Kept this list short for this video! Just stocks i'm consistently buying and using for work. Some other stocks I don't usually use for my client work - but LOVE and didn't mention in the video: Kodak Gold (35mm and 120) Kodak Ultramax Kodak Colorplus Lomo CN400 Lomo Lady Grey Ilford Delta 3200 Fuji FP3000B and FP100c (I was focusing on 35mm and 120 film in this vid, but these are exellent instant films that isn't made anymore) Portra 160 (pretty much never shoot this Portra but whenever I do i'm like...."why don't i shoot this more" Fuji C200 (not sure if this is in production anymore) Please share your favorites in the comments! Always love hearing what y'all are shooting :)
Recently discovered your channel and even though I have little to no interest in film shooting, I'll keep coming back! Some damn incredible images in your portfolio
my favorite films at the moment are Superia Xtra, Ektachrome 64T/100D, Vision3 250D/500T, HP5! primarily shooting between a Minolta A-9 and a Graflex SLR
came here for film recommendations as i'm a digital photographer recently trying 35mm to improve my skills. but just wanna say some of your images are absolutely stunning, gonna follow you on socials now. good work man
My friday is saved! so stoked about weekly uploads, your videos are so inspiring, and the quality is always excellent. Plus you’re just such a nice, awesome guy!!
Love all of those! But my favourite are still Fuji's actual C200, Pro160 and Pro 400H. (I was lucky to have quite a bit of all those stocks in the freezer still, most of which is Pro 400H)
This is sooo helpfull Linus! Especially if one has not shot much film yet but wants to go into it. It's nice to see the many exmaples you provided aswell! One thing I noticed and that kept my jaw wide open, is how good you nailed the exposure on the black and white shots - my god, they were perfect. Did you make a video on nailing exposure already? Very interested in how you manage to shoot these high contrast scenes and what you meter for and also with what you meter.
I'm curious to know if you've have tried some Cine Film Stock like the 250D or 500T? Or even Fuji Eterna? Those are very interesting to shoot in controlled studio settings. As always your creativity and colour management are superb Linus. Great video, even if I already knew/used those film stocks it's a delight seeing your work mate 🙌 👏
thanks man! i like 400H, but since they don't produce it anymore i just don't seek it out. i stick to using stocks that are still in production because for a lot of professional work i only use fresh film
great selection i love them all, except 400d , could not get the results i wanted from it. One film i love too is Gold 200 , specially for personal stuff.
Maybe not everyone will agree (probably even no one, haha), but I still love the vibes of good old Kodak Gold on 35mm, especially in summer. Keeps those early memories of family vacations up, while also keeping me from going broke, haha. Loved the video, as always!
Haha, no worries at all, mate! I guess that is just the pro and con of shooting professionally. Portra appears to be somewhat of an industry standard at the moment and you can often times not sell using a consumer grade film, like Gold, to a client that hired you for professional work. And of course Portra looks gorgeous, so I would definitely shoot it as well when someone else pays me to do so! :D@@linusandhiscamera
I tried Tri-X for the first time since Kodak lowered the price and it's probably all I am going to shoot for awhile. With a scanning workflow it doesn't look that much different than HP5. I think the extra bite and sharpness in the Tri-X grain is definitely worth it the extra 50 cents.
I think lomo 800 would be more popular if it was ever available for purchase. Admittedly I live at the ends of the earth but I can never find it in stock anywhere.

@@linusandhiscameraLinus you don’t like Fp4?! Think it’s worth a go
This is the very first video I see from you and I LOVE your work, amazing. Congrats

appreciate you wesley!!
Best channel on film on RUclips. Thanks man for all the fantastic vidoes.
Really been enoying lomo 800 and Kodak 250d in 120. Been really enjoying the ecn2 process in general actually.
You’re just an incredible photographer dude!! Wow!
thank you so much kevin!
love your film choices linus!
thank you so much chris!!
My favorite out of the list was Cinestill BWXX. The BWXX portraits reminded me as if I was in an art gallery.
this is such a dope comment!! thank you!!

Hi! I haven't. Love all the results i've seen with them, but I usually stick to C41 just because it's easier to get processed
Here we are. Tapped in.
good to see ya again derek!
every lomo frame is heat. they popped. You popped. We all got to witness it
my goat
Great list! I especially liked the BWXX and have been shooting that a lot more (night cityscapes particularly). Do you shoot much Fujifilm stocks?
thank you!! i don’t shoot much fuji these days since i usually just shoot what’s very readily available and in stock near me.
I just love Provia 100F. Lately, I've also tried some cross processed Precisa CT100 for the first time. Awesome!!
provia is so good
Good job, Linus.
thank you fred 🫡
If linus had a photography book, I would 100% buy it
working on it!!
Sooooo amazing, i love this . What camera were you using in the mirror selfie for Cinestill 400d????????
fujiga645w!
Nice dude, curious on your thoughts on PRO400H
thanks man! i like 400H, but since they don't produce it anymore i just don't seek it out. i stick to using stocks that are still in production because for a lot of professional work i only use fresh film

I should have mentioned my love for Ultramax, Gold, and Colorplus!! I don't use them too often for professional work but they are lovely films

And also, how cool is it that there are SO many different film stocks in 2024? So long after the invention of digital photography
lomo 800 is superrr underrated
see you get it!!
Totally agree. The colors on Lomo 800 are so lovely and much cheaper than Portra 800 (love the film but dang).
Isn’t it rebranded Kodak 800 which isn’t sold on shelves by Kodak
amazing shots!
thank you so much!
Beautiful work ❤
thank you
@@linusandhiscamera my pleasure 😊
The black and white bwxx inspired me!
I need to see what Linus can do with lomo purple 🧐
if you look up my ig and lomo purple something should come up!
I tried Tri-X for the first time since Kodak lowered the price and it's probably all I am going to shoot for awhile. With a scanning workflow it doesn't look that much different than HP5. I think the extra bite and sharpness in the Tri-X grain is definitely worth it the extra 50 cents.
push it 2 stops and you ll love it even more
Hey.
How would compare Portra 400 (at 800 and pushed) versus Portra 800 shot at box speed?
That GA645 is the GOAT!
what settings did you use for cinestill 800 for the night drive in image?
I think lomo 800 would be more popular if it was ever available for purchase. Admittedly I live at the ends of the earth but I can never find it in stock anywhere.
absolutely!
Nice images
thanks john!
Never tried portra 400 35mm becauuse its do damn expensive lol, kind of wish kodak sold individual boxes of portra 400
get yourself a single from a lab near you if you have one!
you can def get single rolls from labs/retailers
I love lomo stuff (specially redscale) but man, shooting lomo is like playing russian roulette, you just don't know when you gonna get a fat roll...
amazing!!
@@linusandhiscamera this gotta be a bot reply!😂
What kind of film camera are you using?
Where do you get your film scanned?
with what for camera do you shoot?
F*ck. Amazing Photos.
thanks homie!!
I like portra 160 better than portra 400, there I said it
loooove 160
@@linusandhiscamera honestly, who could hate it lol
Absolutely glazing cinestill for repackaging someone else’s product.
