I like the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with kevlars at 35 inches with a 4 inch (10 cm) lift which could be done for around $2000 to $3000 US for both depending upon your area and tire stock availability! Since the $40,000 is is decently equipped Bronco Sport price + $3000 worth of tires and lift, that is STILL about $11,000 cheaper than the highly-marked up Jeep Wrangler Sahara edition and $16,000 cheaper than the really high-markup Jeep Wrangler Rubicon edition! The Bronco Sport is very likely to go over though. It’s a compact crossover, and that’s the most popular CUV segment over there. The fact it evokes the old-school Defenders and has decent gas mileage probably won’t hurt either.

    I've had my bronco sport big bend for about a month now in Austin area. I have been blown away by its functionality. I specifically wanted something that was a solid daily driver but had the ability to get me and the family out and about in state/national parks as well as our states many unimproved roads without problem. As much as I would love a full size truck or 4runner, etc. I simply don't need one nor does it make financial sense right now. My sport has done very well in heavy rains, light mud and my actual driving style. While I fully intend on a full size truck or Bronco in the future I'm happy with what I have right now and it doesn't look half bad. Plus I got a roof rack and rod carrier so I'm all set for now

    The editing in this was great. I enjoy the slip tests but watching them clean through sometimes is a bit slow for me. Placing the in between the real world tests is great!
    Glad to see this do so well...and bummed lol. Our second vehicle is a subi Forester sport 2019 and we love it. Done everything I need on fire roads and plowed snow to go up to Mt Hood. I don't use it for what it isn't, for camping/overlanding we have an F150 for that on 34s. And in any instance rock crawling like with a jeep isn't what we need/want. I do like the look of the Bronco Sport and think it has hints if the old disco with the roof line. The msrp is higher than the subi Forester sport, but that engine is way more powerful and the awd system seem a lot better.

    Nothing to do with this Baby Bronco, but Tommy has to get it out of his head that IFS and articulation are mutually exclusive. The majority of Ultra4 offroaders are now running IFS. Now it's significantly more expensive and complex (this also makes modifications more difficult) to get the same amount of articulation out of IFS, but it's certainly not impossible. The only real advantage a solid axel has, aside from cost and simplicity, is improved steering angle.

    • @devinbender8428
      @devinbender8428 3 года назад

      Agreed. If your going to upgrade your vehicle for HARDCORE rock crawling then the cost difference is marginal.
      But lifting it and throwing on som 40s like most bros do with out upgrading everything else, yea SFS is cheaper.
      But at the end of the day IFS is still very very very good off road.
      5/7 past years winners of the hammers is IFS. Just because it handles so much better on the non rock parts.

      @@jerroldshelton9367 that may be true but let's be honest...they don't do that level of extreme on this show. For the tests they do, I think it would still be a fun comparison.
