I Put My Ford F-250 On The COMPLETE BG Diet... Will It Run Better?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 окт 2024
- I put a lot of miles on my 2018 Ford F-250 in the last couple years. Now it's time to do a service that goes the extra mile. Instead of a quick oil change we're doing the complete BG service using all their diesel products (something I've never tried before). You can see the results from their test vehicle in the video, and although I don't have anyway to compare them to mine. I'm counting on it making my truck run like new and hopefully I can see the MPG gain and feel the horsepower in the seat dyno!

I would highly recommend checking/resetting your tire pressures as part of your maintenance. That's one of the biggest factors for fuel mileage gain or loss.
As funny as the name is, a "digital inflator" (that auto shuts off at a set pressure) is definitely worth getting. (Even handier for bikes where you lose a few pounds pressure just to check...)
Lol I like how he calla the gas station the casino
Well the pumps _are_ One Arm Bandits now...
They’ve all got slots or button games out there in them small towns same here. Would make even more sense in Oklahoma tho haha
I remember in 1994 when Dodge introduced the controversial but game-changing Ram. They had a Ram3500 Duallie and instead of ripping back the curtains and unveiling it on a stage, they dropped it ONTO the stage from one story above the ground. Jaws were on the floor. Trucks were so tough and could take a beating. They sat all day in the sun with the doors open and the radio playing. They were rained in and mud was kicked into places to never be seen again. 295,000 miles was no sweat! Buttons and knobs were built to take a boot to the face.
It seems all the truck companies today make fragile delicate status appliances now that require a scanner and a light touch.
I worked for Pennzoil for a few years, I used to cringe when I heard an older Power stroke come in. It was 17-18 quarts of Indian ink that would stain anything it got on.
BG should invite you to tour their lab.
They probably will once they finish their new building
From JR vids, construction seems kinds slow in Kansas. He still hasn't finished his Avalon King detail Bay, because of his sewage connection. Imagine how long this must take for the BG guys
Great line “at the casino about to lose all my money.” Yup, that’s what it’s like going to gas stations now.
Jonny was the first one to tell me about BG's products. You're paying a lot less for fuel in Wichita than most other places in the county. If you're going on any road trips, it's well worth grabbing a bunch of 5ga gas cans and filling them up and taking them on the road instead of filling up in other areas.
Great idea, im in south florida paying $5.60 for premium 🙃
@@jamesmiranda7127 about the same in south GA.
@@jamesmiranda7127 Here in New Zealand WE are paying NZ$13 a US gallon about US$9. so suck it up
I'd like to see the rest of LS Fest! After all that work to get that pig of an S10 ready and to get 11 minutes.... There's gotta be more to that!
In the Uk we currently pay £8.87 for a gallon of diesel and prices are still rising. Expecting to pay £2 a litre soon or £9 a gallon . Which is 11 US dollars 🤬
I believe the paint you are referring to is por-15. Can attest. It is coating my hands as I type this
I use a $9 kids swimming pool from the dollar store to change the oil in my Powerstroke. It dang bears goes tire to tire. Never spilled a drop and it’s cheaper than most drain pans. Then I just use a transfer pump to put it in the jugs I just emptied. I threw my old pool out after 2 years due to not having any room but when they hit clearance this year I’ll buy a couple more just for that.
That is a highly technical piece of modern equipment that the pine or oak is made from, color me impressed. 😂seriously very cool 😎
You use a simmilar piece of wood but with notches in one side to set up the brakes in a Model A. Technology hasn't changed much!
I was working at AutoZone in college and some guy had an oil cooler issue in his F250 or 350. I remember that he came in and purchased a couple of gallons of Rotella. I went out to clean the parking lot that night and there was probably a gallon or two of used oil in parking lot and all over the parking block. It took months to work that stain most of the way out. Grinding oil dry in at night. Before rain, treating it with purple power and scrubbing it with a broom..
Giving it the equivalent of a tuneup etc should make it run better. Always did on my cars so watching now.
Stop in Cincinnati on your way through and get some skyline chili!!
Gross, plus he’s going to Ohio, not the capital of Kentucky 😂
I love me some BG!
Been using it for decades!
2:50 PERFECTO!! I thought another video had started playing in different tab and it just matched the tone perfectly. LMAO
wix standard is a better filter than the XP, XP is for longer oil change intervals. Standard filters down to a smaller micron size.
I'm probably the only person here who doesn't fully comprehend the necessity of burning maybe $600-$800 in diesel to have a $60,000 monster truck pull a $10,000 trailer with a little show truck motionless on top because apparently the show truck is too precious to be driven. The logic escapes me. But I do enjoy watching stuff get worked on, so...thanks.
You aren't the only one...
No A/C in the show truck.
The whole thing isn't about the show car, but ALL the cars. He's had it for 2 years now and it's been solid.
A stock F-250 is a monster truck?
The 10w30 is only recommended for the fuel economy. So yeah 2 mpg makes sense with lighter oil.
It would be nice if they did the Dodge/Cummins thing and had a high idle that could be set using the cruise control buttons
seat and stick>
Yeah I was wondering if he could set a high idle with a bidirectional scan tool...
@@brandonruhl4525 👌Fast idle stick, miiint
This is the Advanced Hovies. Much classy
Someone should make cat and tank protection shields fitted with explosive die packs so you don’t win the jackpot of having your tank drilled and your cat stolen.
I’m glad I don’t have a 2 tank diesel. The Mustang takes 93 plus an octane booster. All in in all, it’s about $90 a fill up in Georgia.
Even your most expensive fuel is still cheaper than anywhere in uk….i am currently paying 1.92 per litre….( 3.8 litres per us gallon ) half of what we pay is tax
Keep some “Before” oil. Send it to the lab with the “After” oil. Tell us the comparative results. Make a video of it.
Been using a fumoto valve on my diesel for years with no issues and no spills. I have no affiliation with this company.
Another great video from JR. Thanks
There is a way I got my 06 powerstroke to go up to high idle. It basically tricks it into thinking a PTO option is turned on. Uses one of the aux switches.
Only $4.99 for a gal of diesel??? I'm jealous.
A pre pollution diesel running at peek efficiency will have much cleaner oil because less halfburnt fuel will be sooting things up.
I work right across the street from ls fest and I still managed to miss it
I went bought 2 filters last week for my trucks. One was a Wix as expected. The next was in a wix box but had a note in it… sheesh i was pissed and will look next time. It said it was made for wix but not if it was the same quality. Three shades of pissed.
BG Good stuff I’ve been in the car and truck buisness for over 30yrs and it’s always pulled through !!
take that stuff to Wizard he'll taste test it for you lol
I use a 5gallon bucket. Hardest part is the filter but it keeps from making a mess
I didn't know BG was a brand and just thought maybe you meant something like the "bottle god diet". Like goin' on down to the Auto Zone and prayin' to the bottle God's your rear main seal leak stops.
If those tests were done by a Independent Lab I would put more faith in them results.
Figures don't lie, but liar's can use figures to say anything they want
Cleaned the MAP sensor and the EGR tube on my ECO Diesel.......the absolute worst carbon/soot/tar I have ever seen in anything. The staining from it makes the super jet black used engine oil seem like childs play!
Anyone that jumps on you thinking you don't know something doesn't know you lol
Call him 100% Jake the stud. He was out driving his electric car in a flood in a huge lightening storm. Tough guy.
On this video, JR not only says the "f" word, but actually uses a funnel. How embarrassing for him.
Only $4.99? I’ve been paying $6.29 for diesel for like two months here in CT.
What was the stuff that hoovies 1million mile truck first owner used because hoovie said the owner used a certain product and never told us what it was
Is that a second airport tug behind you at the end there? (The white thing) I thought you decided you had no particular use for them....
Project Farm I have anew video for you 1:48
Infinite times, yes!
Send a sample of that oil to Blackstone Labs and tell us what you get.
Why would that year of truck have any running issues?
Man what tires are backordered that long for the 250? Maybe look at least times on Toyo Open country 3's? I know lots of guys running them on their diesels (they're proper E load)
F250 🙌🏽
you should of seen the oil on my folks 03 MercedesE270cdi, it had 41000 miles on it. very very overdue. it was the blackest thing i´d ever seen.
Might be a mile or two past the service interval 😂
@@airsoft9077 oh for sure. Dash said 1300days overdue.
It was a constant reminder
Mum bring your car over for a service. Oh OK... forgets repeat
Amazing the thing isn't dead but that 5cyl meecedes diesel is a tank of an engine
Can you not use the cruise control to idle up my 20 model ram cummins will idle up with the cruise control?
"bags of oil" dang first came bags of milk now bags of oil?
Diesel gang 😅
Gotta love those prices 🤑🤑
Still want a Rally Fighter lol
So did I catch that right - "lifetime bumper to bumper warranty"? I'd be down for that next car I buy from CarMax. The last couple was up to 100k miles or so many years - if there's a "lifetime" option I'll opt for that for sure...
Read the fine print on that warranty when you buy it. There is a “maximum benefit” clause, a friend of mine hit it in his Focus ST bought from CarMax with the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty. To their credit, it took 2 engine replacements and one transmission to get there. That warranty paid for itself over 3 times.
Ex CarMax "associate" a lifetime warranty is not offered
And bumper to bumper is a term the salesman will use, but it is not all that inclusive
Just makes me wonder.. why are those engines such a bad design they require such additional treatments? I've had many Diesel vehicles here at the other side of the pond and NONE has required additional services outside normal service program. Each of those had been driven by me at least for 120K mi and the temperatures do vary here from really cold during winters. to failry warm at summers. I wonder if that kind of vehicle would be held here, how mcuh would the service costs be heh. ...or are these additional maintenances just to promote certain products?
What happened with S 10 buddy?
33 gallon tank if only my suburban was that small 42 gallon tank and its tuned for 93 octane fuel and only gets 10mpg
Did you find any gas deals on Diesel on your trip? or have any fuel discount coupons, etc? I heard there was one gas station that stopped selling gasoline and only kept their store open because they couldn't stomach selling gas at the current prices to their customers. There was some other dispute too, but basically that was it.
So, Does the recommended specifications on fluid changes don't work? I am not putting snake oil in my truck... hehe
I hope you move from Avalon King to something else JR. I guess they sponsor you, but I've found some strange stuff with Avalon King, especially the stuff on Amazon you can buy for 1/3rd the price of Armor Shield IX, but is the exact same thing. I've run tests with Armor Shield IX and it is staggering how short the duration and life of the coating really is. I've been using some professional grade stuff that doesn't require some BS "course" and certificate to use and install that has insane gloss and a life of 5+ years that puts other companies with hyped up commercialization to shame.
for the cost of BG recomended service schedule one could pretty much buy a new engine at 150k miles.
Im sorry, I WOULD NEVER EVER RUN 10W30... SHEESH... its 5w40 for ANY turbo diesel.. at least any one that you actually care about.. or 15W-40
Don’t worry it’ll be back in the shop soon it’s garbage
Yeah, try filling that F250 in Sweden... $9.7 USD per gallon.
Motul is out I assume?
Should've done tire pressure and a fuel filter/air filter.
You still working on that wash bay or did it get changed?
10w-30, wow, every diesel I've ever owned used 15w-40
3:11 Does Edgar Wright direct your videos now?
$4.99? Wish that was what it is here in SC.
BG makes good stuff.
Mechanic in a can, additives not required if normal suggested procedures and intervals followed
Ford does have a very specific, and quite rigorous, program for servicing both of your cooling systems. You do realize that you have two of them, right?
$4.99 a gallon is better than a lot of places! still sucks though
Will bg work on my hemi ram?
I always love that truck. It just has that perfect look. My friend had one just like it until some woman decided that she didn't have to stop at red lights. If it would have happened 5 minutes later I would have been sitting in that passenger seat. She had an Escalade and she told my friend's truck with that.
I hope you make a video after your truck's detailed. I'm interested in seeing if it's a big difference or not. It already looks very good I cannot imagine it looking that much difference since you do take care of it.
And it's always I made sure to give you a big old thumbs up and I look forward to your next video.
You really should wear gloves when changing diesel oil, that stuff is highly carcinogenic (so you really don't want it staining your fingers).
GIVE US MORE S10
Be real nice if BG would sell to normal people. I am not enthusiastic about $1000 to the mechanic for stuff I can do at home myself.
Vanta Black oil
F250's are like fat chicks, they need love too.
Geez I paid that much to put diesel in my Jetta, for 53 litres.
Diesel is so much higher than gas, it doesn’t make sense.
Not long ago diesel was way cheaper than gas....a lot less procedures to process diesel. They changed how they sell diesel. Diesel is now priced by mileage to match how cars use gas. Highway robbery if you ask me.
I use bg in my kia soul, keeps the engine clean, these dgi motors can start using oil from the carbon buildup. I have used this stuff once the car hit 3,000 miles, and am at 7800 miles over 3 year's. I use it in my 05 ranger that was my biological dad's, and it runs better, doesn't use oil either at 128,000 miles. I do plan on trying liquid moly, because ms39 restorations showed good results on the old bmw's he restores. God bless everyone.
Thanks, clean out that old engine. I put a shot of seafoam in my oil on the way to get it changed, told helpful told harmful
The last thing I saw about Seafoam was that it was okay in its time but not very useful in modern cars.
@@InsideOfMyOwnMind I still use it in my 2007 and it still works great. It still has a place and more so for cars with oil pressure controlled cam phasers. Gotta keep the oil passages clean for them to work well. I switched to full synthetic long ago and that made the biggest difference. The inside of my overhead cam valve cover looks like new metal with ZERO black goo anywhere. I do a seafoam treatment in the oil and gas around every couple years.
Find a truck in Ohio to sell me while in Ohio. It's the Ohio challenge.
I don’t understand while all your Americans use those little tiny oil bottles? What you must have used 10-15 bottles to fill that up?? In Australia we buy oil in 10 or 20l containers!
5Qt jugs are common and a lot cheaper than buying the individual 1 qt bottles.
Your diesel is cheaper, In NC it is $5.79.
My 7.3 averaged 18mpg lol
33 gallons x $11 per gallon = $363 dollars to fill 'er up, you would not own that truck in the UK🤣
Where are you going in Ohio
Not sure if i would trust BG motor oil
Poor fella he needs glasses if he thinks the barbie and ken fun truck looks better than the Ford 🤣😂😂😆😆😆
It's amusing that you actually believe this crap. I've worked in several dealerships, and BG is just a profit center for the service dept. With all the vehicles having such extended service intervals, the only way for the service dept. to make money, is with warranty repairs, recalls and products like BG and their various system flushes. (None of which are recommended by the manufacturers.)
Did I see 4.99 DIESEL!!! You lucky bastage I’m paying 6.29 in ME. Pretty sad
Where in Ohio are you going to pick up the car? If you have time for a fan meetup, post on Insta! Lots of Cars & Coffees this time of year.
Yo
underwhelming content - please do the mezzanine office - make the truck a table - at 6 bucks a gallon the diesel is not a deal and the voliatility of the mkt is going to go on for 5 years - says exxon - they are loving it #fomoco

I want $5 a gallon gas
