JK Experience GOLD DUST: BRONCO CANYON Shakedown Jeep Wrangler Off Road Adventure NITTO JKX Part 1

- It'd been a few years since Cindy and I attended a Nitto JK-Experience but being that there were rumors going around that this might be the last one, we decided it was something we had to be a part of. Presented by KMC Wheels, this adventure would be called Gold Dust and while it could have taken place anywhere around the United States, we were lucky enough for it to start right in our home town of Carson City, Nevada. This first in a series of videos to come will introduce you to the participants, show you the shake down run we did on a local trail called Bronco Canyon and let you in on some the wrenching we did over at Camp WAYALIFE. We hope you enjoy seeing Moby back in action again as well as all the other Jeep JK Wranglers that joined in on the fun including PSC Motorsports, Synergy, Exodus Jeeps, Smokin Dave's BBQ and Casey Currie.
This video was independently filmed, edited and produced by Cindy and Eddie Oh of WAYALIFE. The opinions and actions of the individuals featured are in no way affiliated with or attributable to Nitto Tire, KMC Wheels, Off Road Evolution or any of the JK-Experience sponsors.

If this is the last...wow it will be real sad for me. All the vids has been,,so so cool enjoyed everyone..Thanks so much for taking me along.
Actually, we confirmed that there will still be one more for the JK next year. After that, the JL/JT Experience will still continue and/or some sort of Jeep Experience.
@@wayalife Sounds great...thanks so much...
And so it begins and in your backyard👍. They are very fortunate to have Eddie, Cindy and Camp Wayalife on this Epic Adventure. Thanks for sharing👍👍👍🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it :)
“Would that be black magic”.
Mel Wade,
Made me spit my drink out my nose lmao.
Nice to see Moby out rocking it that's a bad ass JK love that Jeep.
Thank you :)
Was thinking the same thing #missing moby
Buddy I gotta tell ya , your music and editing is sublime.. in my humble opinion you make the best wheeling videos on RUclips, esp for us that have to live vicariously threw you and can’t be there with you , so I just wanna thank you for all you do . Great video as always !
Truly flattered. Thank you and we're glad we can share our adventures with you :)
i really like this group, everybody's so down to earth, humble, funny and playing like a close knit family. Some pretty badass looking jeeps too. the rolling camera jeep is the coolest . great video!

Looking forward to the rest of the series, keep up the excellent work! 👍
Great video, a great learning experience and entertaining as always. You have fans out here in NJ.....truly hope I wheel with you someday...Tom
Thanks Eddie now I want coilovers. It only takes money right! Cool video.
LOL - If you live out west, they are the way to go :)
Oh, you have NO idea how quickly I clicked on the notification for your new video! I found your channel about a month ago and I went through and watched all your JL Journal videos, from when you purchased your JL to your latest. Seriously, great content! I especially love the install and test videos. Hoping to be able to build a crawler like yours in the next year or two. God bless you both!
Now, I’ll go ahead and watch this video, while you prepare the next one and the next after that and... so on. I hope you never stop!
Awesome! We're so glad to hear you enjoy our videos :)
"It's been awhile since we've..." MEL: "Get over here and help load/unload the swag bags Eddie!" Another great video guys...keep 'em coming...
LOL - so glad you enjoyed it :)
Eddie. Thanks for another Moby video. I have loved these videos from the beginning. But I always tell you I like Moby the best. :)
Moby is our favorite. So glad you enjoyed the video :)
Beautiful area. Spent some time in the area when we went to the Reno Air Races 4 years ago. Virginia city is a cool town, and they had a Steam Punk parade the day we visited. Safe Travels Brother and God Bless!
Thank you :)
Great to watch again, keep having fun.
Thank you :)
Again… One Word… Awesome! Thank You Eddie and Cindy for a Great Friday Night! 😃🍺
We're so happy that you enjoyed it :)
Living vicariously through these built rigs. Great video!
Awesome, so glad we could share this with you :)
Woweee, you said it! That Moby is a BEAST. So much fun to watch.

MOBY!!!!! I so missed these JK experience videos!!!!!!!
LOL - glad we could bring it back to you :)
was wondering what happened to the JKX, thanks so much for throwing this together. Your previous JKX vids are what got me into the Jeep lifestyle. Love it!
Awesome to hear and it's good to be back :)
Always good to see Moby out on the rocks! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip.
It's always a good time wheeling Moby :)
I recently just watched the JK-Experience that was in 2014 in the Pacific Northwest(where I grew up) and watching this now(that I’ve been eagerly waiting for) makes me wish Oahu, Hawaii had more. I will say watch your videos Eddie I’ve been making a bucket list of places I want to go and see. Awesome video! Looking forward to part 2!
So glad you've been enjoying our videos and we're working hard on part 2 now :)
Nice to see how well is Moby working. Awesome video as usual. Thanks Cindy and Eddie.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video :)
Another great vid! I can’t wait to see the upcoming episodes!

@@wayalife Excited.....not blowing smoke up your fifth point of contact when I say you guys are inspiring. Happy to see Moby back out there in top form and perfection.
Just made my weekend better!! Thanks for awesome video as always!! Wayalife all they way !!👍😁
Awesome! So glad to hear it :)
Great video! Moby is a beast....stepped over everything like it was on a paved road - the driver may have had a little bit to do with how easy it looked. Any video ending with Harris under a Jeep in a parking lot late at night is a good video! Good times! Can’t wait for the next instalment!
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it and we're working hard on part 2 now :)
Been waiting for this!!! The first series on RUclips I ever watched was the JK Experience when you guys were in the PNW. That was the series that made me start It’s a Bug’s Life. ❤️🐞
No kidding, that's awesome. Glad to know we were able to inspire you to start your channel.
Another excellent video! Always a great time watching your adventures!
Thank you. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
You guys got people from everywhere except Minnesota . Very nice video as always thanks for sharing

As always, lol I love your videos. Specially with the history behind them. Looking forward to the next one. Yall keep up the wonderful uploads. Squirrel 😃
Glad to hear it and you can be sure more videos are coming your way :)
@@wayalife I'm glad. Hopefully once I get my rig re-built I'll be able to get off road more. Be cool to meet y'all out some where for a trip.
Always love seeing a Wayalife video. Love the off roading and rock climbing. Great stuff!
Awesome, glad to hear you enjoyed the video :)
Another great video as usual Eddie and Cindy love you guys see you soon.....
Thanks Harris! As always, it was great to spend a week wheeling with you :)
Moby is not just a pretty face, it’s a great performer too.... I love this car man! You’re a very lucky man! 😉
LOL - Thank you. It's taken a years to get him to this point but yes, he's a performer now :)
As always great video.
Thank you :)
Your life is so awesome. I love everything in the video.

Great video. Love Carson City
Thank you and yes, we love it up here :)
An actual key in an ignition!!!! 😎
LOL - I know, right? :)
Super Nice event, enjoy! Reminds me to my old 2015 Rubicon JK. Greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸✌️💪👍
Nice trail love Virginia city cool place goddess of truth haven’t heard that for 30 ish years lol moby just rolled right thru 👍 as always be safe
Just love the style of the JK's. I have admired Jeeps for many decades, with my favourite being the JK. Especially the 2 door, manual. Noticed the JL at 20.28.
Yeah, the JL was used by the official film crew.
Glad to see you on this one. Been a while for sure.... love these videos of this event.
Awesome, so glad you enjoy them :)
Lunch break couldn’t come soon enough lol. Awesome video can’t wait for more
So glad you enjoyed it :) More to come soon.
Fantastic video!! Looking forward to the coming ones!
So glad to hear it :)
Glad to see y’all back riding.
LOL - we never stopped, just haven't been running our JK as much.
Great video thank you!
You bet, glad you enjoyed it :)
Another great video
Thank you :)
Another great video Eddie, WAYALIFE is the whole reason me buying a jk and building it! Have been watching for 6+ years! Thanks for the great content bud!
That's awesome! Thank you for being with us for as long as you have :)
Ive been waiting for so long for new content. I cant wait to be a part if JKX
Awesome. Hope you enjoyed it :)
Looks like a blast ... i would love to wheel with y’all one of these days !!!
That would be cool if you could someday :)
Wayalife I am going to start rebuilding my suspension and replacing gears and drive shafts starting around April !!! After that I will be ready for Rubicon trail … that is my top trail I want to do !!!
Wow Mel that was to funny u guys are the best watched this video 2ic lol grate job cheers 🍻
Once I get my jeep up to your level I will be out to the west coast to ride with u guys!
Another great video. You are the most knowledgeable and professional of all RUclips Jeepers.
I'm truly humbled that you would say as much.
2:44 That IS clean! Nice touch.
The half Doors looks so Nice on all the JK’s 👍
Outstanding job thanks
Running a stock shaft on such a well built rig, massive props to that guy!
It's just running bolt on coilovers and 37's. Nothing wrong with a factory shaft with that setup.
Love your videos great job.
Thank you :)
Finally Bronco Canyon!!!
Yeah, this is a trail we've been needing to make a video of for a while now. Glad we could do it for the JKX.
@@wayalife we talked about this at EJS so I was happy to see it pop up today. ( Tall guy yellow CJ7). Once again nice job. Maybe one day I'll join you guys 😉.
Hey, I remember you. We met in front of the Shell station. Hope you're doing well :)
@@wayalife , yeah that's me. Doing great looking forward to more videos and good times wheeling.
great video Eddy
Thank you :)
always liked the jk videos, maybe because I have a jk. I have the cowl wayalife decals on it.
Awesome :)
I can’t believe it will be the latest Nitto JK Experience. This cannot be!
It's not. That was just the rumor that was going on when we started filming this series. We've since confirmed there will be at least one more.
@@wayalife Fine. Now I am calm!
Shoot! I live in Reno. I would have loved to watch some of the action.
Always wondered what came in those nitto gear bags. They actually include a fair bit of goodies.
LOL - well, glad we could share that with you then :)
Nice job and video and all the vehicles! If you were starting out what year would you recommend a person to get? I would like to build one as a daily driver and take off road. Any info would be great!
If you have the budget, I would get a new JL Wrangler. Right out of the box, they are far better than a JK. If you're working on a budget, I would look at a 2014-up as they'll come with the 3.6L engine and not have the problems that the 2012-13 had.
Love your vids man. Been binging a bunch lately lol. That being said... do you know the RUclips of the guys who has that crazy camera set up (if they have one)?
You can find their videos on the JK-Experience channel.
@@wayalife 🤙 awesome thank you. Keep up the good work my man, your videos are killer.
Ran this trail today for the first time. Left some paint and metal behind, took some scratches and dents home.
Awesome :)
Awww, man I was hoping to see an install on that transmission cooler. I'm wanting to do one of those setups on my fiancee's JK. Any chance you would do a detailed video on those eventually?
Awesome video! Too bad it’s the last JKX. I’ve always wondered what happened with Rubicat.
Did I hear you right? Is it the last one???
That was the rumor when we started filming however, we later confirmed there will be one more next year.
Another awesome video! Cant wait for the rest. I was curious why theres not anymore 2 door jks? Do none apply?
Honestly, if they applied, I can almost guarantee you that they would be asked to come along.
These shows are great you should pitch them to the travel channel so more people can enjoy these.
We're flattered that you would think they're good enough for a real TV show.
Especially the bust series you just made some history of the nation along with good clean wheeling.
So great to see this today. Did Harris ever get to sleep, or did he just keep working on his Jeep? :)
Also hoping to make a route 50 trip one day from Ocean City, MD to Sacramento, CA - maybe I should spend some time near Carson City to do some wheeling.
LOL - actually, he was working on the JK Mel borrowed for the trip and yes, he went to bed after that.
Great video as always. How’s that JL radiator fan coming along? Any plans on doing a write-up? Have fun and ride safe 🤙🏻
There are a couple of times in the video where you can really hear it. So far, it's doing a great job. Need to do a bit more long term testing before I can say for sure though.
Hey. You have interesting routes. Cool video! I also really like your cars. I also take people like you. I want to buy a Rubicon, but I will go to the stock. In Russia banned custom. good luck!🤝
yeah awesome vid to start the weekend with! How about swapping one of your rigs for that Red? ;)
LOL - ummm, yeah, no.
Bucket list #1 Shots with Eddie
LOL - I would love to have a drink with you my friend :)
I need to find a group like this in NJ or PA!
Love this and all your videos. However, I'm a little disheartened, do all these jeeps on jk and jl experience have hemis and LS motors? That price point for these experiences isn't realistic for us.
The lead JK on this trip was running 37" tires and a 3.6L motor. All the support JK's were as well.
Awesome video as always. Question, after you locked your hubs you were turning something on the transfer case? What was that?
That was the EVO No Limits knob. I installed it on my old Rubicon e-disconnect as it died a long time ago. Now I can still use it without power :)
I have never seen a suspension like yours, can you explain how it works, specially your rear suspension!
What you're looking at is an EVO DTD or double throw down system installed on an EVO long arm kit. The coilovers replace the standard coils and shocks but we also have triple bypass shocks installed with them. What you see in the rear is the EVO Lever system which utilizes a cantilever design. This allows us to run 8" coilovers mounted horizontally and still have 14" of vertical travel.
Did you have the upgraded axles for this trip? Sorry I'm watching all these videos out of order
It wasn't required but a lot of us were running aftermarket axles.
Heard you mention this is the last JKX. Are they transitioning into JLX?
As always, good stuff!!!
They already have a JKX and we were on the first one that took place last November. ruclips.net/p/PLgwBN5w3KUZwjJl5aHZnMQ8RZSCoye6fN
That being said, we confirmed on this JKX that there will be one more coming next year.
I'm going to be in Dayton in December how would I get to the petroglyphs
No Randy Byers from Texas? Criminal...😄
He's on this trip. You can see him in the very beginning of the video. He was running tailgunner and we just couldn't get shots of his rig. At least, not on this episode.
Eddie did you sell Rubicat??
Unfortunately, yes. We sold it to Jason, the guy in this video who came all the way out from PA to attend this event.
This may be a weird question (famous last words!) but has anyone experimented with putting a small amount of sealant in the tires when airing down? Keep the bead sealed while running at even lower PSI than normal for the rims?
You really do NOT want to do anything like that. Even if you could get the tire off with ease, it could prevent new tires from seating and sealing properly. Outside of running bead locks, your better bet would be to run a narrower wheel as that will help keep your tires seated when aired down. This is what we did back in the day and called it a poor mans beadlock. Of course, not airing down so low will help too.
@@wayalife Next step, vice locking rims!!! Or mattracks are always good.
Finial one............. :(
Guess that answers the question if I will get to attend one.
Actually, we confirmed on this trip that there would be one more next year so, there's still hope. After that, we'll most likely see a combined Jeep Experience.
Wayalife sweet! I’m happy to hear that :)
Wayalife and I missed the Rubicon, this would have been the perfect year, awesome.
Eddy!!! Help me get one of those nitto stickers for my jk!!! I live in garnerville just down the street from you.
Sorry, wish I could help but they were provided by Nitto as a part of the event.
Moby made that look to easy
LOL - that's what Moby was made to do :)
What would someone spend $ on something like the Rubicon?
👏
So is Eddie a Historian as well as Jeep guy?
LOL - I don't know if I'd say I'm a historian but I do have a passion for history :)
What size lift do you have on Moby
We currently have his coilovers setup to a little over 3.5" of lift. We've done a lot of trimming to make this possible and we still rub a bit.
Your Jeep did awesome and thank you for the info of your Jeep
Keyed ignition??? Lol what's that?
Being that this is the last JKX, I can't help but get the feeling that this is like some sort of last hoorah for JKs before putting them out to pasture. Why discontinue the event? I know they'll continue on with JLX but it's as if they're saying JKs are a thing of the past and obsolete.
Actually, that was just the rumor going on when we started the trip. By the end of the trip, Mel confirmed there would still be one more next year. After that, there is talk of just doing the "Jeep Experience" and possibly opening it up to both JK's and JL's.
@@wayalife that would be perfect! No need to segregate the different generations of Jeeps, as if there wasn't enough segregation within the Jeep community already...this gen vs that gen, 2 dr vs 4 dr etc. I personally think that a more diverse group of rigs would be a perfect way to present a visual Jeep scrapbook.
I’m stocked to hear that! You’re videos got me into Jeeping it be cool to come full circle and attend an event.
