Had to watch this race again after watching Emplemon's latest video. His video makes the ending of the race so poetic it's crazy.
He's a god among men
That passage about being followed by the Army and National Guard car and having nowhere to go was beautiful
A true Native American w
1:49:34 Harvick and Gordon battle for 37th down 50 laps
Thanks for the time stamp!
3:19:48 One of the most iconic crashes in NASCAR history
“BRAD KES-EL-OW-SKI WON THIS RACE!” 😂 Classic
Lol he did it because Mike didn't call the winner. Everyone was in shock.
Good ol Larry Mac I don't know why he quit saying reach up there and pull those belts tight one more time right before DW said boogidy boogidy boogidy let's go racing boys lol
Screw you for spoiling the whole race
Carl still got to do a backflip even though he didn't win
underrated comment
Man this is some great HD Quality for 2009, looks like this race is live.
And image 16:9
I noticed that too. And even at 720p upload, it looks as good as 1080p. The camera work was also excellent with great cuts to the best angles throughout. It makes a huge difference for the viewer and the sort of race I can recommend to my non-racing friends.
This is just how HD looked in 2009. Most people's recordings have really reduced the quality of races they uploaded. Races have looked basically as they do now since at least the mid 2000s.
This was the first ever race I watched, I was three at the time, all I could take away from this is Bad Bwad, Carl Edwards is awsome, and big wreck awsome, looking back on it not there is much more than that
ya see the funny thing about nascar is that if u watch long enough, everything comes full circle
emplemon reference
🤣🤣🤣
48:48 Preach DW, preach!!
i love him
Also RIP to that beautiful throwback Pepsi Challenger car
I only saw this car once. :(
Dude ive been all over YT looking for that scheme lol.
Junked 7 laps in.
Lmao that open mic moment during the commercials kill me. But Darrell does make a good point @48:46
But they did have shots of the crews inserting the foam in the barrier in turn 3 and 4.
With Larry Mac eating in the background for good measure
And yet was one of the best Talladega finishes
Such a fun and emotional weekend for me. The day before this race my two uncles and myself attended PINKS ALL OUT at Zmax dragway in Charlotte. Unbeknownst to us after qualifying for the Aaron's 499 at Talladega, Greg Biffle flew straight to Charlotte to do test passes in his drag race prepared Shelby Mustang, not for any official racing but more of a thing to hype the crowd during some downtime. After a 12hr day at Zmax, we stayed the night and drove home the next morning, just in time to watch this race. As a favorite past time my grandfather and myself would always watch the race on Sundays, but that wouldn't be anymore because he passed away on Superbowl Sunday Feb 1 2009. Ironically the Aaron's 499 was held on what would have been his 64th birthday April 25th. The place i worked at the time always had weekly race pools. You put in $10 with a chance to win $100. Well this weekend one of my drivers was Carl Edwards. I never thought he really had a chance to win until his strategy of hanging around the back and making his way up at the end was becoming more of a reality. Needless to say i was on the edge of my seat that last lap.
This was right about when the drivers started realizing that tandem drafting was faster
Brilliant work from Keselowski, then a newbie in the cup series. He did what he had to do to get up front by pushing Edwards and then took advantage of Edwards' drifting too far from the yellow line. I'm not really a Keselowski fan, but that was great stuff...perhaps the best "first cup win" ever.
yeah, and it really wasnt brads fault. Edwards threw a late block
AND BRAD KESELOWSKI, HAS WON THIS RACE
"And we have a caution"
@@williamgrantham4481 I know. I just like how he said it in a similar tone.
This race is what got me into nascar, besides Cars
I was in the stands at this race, about 500 yards from the finish line. I can remember the crowd was absolutely electric the last couple laps, you could feel it in the air. Everyone was screaming so loud and I saw the crash clear as day. Even after the crash, people kept screaming in excitement and confusion. I had no idea I witnessed NASCAR history right before my eyes. I’ll never forget it.
Ironically, the same year, I saw Alabama block Tennessee’s final field goal, which would have won the game. Two historical moments for American sports I witnessed in person in the same year. Very strange.
It dont get no better than that...ROLL DAMN TIDE...
Now that's a Standing Room Only crowd at Talladega Superspeedway. I love it. It's TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY BABY!!!!!!
Sure is nice listening to the announcers talking about the race instead of hearing toyota toyota all the time
I love this race.
me too
Forgot Sorenson drove the 43 in 09. Wow. Remember liking him in the old target dodge way back for myself 😅
Are we ready to hear Mike Joy bury the lead when it comes to the huge crash?
*car flying through the air and tears down the fence*
And that DESTROYED the FRONT END of NEWMAN's car!!!
Yeah Mike, Priorities ;)
And a future Cup champion was born on this day...
on just his 5th start too.
Chase Elliott?

OH YEAH BABY TALLDEGA 2009 The start of a masterpiece rivalry
Yeah it was I'm not a Brad K fan but that wreck at Atlanta in the cup race and the one at gateway in xfinity series scared me I thought Brad K was definitely hurt best part of the feud was Brad K father when he said I'll put my uniform on and take care of it he's not gonna kill my boy lol
The seeds were planted
Then sprouted in Atlanta
Then deforested at the glen
Watched this as a little kid.first time I saw something like this and ill always remember thinking “oh so these little shits can fly”
That made my day, thanks
Carl Edwards played it smart the whole race. All it took was a little bump, aaaaaaaaaand into the air he went.
And Keselowski had no intention of crashing Edwards. He just did what Regan Smith should have done in Fall of 08, which would be passing Tony Stewart by blocking.
Thanks for uploading this.. HD picture quality and 60 fps. Audio quality is good too..
Dale Jr invents the Tandem Draft, Brad K's first win, and the Talladega Night's tribute with Carl Edwards running across the start finish.
Legendary.
2:55:30 Kyle Busch wrecks in front of the field and nearly saves it. WOW.
Good thing this is in 16:9. Of course it’s no surprise since NASCAR on Fox eliminated the 4:3 aspect ratio substitute by the start of 2009.

Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
carl didn't walk away.
he didn't run away.
HE RAN LIKE THE MARATHON RUNNER HE WAS WITH A DETERMINATION TO CROSS THAT LINE
You gotta feel sorry for Kyle Busch when he was turned. What he did to Dale Earnhardt Jr at Richmond in Spring 2008 wasn't intentional.
Amazing after the big one they interviewed Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon back to back. Your current Nascar on FOX analysts today.
Bro I was THERE!!!!!! My 1st race.
What I saw was Montoya went for a hole that wasn’t there and Kenseth was so focussed on the bottom the he forgot Jeff was on the outside of him
Shades of Ricky Bobby
Buena carrera 🏁😎 saludos cordiales desde Barcelona 🇪🇸
2009 was such a great season. If you say otherwise, you're WRONG.
The summer did suck tho
@@Tommy23269 That's not true
8 drivers from this race are still racing cup today
This race was pretty crazy by memory
Nobody ever talks about Jr banging against Keselowski on the entire cooldown lap & then Kyle Busch turning him before he enters pit road
Junior was congratulating him. Keselowski was his protege
That goatee…
I like older Brads face now
Thank You.
3:19:48
your welcome :)
Thanks for this nascar
Ricky Bobby was sponsored by Wonder Bread in Talladega Nights.
Makes sense
Reagan Smith should’ve done to Tony Stewart in 2008 what Brad Keselowski did to Carl Edwards in 2009. Brad did absolutely nothing wrong.
Upload the Montreal and Mexico nationwide races. All of em
Mr. Moseby I suggest the RUclips channel “Some Full Races 2017-2019.” They upload a bunch of races from ARCA, Modified, and International races
KARL EDWARD :HEY NEWMAN I'M SHOW YOU NEWMAN:WHAT. KARL EDWARD:*PUNCH*. NEWMAN:OUCH
That's funny that Brad Keselowski crashed Carl Edwards on the final lap for his first career Sprint Cup Series win in 2009.
Good thing dale jr,spotter tells everything happening behind him. Alrighty come on June bug! Victory!
3:24:10 Anne-Marie Rhodes. What a pleasure to see again this girl. Very classy.
Stug9680 shan mila poor movie shan mila poor movie
3:22:59
Darell walteips reactions are the best he's like omg that's horrible...... buutttt look at this
Catch fence kept debris out of stands my butt. I saw all kinds of stuff go flying in crowd. Luckily nothing to big
No mention of Busch and Keselowski colliding on pit road after the race?
U mean on the frontstretch? Kyle Busch spun Brad out as a good natured gag.
3:20:05 Now That is what you call a wreck.
3:24:00 "Everyone is gonna say Kyle Busch spun the winner out after the race but I beg to pardon with you."
Lolol. "Beg to pardon with you????"
This race came on my 5th birthday and i had no idea NASCAR even existed
oof
I was in kindergarten. 6 years old. Turned 7 that september on the 20th.
I was 8. Time flies by so fast.
In a way I liked the tandem draft in a way I didn't I remember one of the plate races Denny Hamlin was about to get lapped and Joe Gibbs had one of the team mate's to go back to push him up in the pack
You’d be top 5 CFB if u posted, cuz this is AMAZING
Brad did what he had to he started passing for the win,and Carl tried to block a car with momentum.
3:19:47 wreck is here
When Edwards hits the catch fence you can see a woman in a green shirt and sun hat who appears to get hit in the face with a piece of fencing. 3:22:38
Brad Keselowski be like: I like ya cut g.
Is it just the way the cameras filmed it or did the day on this race just look beautiful?
Who else came here after today’s Talladega race?
Hoy mucho race nascar todos año
I was at this race. Carl’s car was in mid air as his car was passing me.
Put all 4 Races in FOX West and East
Look at 24:50, they try hard not to ascribe blame but they were really quick to say Kenseth came up on Jeff. He did, but look at the situation he was in. He just had Jeff behind him and he was 3 wide, and then going into that turn, Jeff Gordon puts his nose between 17 and 77. I'd normally say that's Jeff's fault for taking it 4 wide, but it really is just a Dega crash. You can't avoid it when you're being pushed into it into a turn.
I miss old brad
15:03 - BIG ONE #1
3:06:26 - BIG ONE #2
Mike Joy is the best Nascar weatherman, I love it. Lol.
Remembered The 1979 Nascar Replay
single file restarts how I miss thee
...why?
Brad K back in 2009 had a weird southern accent that I've never heard from him since
Especially since he's from the suburbs of Detroit.
So glad for the booth change this year to Boyer and Gordon. DWs boring commentary put me to sleep for years.
I can’t tell if tats a joke
Coronavirus sent me here...just watching old races.
The final lap crash at Daytona also brought me here
"This is Nascar racing, and this is cool"-youngBrad
lmao ambrose somehow managed to avoid all 3 wrecks and ended up 4th..... pretty good result for a road course guy who was in 20th most of the race
That 99 turned into the 66 car real quick
carl edwards roof touch the catchfence
3:23:50 Kyle Busch almost sends Brad K into the wall 😳😳😳
WOW GREAT RACE AND A HAIRY FINISH IM HAPPY CARL EDWARDS IS OK
Man, there were some really destroyed cars in this race! Forgot how hard Robby Gordon hit that inside wall.
3:20:26 anybody watched Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby? Insert the Pat Banatar We Belong.
Crazy race👍👌✌
First ever raced I attended

Can someone send me the link to watch the irace, eraces whaterver?
I want to watch now races.
Iracing NASCAR Pro invitational is on FOX and FS1. I think the links been taken down the second they get uploaded.
brad keselowski had won the race
Was Clint Bowyer injured? I don't remember Casey Mears driving the 07 car
SigmaNuHE481 no mears just sucked
When Casey Mears joined RCR thye moved Clint Bowyer into the 33 car I think RCR retired both numbers when they left
Kasey Kahne is hilarious bruh
Holy toxic blocking from the #18.
3:06:27 3:06:29 trouble
Omg a hard crash of the 99 car he flip so so so hard
3:22:37, super crash, Quem era pra ter vencido era o Earnhardt Jr.
We still had single file restarts in 09???
Shocked me too. (I'm pretty young, didn't start watching "retro" races like this until last year)
