Jeep Gladiator Truck Overland by EVO Off-Road Ma Bell Massachusetts Nitto JL JT Experience Part 3

- Day 2 of Lobster Quest, the Nitto JL/JT Experience presented by KMC Wheels started off with a 150 mile road trip across the state of New York, up though Connecticut and into western Massachusetts. Our destination? An old Bell Telephone pole line right of way that has since become a short but awesome trail known as, Mabell (pronounced, 'Ma Bell' and as in, Massachusetts Bell). As luck would have it, the good guys from NORA were waiting for us at the trail head and ready to lead the way. I should note that this was the first of two trails that we got to run and thanks to all the rain that we'd been getting, you know we were in for a hell of a good time! Certainly, the super slippery rocks made it a real challenge for both JL Wranglers and JT Gladiators alike.

I'm not going to lie, I live in the eastern US and it helps my self-esteem watching the "pros" struggle a little on my turf. I've been watching these guys crawl unbelievable trails out west for a long time and I was wondering what their secret was. Apparently it is Grippy western rocks. Great job EO.

You said it, the difference between west and east coast is significant. Someone needs to import some of those western boulders and make them slime proof for a west coast off-road park experience here on the east coast. We'd be happy to export our humidity in return, it's only fair.

Thank you for another great video. I'm a caregiver for my dad, he has dementia , so I don't get to go offroading as much as I would like to. I enjoy watching videos of people getting out and having fun. Your videos keep me inspired to get my Jeep ready to take trips and offroad in amazing places like you have been at. Too early for a cracked windshield......even for a Jeep! Glad that was a false alarm. Add some snow & ice into that mix of slimy rocks & you have eastern Canadian wheeling! Great video! Can’t wait for the next instalment!

Glad to see you get the full northeast experience. Negative traction, constant rain, tree nuts falling on your roof and sounding like a gunshot, pine strands looking like windshield cracks... you've got it all! The colors are nice though.

Sorry the weather couldn’t have been better, but as you found out with Ma Bell, that can add an interesting twist. Mel was having such a good time he forgot what state he was in.

LOL - it was a good time for all. The Mud Grapplers hooked up the best and the Mile star Patagonias just down right sucked.

"Driving way faster than I should" - on the highway, on unbalanced 40s w/ beadlocks, in a truck (with a v6!) that will wheel hard trails. Modern technology is amazing. 20 years ago, 50mph was "way faster than I should" on any offroad rig short of a desert race truck.
It really is amazing how far things have come. We literally did 80-85 mph the whole way out. All 3,000 miles and then back again.
Awesome wheeling Eddie, and everyone else that's there. Your Gladiator looks awesome. Evo did a fantastic job on building it. Some of those rocks were slicker than snail snot, but you got it done.
LOL - from what the locals to me, it's always pretty slick but the rain we got that morning made it that much slicker. Glad you like the build :)

Yeah, Brian was on that line and sitting vertically for 10 minutes or more. It was a great attempt but one that didn't work out. For the sake of keeping the video interesting, we edited it down.

love the way out of control gas stomping! also love how the participants represent a wide range of jeep modifications and equipment. there are 4 doors with big lifts but also 4 door trucks with big lifts. i think i saw a 35 inch tire too! what is the fun in watching identical rigs with identical driving styles mash their way up beautiful trails?

I live in north east , well South Mountain , PA right In the Appalachian mountains an this is the exact terrain/rocks we have . Eddie you know Cozdude , we wheeled a couple times at rousch creek. I have to say , it’s SOOOO Satisfying seeing you guys wheel our neck of the woods. It’s cool how it’s a unique experience for you. We are used to the thick woods , tight trails an slick rocks.
I can’t wait to have that feeling when I get out to Moab for the first time.

Another great video Eddie. Mabell is actually getting harder these days. It's gotten so rutted out. One winter we climbed up to the top with those ledges covered in ice and two feet of snow. When we got to the top, we went sledding down the mountain. It was a blast but probably won't do it again, lol.
I appreciate the heads up. I wasn't sure what the trail was normally like but it sure seemed rutted up to me. Sledding down the mountain sounds like fun.
You should buy an EZ-pass for the drive back/time you’ll be out there. It’ll make like easier. Also, jealous you get to see the east coast foliage. Make sure to get some spiced donuts and apple cider
Yeah, hind sight is 20/20 but we did have some of those donuts and apple cider :)
