Thank you so much for the video. Our 07 Acadia just started to heat up while in traffic and very hot weather. I had checked and refilled the coolant. Next to check is the Temp sensor, thermostat, and lastly the radiator.
If you're having to refill the coolant, it's going somewhere. Check for leaks and check your oil as well for any coolant in it. Also check around that thermostat housing, ours had a slow leak for quite a long time before I got around to replacing it. That lead to strange things, I believe it could have also been sucking small amounts of air into the system too maybe.
@@brenth7774 Thank you for the reply. I drove it to Bass Lake, CA this past weekend and noticed the fans were not turning on. Discovered this thing has THREE fan relays....purchased the only two that the store had on inventory in Fresno, CA...and the third one was the culprit. (phew!) I was getting ready to get hit with a huge bill but $40 did it. Had a blast on 4th of July!
Thanks for the warning video. FYI: I bought the same part from Amazon about a month ago. The pipes are angled correctly and there is no epoxy at any pipe joint to the main casting. Also, there is a manufacturer name and part number embossed on the main casting: WAHLER BW175.1 which matches the OEM part you got form Chevrolet. It looks like you got a returned part that someone tried to "fix" before returning it to Amazon.
Glad to hear. I guess it could be the case but there was similar epoxy on the factory one that I took off if I recall correctly. We've since gotten rid of the Acadia, it did serve us well for almost 8-9 years or so.

Thanks for the helpful video! Looking to replace mine. Really great pointers you mentioned and definitely going to go the AC Delco route.

Awesome news glad I went AC DELCO FOLLOWED MY FIRST MIND
You can get the AC Delco part on Amazon for about 50 bucks now
How did you take the two hoses off to remove the whole housing? Thank you
they have a disconnect fitting clip - you have to push the two tabs in, push the hose in slightly and then it should come off.
Are able to just replace the thermostat
Bruh. We get that. Sooo?? Can we move on to the install wtf?? Geeez. Change the video name to why not to buy a cheap part 😆
