Absolutely. The wild horses are something everyone..well almost...wants to help. But, the big hearts may want the best, but it's a job that must take a lot of work! And $$$$...especially if they are ill. But, everyone loves a lover of horses. Respect, when they can't help like they hoped, but still got them out of a desperate situation. Hats off...

@@beverlycass1840 I don't believe you. Not if she was reasonably polite. All rescuers care a lot about horses. That's why they do it. They even tolerate a certain amount of rudeness, just to get the horses to a safe place, so whatever she said must have been pretty abusive, or led them to believe it was a fake call.
In fact your way of asking your questions was confrontational, both times. Could "your friend" really be you?

    • @cattymajiv
      @cattymajiv 10 месяцев назад +1

@@georgiagonzales3769 Can you bequeath her to somebody in your will? Maybe a family member or friend? Even if they can't take care of her long term, maybe they will promise to surrender her to a reputable rescue org. Then you will know she will be safe.
Or maybe you can make arrangements with the nearest rescue org, and keep instructions regarding that beside your bed. Is the horse kept at your home? What if you suddenly get sick and are unable to care for her?
I know how painful this must be. Despite many years of riding and working with nearly a hundred horses overall, I was never able to have my own. It was my 1 goal in life, even more than having kids. So not being able to do it hurt so badly, and it still does very much!
I did have cats though. My last cat died a year ago at about 16. It was a very hard decision not to get another one, but my age was the deciding factor. I'm 63, and I do have some health issues. It's pretty lonely now.
Do you still ride? Is there some body who can come and ride her regularly under your supervision, to keep her in shape physically and mentally.
I wish I were able to go there, find a place in town and visit you, to help you with taking take of her, perhaps exercising her a bit for you if needed, and supporting you in your decisions. But sadly I can't do that. Even in the unlikely event that you would allow a stranger into your life, it's not possible. I have a 2 story house that I need to unclutter here, before I get too sick to do it. So I'm not really able to offer that kind of help anyway, at least not for a year or 2.
But if you want somebody to talk to over the phone for support, I can give you my email address, and over email I can give you my phone number. I can't give any advice, but I can certainly listen and understand, and I would love to be of some use to somebody. Please let me know if I should give you the email address. I would use a disposable address, so that it won't matter if it's made public. Then afterwards I would delete the reference to it here.
Whatever you do, I wish you and your horse all the best. Lots of love to you both!

Nice work. The only thing I would suggest is ...not to let them graze on green grass for more than 20 minutes the 1st day. .. then add 20 min. Sessions each day until they get used to being on pasture again...just to avoid any problems. I also would worm them, & vaccinate on site before bringing them home...to avoid bringing anything back to your barn. With cats, & dogs...I go straight to the vet, then, as with any new animals, keep them quarantined for 10 days from your other animals. Always go over your trailers...to make sure everything is safe...especially the floors, & floor framing, tires, hitches, brakes, lights...etc..."Prevention is worth a # of cure !"

Its crazy people don't realize the cost of owning a horse, pasture, hay grain, salt blocks, wormer, fly protection, then vet bills farrier costs every 6 weeks, not to mention tack is very expensive. One emergency trip to an equine vet costs thousands. Atleast these horses looked to be in decent body condition, the owner did them a favor by letting them go before they were skin and bones. One other crazy thing is that hay 2 years ago was $2.50 a bale, now $6 for ever smaller bales. Grain was $8 a bag, now $25. Multiply that by 4 head and what was recently affordable is now impossible. So at least the owner made a good decision for their situation.

To: RH Farm Rescue and Stables: Good video. Well done! I grew up around horses. Got my horse when I was in 6th Grade, and my sister got hers a couple of months later. Have ridden in a few horse shows and gymkhanas and on Trail Rides and have trimmed horse hooves and announced a few Horse Shows. Am now retired and wish I could afford a horse and a place for one so that my Grandkids could learn about good stuff instead of watching Sci-Fi Space junk.
I say that you and your helpers/associates got verrrrry lucky with those unknown horses and getting them into the horse trailers and then getting them out at the destination without any blood or broken bones (horse or human). I have seen some horses go totally ape shape / NUTS in the skull concerning horse trailers. Lead ropes broken / halters broken / people kicked or stepped on by a horse and the horse hurt by the wood and metal of the trailer as they stomped / kicked / reared. Horses are prone to spooking easily.

They all look pretty good, so I must have missed the "why" of the emergency reason. Even the draft isn't looking all that bad either, depending on her age, perhaps she does need some added weight.

@@joanbryant4601 Absolutely right! If only all horse owners had a heart like this one. To sell them, for the few hundred at most that it would bring in, is SUCH a despicable act!
If only the govt funded rescue ops, and if they were the gateway to the auctions, and if every horse that needs help, or fails to be sold to a CERTIFIED good quality home, would go the rescues instead, what a better world it would be!
Backyard breeding, and even a lot of for profit breeding, would need to be banned and punished too. The root of the problem is that there are too many horses, so many are not valued as they should be.
This would create higher prices at the low end, but in my mind that's ok. Only people who can afford to care for them should buy them. I'm sad to say that as badly as I have always wanted horses, I'm one of those who wouldn't be able to do it. But that is the reality.
It would also create a shortage of meat for dog food, and a subsequent HUGE price increase, but in my mind that is also good, because there are also FAR TOO MANY DOGS AND CATS, any hundreds ARE PUT TO SLEEP EVERY DAY, in just the US! And not in the kindest of ways.
I have seen videos that so heartbreaking that I've had to turn them off because the sound of the suffering was just too much. Every SPCA etc has to do mass euthanasia on an almost daily basis, because there are just too many unwanted animals! So increased costs, and the resultingly smaller number of them, would be a good thing too.
Imagine, every year there'd be millions of animals less that suffer in unimaginable ways ! ! ! Over just a few years, maybe 10 years, there would be BILLIONS less animals suffering, and dying in the worstv ways imaginable!
Doesn't that mean anything to people? I sometimes think it doesn't.
We all need to donate to the rescue operation of our choice ! ! ! We should all check if they are a registered charity, then give whatever we can. Every dollar counts.

These horses look in pretty good condition. It's better to give horses over to a rescue place when you can't take care of them any more, or in financial hardship before the horse get to skinny or sick, when that happens that is abuse and neglect and you can be locked up for animal abuse, so don't let it get that far people.
