I love that you include some benchmarks the first time in your vids, hope you will not miss them next time!
I followed these 2 recommendations and it fixed my issue with my frametimes--my .01% and 1% lows were greatly improved and my average FPS went from 115-120 to 165 in warzone.

Adding Benchmarks in your video is better and it makes me want to watch more optimizations
Please please do your research before applying these settings... the reason your benchmarks give you more fps is because with HPET Off each FPS is no longer reading each FPS normally its false readings. This is a never ending topic... in the end it's best to just leave the windows defaults long term.
Also ghosting comes into effect, ur mouse may feel smoother yes but inputs are going to feel off and so is aim

@@bruh_bruh_the_bruhest_bruh yes I'd personally use ISLC. If your on windows 11 do not and I mean DO NOT doing any bcdedit tweaks, windows 11 has fixed the not being at 0.5 bug

There is a lot of misinformation on this video. The author of ISLC even says that he made it with 16GB RAM in mind and setting the free memory above the default 1024 is not recommended. Setting it to half of your available RAM as suggested here is ludicrous. There is not one benchmark to prove. Beware of Panjno's videos they are not evidence based.
What could possibly happen? (I have a old low end laptop with 4 ram and intel hd something graphics) Im curious cuz I have lags whenever I have a heavy boss fight in my modded Terraria and Im looking for ways to fix that. Tried undervolting and it helped a bit but not that much, thought about overclocking but still hesitant to do it, so I was thinking of doing what is said in the video

i fixed it i had to run the restart process and type the commands a couple times but it eventually switched it
for me enabling hpet in bios did the trick!
It doesn't matter at all and has no impact on latency. He was wrong about this one. Not a big deal, but let your pc deal with itself here. This is beyond the comprehension of even top Microsoft techs and engineers so I'm unsure why Panjno thought it was ok to get involved in it xD

XD I am not sure if I should use "Start ISLC minimized and auto-Start monitoring" or "Launch ISLC on user logon. (TaskScheduler)"??? How do these option differ and why should I use one or the other? I don't get it... XD

Could have told people to try the driver 457.30 amazing driver for low latency but doesn't work in all games that need newer drivers like BF2042 sadly but great video anyways just an extra tip.

This worked! In Deep Rock Galactic at 1440p with a Ryzen 5800x 16GB of RAM and an EVGA RTX 2070 Super, I normally average between 100 - 110 FPS depending on the scene. After these settings changes I was pinned to 120 which is what I had it set to in the game. When I changed the refresh rate of my monitors max of 165hz, I was getting up to 133 FPS. I need to try this see how Deep Rock and Generation Zero fare on my 3 year old Asus TUF gaming laptop. It only has a lowly GTX 1050 Ti and an 8th gen intel i5.
EDIT: It didn't make as much of a difference in terms of frame rate on my gaming laptop, but it did make things run A LOT smoother overall.
I did made these changes to my older gaming computer that my nephew uses when he comes over. It's an i5-660k with 16GB of RAM and a Sapphire RX 580. There was a 5-10 FPS bump, which is great, but it made things smoother and allowed for higher quality settings without dropping below 60 frames per second. This is all in Generation Zero.
Overall, this was a success and worth doing.

FYI the free version of timer resolution is for windows xp, vista, or windows 7... if you have windows 10 you will have to buy it the V2.

every time i close timer resolution or ISLC or reboot my PC it get's back to default 1.0 ms. And another problem is that ISLC shows me 0.9999 ms, but TR shows solid 1 ms, i tried console commands but it did literally nothing. rebooted pc 7 times, deleted standby list and restored all services in case that can help solve the problem. it's not, have no idea what i did wrong, GTX 1060 3G, xeon 2689 boosted to 2.75Ghz, 16gb ram 1866

whenever i click again on the maximum button for the set timer resolution app i get the 500 but when i click the first time it gets me below 500 so does clicking it again help or?

yep - its a windows setting, in file explorer - go to the top to "view" then select "options" on the right - then in "folder options" select the "view" tab - then select show hidden files, folders and drives and ALSO untick "hide extensions for known file types" :)

so my islc current timer was showing 10ms and after i did the 3 commands and pc restart , it started to show 15.625ms as current timer but when i would click on wanted timer resolution as if i were typing in a different number it’d go down to 1ms and when i click start it drops down to 0.5ms and stays there. is that normal ?

Panjno - When I am on desktop, ISLC not active, my current timer res is 10ms, when I go to RUclips, my current timer res drops to 1ms. Then I activate ISLC for 0.5ms.. Is that correct, should my timer res be 10ms on desktop? Is that the way my laptop is saving power or something?

When I try to install the timer resolution application it just reloads the main page and then notice it saying "not secure".
Does Timer Resolution always need to be run each time you boot the PC in order to change it to 0.50ms? When I did this I found that after I had rebooted and checked Timer Resolution by opening the executable again after restarting and logging into Windows 10 it was showing my timer resolution was set to 1.0ms and not 0.50ms...I've tried inputting the commands in cmd again and restarting the PC but once again when I run Timer Resolution executable to check, my PC has set it to 1.0ms again!

Panjno, I previously commented thinking that the timer resolution had negatively affected my PC and was causing crashing, turns out it was enabling intel’s XMP profile’s that was causing the crashes - reverting to default in the BIOS solved it. Will you be covering XMP in any videos?
Does this mean you have to run your memory at stock speed now? Curious because I suspect XMP may be behind my crashes as well

If you mean in msi afterburner then you need to either delete the msi folder completely or click the back arrow in msi and save the default.
