Best live set I've found thus far... every funking moment leading up to Glenn & swing low, can't believe I've lived this long without this in my life & the girls... so on the one it's ridiculous.
What real music sounds like. At 11:35 trombone solo. Easily 10 people on stage all playing their part; 50% improvised chaos, 50% tight musical precision from the rhythm section. brilliant. 1:01:00 glenn goins takes everyone to church. you can't teach this. the glory of pfunk.
Michael Hampton was barely old enough to f@cking drink when he played this show, and burned the place down. From the cradle straight to the Mothership!

mary he may not be a conventional singer but I love his voice from those records. All of the freebasing and crack smoking ruined what voice he had though. Sounds like a hoarse old frog not. Poor George
Thomas Minarchick Jr. George was never a great singer. Glenn’s voice was still mint condition imo when he died. P-Funk had about a dozen steady vocalists, each has their own story.
I remember when they landeed the Ship at "Soldiers Field" in Chicago. It was a glorious Summer, that year. Smoking on some fine "Panama-Red" and enjoying the ride. Damn! I miss those days.
