If you are truly an old-school FUNKA-TIER, you know the sound cannot be duplicated by facsimile thereof. I have been funken since 1971, the cats that were with George was Great musicians back in the 70's. Much different SOUND!!!!
I disagree. I’ve been a Funkateer since the 70’s. The current band plays the songs more in the pocket, more in the tempo of the original recording. Back in the day, they played the songs faster. That said, you can never replace Garry, Glen and Eddie. The harmonies aren’t as good without the Bridges, Parlet and the OG Parliament. But the music is on point.

I remember when was a little kid I use jump up there wit em then it just got so professional i couldn't do it no more 1st generation I'm coming from funkadelic, free your mind , maggot brain, america eats it young. Only place to stand was on the stage back then.
George looks in great fighting trim for a man his age n disposition considering the years of dope etc. He looks positively energetic. Bless his heart. Also considering 90% of the original cats are literally ‘gone’ I’m glad they’ve managed to both keep the funk alive and maintain the hoped fo excellence one would expect t from the Funk Mob
Listen to them live in 1978 on YT.This drummer is not really dragging,my opinion,he's just playing it old school. The new school drummers like to double and Triple up,ala Gospel chops. That's not and never been the Funkadelic groove.I know that because I'm a drummer from that era...
so am i , and i've heard different drummers play this tune , Jerome bigfoot Braily , Dennis chambers, Tiki Fullwood and a host of others ; personally i think Braily played it best even though we all know what a monster Dennis chambers is there is just something about the way bigfoot played it but however this drummer is dragging cosmic slop and as for the the rest of the show he's just too low energy and unimaginative for my taste.@@kurtpatterson1296
as a drummer, I agree with the late 70s comparison, yet regardless of drummer or decade, all tempos are set by the master of ceremonies. I've seen him replace drummers mid-song when they couldn't sync up with his determination of the "one." plus he's an octogenarian who shelved a 30 + year cocaine "habit." those two factors alone will result in a swampier overall groove. funk is always coming, never going. chocolate-freaking habit forming. much love to the funk mob
Shat!!!!! One of the best P-Funk Concerts I've heard in a LONG TIME!!!!!!

Last year was the first time I saw them in concert in Cleveland and it was one big party!!! Great show!!!
The three songs from the new album at the time are the highlight of the show!
SAW 👀 DUDE and his CLASSICALLY-TRAINED MAESTRO/VIRTUOSO BAND 🎶 🎵 in 1975!!! P-FUNK unequivocally is TIMELESS 🏆 ⛳️, you need to know 🤔.

it's always great to see p funk live but i would enjoy this show more if the drummer was'nt dragging the tempo so much .

As a drummer strongly agree and I'm not even a professional drummer
