Yes she has a perfect Broadway/Disney voice. I kept thinking of The Little Mermaid while I was listening to her (compliment). It's amazing how big her voice can get without her showing much outward effort. Brava!
Since comments are disabled on the American Idol Audition, I just want to say that out of the two girls she auditioned with, Simon, Randy, and Paula, she is the one out of all of them that is more knowledgeable and talented out of all the individuals named. This performance is proof.
She's amazing. Just saw her perform @ Joe's Pub in NYC... she blew the roof off the place singing O Holy Night with David Perlman (it was a comic duet at the Skivvies' Holiday show).
this was technically brilliant and her voice is charming but. it makes me appreciate whitney all the more with her phrasing and just the depth of her timber and the sharp runs
if you look at the screen next to her when she's singing, it says "musical theatre spotlight" so, I think rather than it being pop-y, it's a theatrical interpretation of a pop song. she really makes it her own, and that's what's so fantastic about it!
i wish people would mention the writer and not say the song was by the person who is most known for performing it "I Believe in You and Me" is a 1982 song written by Sandy Linzer and David Wolfert
It is sad that Penn State will not be remembered for an Incredible Talent like Natalie. I just hope the NCAA does not get over zealous with trying to ban the music program.....
I wonder if she watches this now and thinks how green she was. She's so talented. I literally just watched a ton of her coaching sessions and live performances. I bet you she could sing this even better today than she did here.
It's amazing how much better she's gotten since this in such a short amount of time...This is good, but dang it's nothing compared to her voice now. Makes me excited for what's to come.
I see you in movies in the future..theres something about you. You had me like deer in headlight just now, your awesome talent. I wish you well in the future!
she did audition for American Idol. I'm almost positive she made it to Hollywood. I think it was a couple of seasons ago. she never made any substanial television time. I could be wrong about making it on, but I do know that she did audition for American Idol.
she is so great...I would love to hear her sing this kind of music without that musical theatre sound...though she can move her voice it still sounds like musical theatre, BUT she is absolutely AMAZING!!!!
If you look at the media links on her website, she sounds way better in the audio recording of this than this live performance XD she's incredible anyway though
this girl has a GREAT voice, love this song too! I would have loved it if she felt the groove of the song a little more... sung some of it not necessarily on the down beat. Gosh what a wonderfully talented young lady!
She has a beautiful voice, but really...It doesn't sound like pop. It sounds like Broadway or Las Vegas Showgirl. She's a fantastic belter, but it's very theatrical and light, rather than what they're looking for, which is the run of the mill pop-sounding voice. Which is exactly the reason I'm probably never gonna try for American Idol cause I know they'd boo me off the stage for being too "broadway". But hopefully she got cast from being seen on this show. Kudos to a beautifully sung song.
This is weird. I mean, technically speaking, she's perfect, but in terms of interpretation, it feels weird. Not weird enough to give it a dislike, but weird still
it’s feel weird because there’s no gospel aspect to her singing, whitney grew up in a baptist chruch so she and others like her interpret songs with more soul.
I really like this girls voice..I feel like her make up and hair or something..makes her look a lot older than she really is though...which kind of sucks.
You have got to be kidding!!!!! I don't know if you're a professional performer or not - but that's not theatrizing a song at all.....no was it used as a theater song!!!! TO be honest - you must not know music. Natalie Weiss is a well rounded performer - and you will see her name in lights....you wait and see!!!
she has the perfect musical theatre voice.
Her voice is good, she sounds like a Disney princess
Yes she has a perfect Broadway/Disney voice. I kept thinking of The Little Mermaid while I was listening to her (compliment). It's amazing how big her voice can get without her showing much outward effort. Brava!
I cannot stop watching video after video of this girl. I am IN LOVE with her voice!!
She really PAINTED the picture!!! Watched it twice!!
way to go Natalie you have a fan in Sydney Australia! Absolutely Pure & Beautiful!
Wow she speaks SO differently here! I love how she sounds!!
People giving her crap about this amazing performance, search for Natalie's channel or other recent performances here on youtube, and just shut up!
This girl has a VOICE, y'all.
Great voice! Her control is great. She almost reminds me of what I would imagine a Disney princess sounding like.
this was technically brilliant and her voice is charming
but. it makes me appreciate whitney all the more with her
phrasing and just the depth of her timber and the sharp runs
I love your voice, Natalie 😍
whoa what a fantastic quality to her voice.
I love looking at her face in this performance, there's lots of conviction.
I Looooove Natalie!! Omg I love her voice soooo much like wow she totally gave me chills.... brava Natalie :)
HOW COULD U DISLIKE THIS!?!?!?!?
if you look at the screen next to her when she's singing, it says "musical theatre spotlight" so, I think rather than it being pop-y, it's a theatrical interpretation of a pop song. she really makes it her own, and that's what's so fantastic about it!
Such a beautiful clear rendition...Whitney would be proud
Get it, Ms. Thang! Love, Dr. Dan
You go girl!!!! That was awesome!!!
i wish people would mention the writer and not say the song was by the person who is most known for performing it
"I Believe in You and Me" is a 1982 song written by Sandy Linzer and David Wolfert
BEAUTIFUL VOICE!!! and PERSONALLITY!!
This is really beautiful! Amazing voice~
THAT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!! Holy Cow! Go on American Idol. YOU WILL WIN!!!
She did audition for that show as i recall..judges were mean in my opinion
She made it to Hollywood but she went home. They kept the other two girls from her group but she was the only one they sent home. What a mistake
she is the biggest non-famous, famous person!! hahahahah
It is sad that Penn State will not be remembered for an Incredible Talent like Natalie. I just hope the NCAA does not get over zealous with trying to ban the music program.....
When she says "But I would play the fool forever" ! I'm in love
wow wow wow.. and i find this now in 2021!!! she is so underrated GOD :/
You can see this song means something to her. Respect to emotional delivery, from any source.
Doing both Levi proud.
shoot, Natalie, you never cease to amaze me :) great job at Rated RSO this weekend :)
Wonderful........one of my favorites!!
I wonder if she watches this now and thinks how green she was. She's so talented. I literally just watched a ton of her coaching sessions and live performances. I bet you she could sing this even better today than she did here.
that was absoluetly amazing! can't wait til i graduate so i can go to penn state n be a music theater major too!
the voice of an angel
It's amazing how much better she's gotten since this in such a short amount of time...This is good, but dang it's nothing compared to her voice now. Makes me excited for what's to come.
i mean im still obssesed with this, i dunno why people are giving it grieeeeeef.

Nat needs to get picked up by Disney! Im so surprised she hasnt bebb in the fast 15 years!
I see you in movies in the future..theres something about you. You had me like deer in headlight just now, your awesome talent. I wish you well in the future!
What happend to the video of her graduating class singing Songs For A New World? It was a classic, iconic performance. Ugh!
@angeleyez101
I completely agree!!!!!!! I really love her voice!!!
Lovely!
thanks!
THATS IT! I was trying to think of what it was, but that's it! The should make a new one!
she did audition for American Idol.
I'm almost positive she made it to Hollywood. I think it was a couple of seasons ago.
she never made any substanial television time.
I could be wrong about making it on, but I do know that she did audition for American Idol.
Yassss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You.... noted in song description.
holy COW!!!!
she is so great...I would love to hear her sing this kind of music without that musical theatre sound...though she can move her voice it still sounds like musical theatre, BUT she is absolutely AMAZING!!!!
i TOTTALLY AGREE
I like it, to me its not better or worse than the original its just different and thats part of what art is :)
@paharrisonnc
I agree!!! If I could only go and scream for her next Tuesday at the Apollo...but since I live in germnay, there is no way!!! :(
Omg she was fire before but had still gotten so much better
She hit them notes at the end
YASSS NATALIE
im actually dumbfounded!
that was SHIT hot!
i wud sure love to duet with her one day!
apsalutely breathtaking voice!
remember, she is doing a musical theatre interpretation of this song, not trying to be something you would hear on the radio
thank you!
I'm very glad she didn't end up as an american idol has been. I see a bright musical theater future for her
OMG she is so amazing. Haha
oh my that is so witty- Nole Coward would envy your rapier wit and repartee :-0
She's grown so much since than. I think her tone is better now, less bright.
You cant compare this even to whitney houston's version. But this is how it woould be sang in theatre or in broadway.
Amazing rendition :) I love whitney but she did one heck of a job
OMG Manalapan is like 5 mins from my house
That G5!
If you look at the media links on her website, she sounds way better in the audio recording of this than this live performance
XD she's incredible anyway though
@mrwhatwhat19 Disney princess? Maybe if a disney princess could belt/riff/sing their face off... haha AMAZING
wait, what is this from?
what was this for?
girl ur fuckin awesome
LOL, they were instructed not to since it was a TV taping and part of a larger concert.
she made it to the round where they break off into groups during hollywood week. she was the only one cut from her group. obviously a mistake.
you miss my point
If you disagree , you can do it in a way that is not rude
Too many social illeterates on You Tube
this girl has a GREAT voice, love this song too! I would have loved it if she felt the groove of the song a little more... sung some of it not necessarily on the down beat. Gosh what a wonderfully talented young lady!
she needs to sing broadway this song is NOt for her
she matches in a broad way shows.
She has a beautiful voice, but really...It doesn't sound like pop. It sounds like Broadway or Las Vegas Showgirl. She's a fantastic belter, but it's very theatrical and light, rather than what they're looking for, which is the run of the mill pop-sounding voice. Kudos to a beautifully sung song.
This is weird. I mean, technically speaking, she's perfect, but in terms of interpretation, it feels weird. Not weird enough to give it a dislike, but weird still
It sounds broadway mixed with pop
I feel like she's singing with technique and no passion
it’s feel weird because there’s no gospel aspect to her singing, whitney grew up in a baptist chruch so she and others like her interpret songs with more soul.
Origionally done by the 4 tops, years before Whitney did it...
Something about here voice reminds me of Liz Calloway, If Liz Calloway ever did runs lol
How about that Natalie? She has an awesome voice but I believe if she wasn't in school then she would've ripped this song a new hole.
your rude comment was unneeded
Her technique wasn't as refined like it is now but still an awesome performance!
I really like this girls voice..I feel like her make up and hair or something..makes her look a lot older than she really is though...which kind of sucks.
anybody who can chest a high G (yes folks, that was a G) has my praise
I just wish she could act...
She's singing it like a musical number, BAD . In pop, u don't grind the consonants like she does, listen to the original.
