In this video I really push the limits of the Bronco Sport. Back at Uwharrie off-road park, I decided to go straight to the most difficult trails first. Daniel trail is very steep and has a lot of very large rocks to negotiate. other parts of the trail are very loose and offer very little traction. But the Bronco Sport is like a little mountain goat! It did sustain some damage to the plastic door protector and lower part of the front bumper, but that is to be expected since this car is almost showroom stock. In a later part of the video, I test out the Mud/Ruts setting on the G.O.A.T. modes. It didn't go so well. But for what it is, essentially a grocery getting crossover, it is truly amazing off-road! Thanks to all who watch and please take a minute to share this video with a friend.

Funny thing. My Wife said to me she really wanted a Bronco. I was excited. Took her to the Dealership, showed her the Bronco and she said, what’s that? That’s when my heart sunk. She meant the Bronco Sport. So, I’ve been watching and reading up on the Sport so I could show her she should get The Bronco instead. After everything I’ve read, watched and seen. Im good with the Sport. She’s not going rock climbing. We live in South Florida. Very impressed.

@@SpaceTravel1776 the problem is the wait for the bigger Broncos. I believe it's still over a year. We just picked up our sport lastnight which we ordered the day after Thanksgiving in November. The one thing that keeps me from having a Bronco Sport in my driveway is the tow capacity. Maxes out at 2200 lbs. You can get the Escape with the same engine rated at 3500 lbs. I don't intend on doing any serious off-road with one but it would be nice to tow the side by side (wolverine x2 xtr @ 1700lbs plus trailer weight). The Maverick you can get the 4K tow rating but in order to get the dual clutch rear locker like the Bronco Sport they force you to buy it in the Tremor package which then drops the Maverick down to 2k tow. Each model is so close to checking off all the boxes but not quite.

Going from a bouncy, truly rugged, loud Wrangler... getting into a Bronco Sport will feel like a luxury class vehicle 😂 I am actually going to go and look at one today! But definitely want to do a little more research on the lift and tire possibilities!

You can take traction control off regularly, but if you hold down for the traction control off for like 10 seconds it will go into advanced traction control off mode. Truly removing it fully because it disable stability control as well, as far as I can tell on my own bronco sport

I know about the stabilitrak disable feature, but it doesn't help. We did extensive testing in the snow. There will be a video coming out soon talking about some of the things I dislike about the bronco sport, that is one of them!

Great video. And what timing I’m thinking about buying a bronco sport Badland for my Dailey driver. It’s nice to know its capability even though the worst I’ll do is drive through my local mall parking lot.

This video means the Bronco Sport should be MORE then capable for anything I would ever do. I want to go off road but never really want to go rock climbing or go through bogs 2 feet deep.

The sport and maverick are much more capable than people thought. 99% of people will not offroad trails like this.

@HRG TV its 'the' best offroading video for bronco sport that I've ever seen. Im hooked & subscribed. Amazing content, would've like a bit more of outside perspective of the vehicle when tackling trails but I understand the limitation when doing solo filming. Kudos!!

@@hrg_tv 2.5" for the BS Badlands? Are we going to have to tune the engine to perform better with even larger tires? I'm already looking at tuners for my 2.0 EcoBoost.

You can gain more flex just disconect the fron sway bars. In the bronco is easy you can put links like a jeep.

Good to see the capabilities of the Bronco Sport but this is clearly not the terrain anyone should put the vehicle through if there is no real need. The damage repair bill is a big disincentive.

I am not trying to 1 up this vehicle but rather bring attention for the new to offroading people how most computer controlled systems have let us down. I went up this in the rain with no spotter in my 98 dodge 1500 quad cab short bed stock height with factory rear limited slip and k02 tires 33 inch. I never had to stop or reposition. I put it in 4x4 low 1st gear ( automatic) and just drove up.
So if you want to do these types of trails or you need dependable transportation deep into wilderness then get a vehicle with this old technology. Get these new vehicles for comfort and to get you the the store and back in the snow on pavement or dirt roads

Any plans on making a custom bumper to give you a bit better approach angle? I took mine out to Bulldog Canyon here in Phoenix and it made it the whole way! Some minor scrapes on the bottom but it never let me down. This was on stock height as well, looking forward to getting a lift and maybe a tad bigger sidewall.

Are you aired down at all in this video? It looks like the tires are at full pressure but I know that in video's it can sometimes be deceiving. My wife has the Badlands and we'll be doing some lift/tires and such at some point. That's how I found my way to your videos. Thanks for the information.

Seems like bumper trims are needed for these things. I just got a Base today and plan to lift it and trim the bumper.

  • @kemosabe5120

Unbelievable. Is the Badlands the only trim with locking diffs?

    • @hrg_tv
      @hrg_tv  2 года назад +2

Yes. Although they are not locking diffs in the traditional sense. It is more electronic and less mechanical. Call it what you will, the results are proof that the system is effective.
