He was asked to collect Vinny but instead he got a Jimmy.
Just as an FYI, the mob boss npc asks for you to find "Vinny Two-Squeaks" but will accept 'Jimmy Two-Squeaks' as well. It's probably a bug but until it's patched this is the faster route as you can collect Jimmy on the way to the vault before meeting the mob boss. I've been able to replicate this several times fairly consistently.

I love how every time the colorless NPC gets interrupted by speedrunner being fast, it briefly gains enough sentience and consciousness to open it's mouth and put a "holy 💩" look on it's face right before the next line of dialog kicks in.

Joel Haver sharing the way to recreate his animation style was the best thing to ever happen
people have done that animation style since the 80's. it is in no way joel's. even though he got huge on making the animation style big in the youtube community
@@showerjedi9627 Manually rotoscoping each frame (as its done since the 80s) is not accessible to most small time creators. Joel showcased how to use Deep Learning to significantly speed up the process and he should get a lot of credit for that.

Using the Don's surprised facial expression to the speedrunner's accomplishments and then carrying over that same look of surprise when the Don gets shot was genius.
I just love how he used the door opening animation to clip through the wall and skip the 'boss is dead' custscene and subsequent fight to just come back and kill the last guy while he is distracted. Beautiful all the way.

That’s what I do every playthrough, I go to Bleak Falls Barrow before I even go to Dragonsreach bc I already know where it is and it saves so. Much. Time.

We all know alligators are a dev weapon which is why the Florida spawn point is so popular. The heat, humidity, and mosquitos certainly aren’t the reason (except that one malaria glitch but it’s suboptimal since the patch)

Wow, this speedrunner finished the whole game in 1 minute and 30 seconds, maybe if he performed that box glitch a little faster, he could've shaved off a couple of seconds for the world record.

I never realized how terrifying and efficient the protagonist is.
Like say your an npc follower in skyrim. You follow the dragonborn around all the quests and story lines. You watch them demolish Alduin. Rape the vampires. Build mansions for the hell of it. Shit on Miraak. All the while you just blocked their way through doors and carry all of their shit

@@the_openers_of_eyes8 My exact reaction as well. I think what they meant by that was the vampires were totally owned (or annihilated) that it was like violating them due to the player's efficiency. At least I hope that's it, I don't think you can actually do that (without mods anyway). But that did catch me off guard lol

You call it a mistake, speed runners calls it "the currently known fastest route".

in the questline it's revealed that vinny two squeeks changed his alias to jimmy.
He skipped town and changed his name. The poor name change is something to expect from someone bright enough to steal from a mob boss.
Calling his animations “Joel Haver” style makes me so happy. I’m glad there’s still space for inspiration without people jumping to calling things “stealing”. Your work is incredible and keep it up!
Edit: I honestly didn’t expect this comment to get the attention that it did. But to anyone who weirdly managed to see it now (4 months from original posting), yes I do know that this is just a form of rotoscoping and it’s been done before. But besides this creators work being wholly original and amazing on its own, what I mean is the general themes, dialogue, humor, and context are admittedly and beautifully inspired by Joel Haver’s work and I’m sure by the work of many others who also inspired Joel Haver himself. I loved most of the reply’s but I’m just making this because some people seemed to get weirdly salty about my original comment.

Never heard of Joel Haver, but if you like this style, you might enjoy some of Ralph Bakshi's work.
It's as if no one's heard of roto-scoping or A Scanner Darkly (as one of the more recent examples), crazy world huh! How about these well-informed, tech-savvy zoomers, huh!

to be fair, there are specific elements of this style that make it recognizable as Joel Haver-esque, as opposed to just "rotoscoping", which is very broad.

@Dirk Diggler Its more than reminiscent of Joel Havers work though. They had their own processes and even if you look at A Scanner Darkly vs Waking Life which is made by the same people the style iterates. Haver documented his technique so others could use it so its awesome to catch one in the wild!

Remember Joel has a how-to video for these so unless he actually comes out and says otherwise... I don't think he minds. He probably enjoys that people are using his animation style, I'm guessing. Anyway this video was really quite great, I had a good laugh. Well done.

Considering how Town With No Name was also rotoscoped, just with far fewer frames, this is surprisingly on point.

We need a game where the NPC responds to glitches. Imagine Oblivion with self aware NPC's.
intentional glitches in games suck because it ruins the fun of finding something the devs couldn't fix
@@quasur57 It can be handled as a fallback, like if a player enters a locked area without finding the key the NPC's could have a surprised default reaction to it regardless of how exactly the player managed to sequence break there.
@@TheRenofox Deus Ex 1 used to keep track of stuff like that and bring it up in dialogue. Always amazed me when I'd think I was glitching something else and I get called out by NPCs.
