It does not cover British history only English. The older Scottish history and the Kingdom of Scotland is missing.Perhapsl you could do a video on this. S.
This is the first You Tube that gives a comprehensive history of Great Britain because it is clear and in complete chronological order. In addition, you finally have a narrator that is excellent and easy to understand. FYI Aethelflead, Alfred The Great's daughter, fought the Danes and Vikings to unite one England with her brother. It was Aethelflead who conquered York and Oxford and gave to her brother to add to Wessex and create a larger England. She was known as Lady of Mercia or the people called her their Queen of Mercia. She helped raise Aethelstan, her nephew, teaching him of reign and war. But her brother tried to write her out of history. It would be nice if she were added into this section because without her, she continues to be erased from such an important part of history.
Good information. Ultimately, Alfred the Great is the Father of all Englishmen, his family is remembered, his grandson and daughter did it in his name 😊
The fact that he would have tried to write her out of history doesn't make sense, I mean she helped him to conquer half of the Dane-law for goodness sakes
So I really recommend watching The Last Kingdom series with The Seven Kings Must Dies as the ending of the story. It's an amazing production, presenting also the Aetheflead impact.
Charles was an attention seeker all through his marriage with Diana, he moaned when he couldn't do what he wanted, caused scandal after scandal for his mother and monarchy, he blamed everything on Diana, he is the boy who cried wolf, Diana loved him and he betrayed her over and over, the public doesn't like him, his secret phone calls with Camilla where not leaked till after he and Diana split, proof mounted against him and he still cried victim.
There are a few historical inaccuracies. Another example, is Thomas Beckett being a cleric before becoming Chancellor. No…he wasn’t ordained by the Church, until becoming Archbishop; one more thing that pissed off the English priests.
@@BeginningToNoww I've been watching these English history documentaries for decades now and I would be soooooooo happy if you could do one for France. They just don't exist. I've like memorized every king/queen and their stories now on the English side of things.

The historical errors and misidentified portraits are jarring! Mary Queen of Scots was NOT housed in the Tower of London! Mostly good and the narration is excellent. C-.

Many errors and pronunciation was very off on many place names and peoples names. With all that, it is a good video that could spark someone to want to research further. They won’t regret it. I started reading about English history 20+ yrs ago and never stopped lol.
Good evening , I really like your videos you edit and explain well . I was a history student myself I want to suggest you making a videos about the history of science, inventions or about philosophy of writing and texts .
I decided to watch this because I have been so invested in GRRM’s fictional royal history in the world of “A Song of Ice and Fire”. It’s so interesting because I can see so many of the ideas that he had were based upon the real history of the English throne. Aegon the Conqueror is basically William the Conqueror. Matilda’s claim to the throne and the subsequent civil war is extremely similar to the Dance of the Dragons civil war. And the War of the Roses is literally the basis for the Game Of Thrones story, although I think a lot of people already knew about that one.
I also rather enjoyed how the portrayal of the show is a keen reflection of the British family we have today. Vasaerys ( late King George) dies and leaves the kingdom to his daughter (late Queen Elizabeth) rather than his brother Damon ( Edward ) because he can’t be trusted. I’d also like to point out neither King particularly ‘enjoyed’ their reign and would have much rather lived a simple life. Which is why I believe they both died rather young as far as age is concerned.
Richard II didn't have any children. Mortimer was proclaimed Richards heir because of his descent from Edward IIIs 2 son. That gave him a better claim than Henry IV and his descendants. Henry V put him on his council to placate him. Great work though.
Henry VIII did NOT have himself declared head of the Church OF England. He was declared head of the Church IN England. While this may seem like a simple difference of semantics, it’s actually quite a significant distinction. The Church under Henry was the same Catholic Church, but with Henry as head. The Church OF England, didn’t come into existence until it was developed under Edward. Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Cranmer was instrumental in the creation of a Protestant church organization, similar but different from the Catholic Church; a development that was completed under the rule of Elizabeth.
This was so interesting. It touches on everything I need to know and things I’ll be able to look into later. The narrator was very good also. Thank you.

As someone who has studied the British monarchy for years…there are a lot of errors both in the information and visuals. If you’re going to put this much effort into making a video of the British monarchy that lasts over 3 hours…I expect facts to be accurate.
This is a welcome and very interesting attempt... thanks. A number of errors though which ought to be corrected -- e.g. Charles and Camilla married in 2005, not "a year after Diana's death" (1997)...
In 1996, the stone of Scone was returned to Scotland. It is kept in Edinburgh Castle with the Honours of Scotland. The stone remains property of the Crown and is transported to London for use at coronations.

3 hrs? I can summarize it right here: he was born, he grew up to become a brutal warlord who murdered his way through the desert and r*ped children, then he died and left a huge stain on the world.
This only covers the English monarchy before the Stuarts united the thrones and it became the British monarchy. Why no history of the Scottish monarchy before then, as after all they are the current monarchy's ancestors and just as British as the English one is.
Then they get to when king James takes the scottish and English thrones becoming the king of Britain they refer to him as the English king and king of England.

Cheers :)
This is so beautiful and well narrated ❤️
Anyone else notice that all these kings from way back in the day are literally all Dolce and Gabbana-type models? (yes I know it's AI.)
Hahaha. YES! So funny.
Really enjoyable watch and interesting way to present more than 1000 years of history in short movie.
As someone who has studied the British monarchy for years…there are a lot of errors both in the information and visuals.
If you’re going to put this much effort into making a video of the British monarchy that lasts over 3 hours…I expect facts to be accurate.
3:26:28 - the fire broke out in the Windsor Castle, not the Buckingham Palace lol
This is a welcome and very interesting attempt... thanks. A number of errors though which ought to be corrected -- e.g. Charles and Camilla married in 2005, not "a year after Diana's death" (1997)...
Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed at Fotheringhey castle, Northamptonshire. Great video,
In 1996, the stone of Scone was returned to Scotland. It is kept in Edinburgh Castle with the Honours of Scotland. The stone remains property of the Crown and is transported to London for use at coronations.
It is located in the new museum in Perth.
Recommendation --
A good 3 hr documentary from the birth of prophet Muhammad, Arabia before Muhammad and after him , Initial days of Muhammad's life , his recognition as a prophet, Rise of Islam in Arabia, lifestyle and living of the prophet, Islamic Caliphates and islam till date .
Hope you'll make it ❤❤❤
Btw don't loose hope man , your videos will surely took off. I myself became your subscriber today ❤❤❤
Thanks for that! Noted :)
@@BeginningToNoww waiting for that documentary man. All the best 👍🏻
3 hrs? I can summarize it right here: he was born, he grew up to become a brutal warlord who murdered his way through the desert and r*ped children, then he died and left a huge stain on the world.
HISTORY is indeed BEAUTIFUL ❤❤, I enjoyed every bit of this video
Windsor Castle caught fire, not Buckingham Palace.
This is fascinating!!! Thank you for sharing it.
This is very well done. Excellent in every way. A+
Thanks so much🙏
King George VI died in 1952, he saw Princess Elizabeth off in January 31st 1952, not 1953
Thank yoo for this great video!
I listen to this every single night. It helps me sleep. 😊
absurd those Union Jacks in this video, this flag cam centuries later.......horrible sight again and again
CAM centuries later? Pot calling the kettle black, don’t you think? Absurd is being hypercritical of decent free content. It’s ok, the world needs weirdos to make things interesting. Thank you for that.
Awesome video!
You misnamed Britain and Ireland as England
What a great educational video. This would be great for schools.
Some pronunciation of place names are way off.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS
Fire was on Windsor Castle. Not buckingham.
Was hopeful of a video coming from someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. After the pronunciation of “Leicester” it was quite apparent that you do not
Reading 🪓 . . . Leicester 🪓Narrator hired to do the reading but not the research.
Master Bailey - There was no need for the petty sarcasm. It just shows you possess certain social skills that are very unappealing. Perhaps before you comment, think about how others may interpret your words. It may improve the dismal first impression that others find distasteful.
