personally I don't mind if its glued, but through constant use over a year or so, is it still strong?
I’m greedy I would choose Job and Isiah , job is perfect example and rust in God through various trials and I just love Isiah especially his depito of the suffering servant - our Lord
I would have dinner with Abraham because he is Our Father figure in the Faith, Also because i want to learn his wisdom and another person is the prophet Samuel he teaches us in the bible why Active Listening is important for Our Lives in the Catholic Church with God and people
It's NOT real leather, despite the description. It's a poorly made "pleather" Bible w/ very fragile (easy to tear) pages, made in China. I've had mine for a week & it still smells strongly of polyurethane. Extremely disappointed for a $60 Bible.

I've really gotten into the bible this year, and I'm waitting til Christmas to ask for it!
A coffe with Job would be awesome. He has been through a lot and still faithful to God.

This is a Catholic Bible so it does include the deuterocaninical books (called apocrypha by non-Catholics).
Great video thank you. I just ordered from ascension press

Do you like this Bible? Contemplating purchasing.
Bibletimeline from Great Adventure.......ascension.com. Or .......jeffcavins.com.
Phenomenal.
I have taken it three times
I wish it wasn't leather
It’s not real leather
For real? That's a game changer. Thanks Diane
It is faux leather. :-)
Thanks Amanda :)

The Bible is a reverant book to be read and cherished. Great adventure bible is a bible textbook for school. Not buying that
The Great Adventure Bible has the additions that make is good as a study Bible. My go to Bible for just reading is the RSV-2CE Ignatius Bible.
