What In Carnation? He’s such a douche
Allen Bestwick always made a race entertaining
Bestwick > the douche nozzle NBC has calling the races.
It could literally be this years all star race and it would’ve been entertaining lol
It's 2023 and this is still one of the best races for the championship. What makes it better is my guy Smoke won it all!
behold the thing I've been waiting for the most.
I remember listening to this on the radio and being so excited when Stewart won
yeah I was at work.. In stockholm sweden! using an app on my phone to tune in! lmao
My favorite race of all time. Tony Stewart was a machine that year
Early on in the season he ran like crap. He didn't get things together till the chase.
@Tristan Ellis Vlogs Not necesarily. He runs decent throughout the course of the season. Has at least a 1 under his belt before the chase. That year I think he had one good finish and the rest before the chase were abysmal. He did came to life after Chicagoland.
He was a machine the last 10 races, learn your history moron
Especially those last 10 races. Going into the Chase Tony said they didn't deserve to be there. Then Darian Grubb found something in the set ups and that SHR Chevy came to life!
Tristan Ellis Vlogs stating the facts, if you can’t handle them then gtfo boy
I’ll never forget staying up late that night and showing up to school the next day so exhausted yet still amped up with excitement from my man Smoke winning the title!
2011 - 2012 CoTs were amazing! They raced great, were cheap and safe.
As someone else's comment vanished, let me repeat the voice of the fans: Those were the days when drivers had to drive their cars! The low power package is a travesty to the sport.
Now I wonder how good the Mustang & Camaro would be in CoT body..?
Arnold Triyudho too bad Ford and Chevy would actually bitch about that like it would save/make them a buck.
@@hughjoelcock7145
Where in reality it raised costs for the teams without bringing anything to the table
I agree with everything you said but the power issue as on pretty much all tracks the loss of 200 or what ever horsepower doesnt actually count for much really considering the fact they are still on most tracks running the roughly tge same speeds and lap time as before hand the although it may dog down on acceleration itself at restart the issue is the gen 6 model itself
@@ArnoldTriyudho xfinity cars today (including Mustangs/Camaros) are very similar to COT bodies and have the best racing of the three major series IMO
This was the night where Tony Stewart transformed from Superstar to Legendary!
I saw it all from Section 241 of the grandstand, an absolute thriller and the greatest NASCAR race of the last 20 years. I doubt there will be another even close to it again!
This is a natural and proper game 7 moment in motorsports
Yea
Carl Edwards drove like a man on a mission.
But Tony Stewart drove like a man possessed.
Thank you NASCAR! Greatest of all time!
Edwards is a champion who never held a title in NASCAR. He truly deserved a title at least twice.
....Edwards won the 2007 Xfinity series title
jabber1990 I am referring to a cup series title.
He lost both times, so someone else deserved it more.
@@Weezy10580 ya jimmie didnt really have anything to do with it, logano was the one who ruined carl's championship : (
You don’t deserve anything. You earn it.
Literally my most favorite day in 2011. I was 12 years old. And I was so excited and exhausted at the same time. I had stayed up way too late and I don’t even think I went to school the next day. I was so happy that my favorite driver the Legend Mr. Smoke won his 3rd championship
2:19 Kurt Busch flipping off someone in garage
Lol 👁👁
This is also the race where he had his incident with Dr Jerry Punch.
@@briansouth7777 this led to him getting removed from Penske and sending him all the way down to Phoenix racing which was rock-bottom for him. No sponsors nothing. Kept getting lapped every week until he moved to the 78 car
Don’t get frustrated because we have the playoffs now instead of this format or regular points now, regardless of your opinion. Just be happy you got to see this spectacle of a race between two drivers who are extremely talented
That weekend, Carl Edwards won the pole, was fastest in the final practice, led the most laps in the race, avoided any mishaps, beat Tony off of pit road every time, and he still LOST! He never finished lower than 11th in the final 10 races and still LOST! Carl Edwards drove a strong race and just had that Cup taken away by a driver who would NOT be denied!
One of Tony’s best drives for a win! What a great race full of adversity for Smoke..
I Wish nascar on fox sounded like this with the espn audio
love the sounds
This is coming from a lifetime Jimmie Johnson fan, Tony ran the rubber off those tires that night phenomenal on restarts pick his lanes very well was so straight never really got lose. Pulled away from Carl each lap faster the margin spreading apart. Carl was good all race long but nobody had Tony's number that night!
Thank you for one of the best races in history NASCAR! Thank you so so much!!!
Arguably the greatest single race and championship battle in NASCAR history.
Rewatching this race on my little phone just wouldn't do, it's worthy of a larger screen. So I'm now watching on my TV screen. What a GREAT race this was. Probably the best race I've seen ever. Tony was the BEST driver!
You know stuff like this is why I liked the old chase more then the new one.

He’s probably waiting for his beer
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
2nd greatest championship race of all-time, great upload, thanks nascar!

Sadly we might never have a championship tie breaker because of the crapchute format we currently have.
@@X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X 1998 Was Great Too
@@DupontandLowesWarrior
To you it certainly was :P
In all honesty, it was a great performance by Martin, and one for the history books by Gordon.
even though I'm a fan of Tony, but Carl deserves the title of champion too
Best championship battle of all time! Smoke is the man!
Tony's Office Depot car just looks so clean
I remember watching this on a little 24 inch box tv when I was 12. Great race loved it
WOW, what a race.
I respect Andy Petree for what he did in the sport, but I never liked him as a broadcaster for some reason. Just didn’t seem to fit in with Bestwick and Jarrett. ESPN always had great pit reporters though.
This has to be the race that inspired NASCAR to go the playoff route
whoever thought of NASCAR must be a Genius, the amount of watchers is just as impressive
Tony Stewart's final NASCAR Cup Series Championship victory before his departure from NASCAR racing in 2016
Classic Kurt Busch flipping someone off going into garage
3:25:18 - Tony Stewart becomes a 3 time cup series champion
Hard to believe what had been occuring for those 9 years since this race. Those two great drivers retired after 2016 season which was unexpected with Edwards. The C.O.T lived for another year before gen 6 made it's debut. The rebranded points system introduced that year had been overhaul, first was 2016 with field limit dropping down to 40 instead of 43, and then a year later with bonus points for leading laps no longer matters, only to be replaced with stage racing points. The 2011 Chase format would live on until the change in 2014 (shortly after 2013 spingate) with field increased to 16 instead of 12. The top 10 in points seeding would be replaced by win n you're. Eliminating 4 drivers every 3 races until only 4 drivers were left for the final race. Points in finale race of every post season no longer mattered. The Chase then had been rebranded to so called playoffs in 2017. In then in 2018, Brian France arrested. In this result, many have seen NASCAR as a complete joke. And what's the saddest part, we will never have a closest points finish championship like the this one unless NASCAR realizes they went way too far with these unnecessary changes.
Ayyy 🤘
Aric Almirola nice seeing you here!
Hopefully you can be a champion too
At the final run, look how many seconds Edwards and Stewart put to other drivers in only 40 laps, in a really tied gen 6.
Especially when we know that Edwards is running with 2 old tires...
Both of these guys gave 120% to their car.
Such good racing! Incredible!!!
What race should NASCAR upload next?
They really should upload some races from 1999, it’d be massively entertaining
1992 Hooters 500
2007 Daytona 500
2012 Daytona 500
A race where a Toyota crashes because Toyota is not amercian
The Smoke Number #14 Tony Stewart is the 3x NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, he is the owner of Stewart-Haas CNC Racing
This was the last race for Mark Martin at HMS and Kurt Busch’s last race for Penske.
i'm new to NASCAR and this is is cool!
TBH, this is the 2nd time that there’s a full version of the 2011 Ford 400. Except this one is 3 hours 55 minutes & 42 seconds long compared to the 5 hour 38 minute video of the 2011 Ford 400 uploaded on this exact channel.
One of the best races
This was only the best race that Nickelodeon aired in 2011 in the last race of the 2011 season. And yes Tony Stewart was one of the best drivers in NASCAR in the last generation
2:20 lmao
Edwards would have won this and 2008 had it not be for the Chase.
If u watched the icebergs what if Nascar had the playoffs in Stewart would still win the title but Edwards will win the 2008 chase
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT this was 2011

I forgot how awesome those '11-'12 cars were! They looked great and they raced awesome!! And I've probably said it 1000 times but Carl Edwards is the best NASCAR driver to not win a championship
I think ur forgetting Mark Martin... Mark is the greatest without a championship... Carl would be 2nd
Tre' Cooledge I honestly forgot that Mark never had a championship. I think you’re right about that but Carl was always my favourite
Denny hamlin can be put in that category
I swear this race was already uploaded but thanks anyway 👍
My man. Excited to see you race at indy if its not cancelled
I like how the commentators think that running a foot to two feet off the wall is risky and dangerous. Now Larson does it and its just a normal day.
Yeah, lol. Probably back then it was.
whats the issue with tire prep?
they had a police car as a pace car?
Hey just saying for this week that 2007 Samsung RadioShack 500 was pretty good. Great finish between Burton and Kenseth, Dale to the 5, wild start. 2004 was pretty good too. Just saying
That race broke my heart
Anyone coming here after seeing the 2021 Formula One points standings after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix?
Do other drivers who aren't in the chase move out of the way for the championship contenders?
Not classy at all getting rid of the Best Crew chief. Smoke is my driver as well but I have to say that Darian Grubb did Not deserve to be let go.
Was on call that day ….. hoping for no calls watching this nail biter!!! And ya I got no calls !!
So.... Kurt Busch flipped that dude off lol 🤣 and they showed it 🤣
I don’t know why I was watching this
Been mentioning Edwards a bunch lately. 👀
Not sure if this counts as ‘classic’ because this was like 8 to 9 years ago lol, but still, great race nonetheless
Tony Stewart made a career ending decision by not having Darian Grubb return to the box and put Chad Johnston on the box instead. It was the dumbest move he's ever made
ilove how edwards defeat
It definitely shows his character in how he handled the defeat.
yeah i see it. so sad that he didn't win a championship in that kind of character

TIE BREAKER
Can you show these without saying who won so it it can be exciting? I had forgot who won but you dam sure ruin it with the title. No sense watching a race when you know the outcome.Jeez
😂í
Unfortunately for smoke it didn’t go down as an all time great battle because nascar decided to ruin the legitimacy of their sport with dumb ass formats that don’t determine who the best driver all year was
Dude, its literally the greatest head to head championship battle in nascar history because it ended in a legitimate tie in the points, tony won though with more wins what are you talking about?
Should've been Carl's championship, Tony didn't have a chance in hell of making it in the chase had Nascar not bent the rules for their boy Stewart . Although he did win 5 of the 10 races of the chase. He shouldn't have ever been eligible. I feel that chapped Carl's ass real bad and contributed to his early retirement. That'd be a hard fuckin to take.
And what are u talking about? Tony was 9th in points after the race at Richmond so he made it in the Chase legit.
if 2011 chase format had bonus points for their regular season performance like what we have currently. Carl Edwards could had won the championship.
Crybaby. Suck it up.
No disrespect to Tony Stewart who was the most talented driver post-Earnhardt in NASCAR, but him winning the championship in 2011 was a complete sham. I have no love lost for Carl Edwards, who I personally believe to be one of the most low-class drivers NASCAR has ever had, but he should've been champion in 2011 and there is no debate at all. If the sport were still deciding legitimate champions, Stewart wouldn't have been anywhere near the race for the championship but because we're not deciding real champions any more, he literally steals the title because he happened to win more races at a certain point of the season. Carl Edwards had the best overall season and should've been champ in 2011 just he should've been in 2008. Just like Gordon should've been in 2004, 2007, and 2014. Just like Kevin Harvick should've been champion in 2010, 2015 and 2016. Notice a pattern here with this foolishness?
Oh and comparing this to Alan Kulwicki winning the title in 1992 since Stewart was part owner is a crock of shit as well. Stewart was 49% owner of his team and had massive financial backing from Gene Haas whereas Alan was 100% O&O of his team and had only his sponsorship funding which was nothing near what some of the other teams at the time were getting (see Junior Johnson and Budweiser) so to compare this title to Alan's 1992 title is a direct insult to Alan Kulwicki as a driver, an owner, and a person.
Michelle and Jill ruin the entire video.
No they don’t. You’re just angry and old
