This is a Logitech Performance MX licences mouse design from 1999. I got this Product almost 4 years ago in 2000, side buttons need a driver option off Amazon software and is similar to Logitech Setpoint software. its is a moderate replacement mouse for the Logitech Performance MX. Only real concern was the side buttons are relatively small and the overall weight of the mouse if fairly light. Users of the Logitech Performance MX will be use to the heavy metal frame of the mouse and better overall materials used.

how is the battery life? is there a lag when you click?

Depends upon how you are using it and the batteries. I used some Rayovac and they lasted about 18 hours. As far as lag, maybe 10ms at worse, but I generally never noticed any. The lag could have been from my rendering a video.
