    I suspect the old owners returned to their country of origin, or someplace else, a long way away.That would perhaps explain the left behind, but, why demolish a house like this? A small set of repairs and a rehab would return it to peak condition. It might be expensive to run a home like it, but Wow... What a place to live. Glad you recorded this Ethan

      New houses are much more desirable in today’s market because they’re more efficient. It cost more to modify an old building than to just start over from scratch.

    • @cynthiarogers5984
      @cynthiarogers5984 3 года назад

      The house has a whole lot of wasted space and impractical spaces with weird walls.

    • @vickieannakin7577
      @vickieannakin7577 2 года назад +1

      Yes I agree funny wasted spaces but it doesn't matter what big home you go into they all have a concept from the I think early 19 hundreds and I do know art Deco times 20,s and 30,s periods at the front entrance you have what they call a half bath ... powder room we call a toilet and sink and on the other side Is a cloak cupboard. They use to take your coat or ask to take your coat when visiting and that's where they would put your coat until you were leaving. Oh yes the other reason there's so many toilets is because the houses are that big can you imagine busting for the loo and having to run across the mansion to find a loo.

    • @vickieannakin7577
      @vickieannakin7577 2 года назад +2

      The really big mansions history lesson
      1800 1900 some of the houses you go into will have a big room on one side and a bit smaller room on the other side some of the houses down the south are perfect examples of this houses 200yesrs old the butler would take your calling card put you in the small receiving room to wait while the help would fetch you or if they didn't want to see you the butler would say you are not in .if you did want to see them you would greet them there and take there guest across the hall to the big room which is the drawing room and have a visit. If you were a woman your drawing room would be at the back of house or up stairs of your bedroom. The other thing is the mens bedroom and the ladies bedroom was joined by a central door shed get ready for bed in her room and he would do the same in his room then he would go through the door have sex and whatever eise when finish he would go back to his own room. That's how it was done back then. So you see some of these very modern things aren't modern at all. If you need help with old buildings just ask I don't mind helping if I can.

    Aside a couple spots of water damage that's a waste the house gets knocked down.I loved that hot tub,it was a gorgeous color.I wonder what happened? They left so much behind. For me,I financially struggle every day and I dont own a car,I am on disability and it just amazes me the expensive stuff people leave when you go in these homes.Cant wait to see the next mansion :) good luck Ethan :)

      I feel the same way. Such a shame. I just about bet they were doctors and they had an elderly parent that lived with them and that's why they had the elevator. They also obviously had several children. I love the hot tubs and saunas, but they always seem to leave mildew in the basements. Even when people have indoor swimming pools put in their houses it seem to have mildew problems in the house too. I would just settle for a jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom and have the hot tub and swimming pool outside in the backyard. It is a beautiful house. Thanks for sharing this with us.
      P.S. I wouldn't have left all that stuff though, especially the exercise equipment.

    I'm waiting on hurricane Ida, it's 1:30 am, I'm calming my nerves watching Ethan Minnie before the power fails and the wind and water go nuts.
    A good video, for one thing this house is in great shape but they sure left it trashy. If they didn't want any of those things there's charities that'll come and even pack it up as long as it's not lying in piles on the floor.
    It's very weird when I see their toothbrushes and toiletries just left, things on the patio table like they'd be right back.
    You know as well as I do that kid wants his stuff back. That's a cruddy thing to do leaving the kid's toys.

My husband and his trucking partner had to make a Denny's delivery a few hours before Katrina hit New Orleans. He will never forget that! He called up his partner last week when we were watching the coverage of Ida and asked him what he remembered them doing that day years ago. I really do hope you made it through and recovering ❤

    Judging from the looks of it,
    the kids, have learned from their parents example. They didn't appreciate what they had and left a mess like the parents who left mess after mess throughout the entire house. Instead they could've made arrangements to donate the things they left behind.. The charity trucks would come and pick it up. Even an empty box from Tiffany's has resale value. All they had to do was be considerate, and make a phone call. So much will probably end up in the landfill. SMH That house was amazing. I hope they loved it when they lived their.

    Many people do not realize that during the 80s and 90s, there were faulty water pipes installed in many brand new homes and those faulty (plastic) pipes leaked all over the inside of the walls of these houses, causing mold and mildew issues that really just cannot be corrected without completely demolishing the house and starting over.

    Enjoyed the tour of the house. To bad it’s going to be demolished. The toilet was out on the balcony 😁

    Aside from the mess, what a beautiful home!! Like I always say, what a shame. So sad they demolish all these in perfectly good shape houses ...nice work documenting it nonetheless ❤️❤️

    When I see homes like this with so much stuff left, I wonder why the owners/renters had to leave so quickly?

    Brown bathroom for the win ! Lol
    The elevator looks more like a dumb waiter system for moving stuff.

    Great explore Ethan! I wish I could just go in and salvage a lot of the stuff before they destroy it. You could probably build a brand new home with all thats in there!!!
    Keep showing us more types of explores like this!

    There were probably like 4 generations of the same family living there... judging by the kids toys and the....fur hats!! No young Asian mother wear that stuff! And yet, they'd still have enough room for having their whole family from Asia over for Christmas (or whatever else holidays they like). Loved it. Good job, once again! Big fan from Montreal :)

    Love the video! So many beautiful rooms...master bathroom gorgeous, and that hot tub/sauna area was amazing. Terrible shame that the place will be demolished. I wonder what caused the people to leave, apparently in a hurry. Why else leave a lot of valuable stuff behind?

    This is an AMAZING house, that ANYONE would be lucky to live in. Between the hardwoods, the fireplaces, the staircases, the master bathroom, the kitchen, the master closet, the elevator, the angled ceilings and skylights, the home theater, the hot tub, the sauna, THE POOL. I will never understand our society in general....
