The first year it opened (was it 1983??) as the Cyclone (a fully wooden only coaster, with no underwheels to lock the train to the track) I had a season's pass. Back then the park was called Riverside Park. The coaster that first year was INCREDIBLE! It was so fast and rough that it threw me around like a rag doll, and I swear the train itself left the track for a split second at the top of the first hill (which was an immediate bend). Cyclone indeed! Because you felt like you were in one when you rode it! And because I had a season's pass, I rode it often! One night, I was in line waiting to get on, and my friend was riding it when someone fell out. Apparently, at the top of that first hill where it goes into an immediate bend, some joker tried standing up and he fell out. Fortunately for him, he managed to grab hold of the railing, so he did not fall to the ground...but I believe that he broke his hip or something (it was a long time ago). Nobody on the coaster realized that he had fallen out until the train arrived back in the station. My friend who was riding the coaster at the time told me that as they arrived in the station, some girl started crying out, "HE'S GONE! HE'S GONE!" It was the girl that had sat next to him...it was only then that everyone realized what had happened. Needless to say, they shut the coaster down for the night and I never got to ride it anymore that day. On another occasion when I was riding the coaster, it got stuck midway up the lifthill. We waited for like an hour for them to get us down! But what a great coaster it was!
I prefer Wicked Cyclone, mainly because of it’s relentlessness and how Superman’s restraints are trash. However, if it was still Bizarro with the Bizarro trains, then I wouldn’t be able to decide.
+CoasterWizard239 1 Not really. With hangtime it feels like you're hanging from the lap bars. Hangtime is what I'd describe the feeling on slower inversions like a Sky Rocket 2 or Superloop. This however feels like a pop of ejector air you get when you're upside down.
I’ve ridden it about seven times between now and last summer. It is butter smooth. The back seat is the best. Love the first drop. I wish it was faster. I’m torn on which one I like better. This, or Superman. Great video. Thanks.

flashback is really smooth but because of how many G's you pull on flashback it would be a really good challenge to do it with your not so digested spicy chips. I can see the disaster already

Honestly this is probably my favorite coaster. There have been a few times that the line is super short and I was able to go nearly twice in a row. I wasn't able to go on the original Cyclone but I'm glad they replaced it lol.
When I went here in the beginning of June, this was the first coaster we hit up. We rode it 11 times in the 2 1/2 days we were there, it's by far the smoothest roller coaster I have ever ridden as well. I can't wait until August when I hit SFMM to ride Twisted Colosses, Hybrids have become my favorite type of roller coaster.
RMCs are like mature students at school, always being quiet when the teacher says too, unlike B&Ms which are rattlesnakes because they can rattle loudly.
You should check out Goliath at my homepark, Six Flags Great America! It's got the best drop on any coaster I've been on! Back row is definitely the best. Yeah, the ride may be short but with a dive loop and a zero g stall it sure packs a punch. If you have a season pass I definitely recommend coming out to Six Flags Great America.
I would like to know that for some reason in the blue train is like so many bumps along the track that a really rough and hurt a lot so like not really a lot so the first one is for both trains at the bottom of the drop and the second one is for the Blue train it's at the the middle of the over bank then the exit of the overbank before the attack there he'll then after the ejector hill before the zero-g still and after the zero-g stall before that second overbank then at the center of that second over bank and then right before the double down as the final one really aggressive thumps for some reason I'm the only one who notices it
The ride never has any long ride lines anymore. The past few times I went (which are week days normally), tend to never be crowded. I was able to get on five times in a row. It is rarely ever down (unlike Goliath, which seems to constantly be down, though has approved on thus season). Each train offers a different experience, with only the back being painful (which is really on that first hill, since they push the lap bar too tight on me). I would say this, and Superman easily make the park already worth the visit.
The last 2 times I've visited SFNE were both weekends, one was Columbus Day Weekend 2015 and one was last weekend (June 24th and 25th, 2017). During the first visit, WC had a line of about 30 minutes the whole day, while Superman (back then it was Bizarro) had an hour and a half or more. The second time, WC was walk on from opening until about 7:00 pm, and from then on it was about 15 minutes. I don't understand why Superman gets so many more people. And to combat the pain in the back, you can sit forward and puff out your stomach in the station, then sit back once they try pushing it down to leave yourself some wiggle room.
Probably because Superman is the most notable attraction in the park, has been for 15 years, and you can see it from everywhere. When walking through the park, WC is surprisingly hidden behind Goliath in most view points, and then eyes tend to gravitate toward New England Sky Screamer. I'd guess people forget it's even there
So true tho...I was driving to the park and WC looked closed so once I got to the front gate on the M&M bridge I wanted to see if it was running; I couldn't even see it
Even Superman has had less and less riders, as has Goliath. Honestly, the longest lines recently have been for rides such as thunderbolt, as well as the Joker. The park has seen a slight decline in attendance, which is probably going to be due to increases in prices around the entire park. Plus, with the weather, more people tend to go towards the water park now. This has been more along the recent weekends, but of course, as summer goes on, the amount of visitors increase. If you want shorter ride times, go in October, on Sunday, when the weather is cloudy, at opening. Here, everything is walk on ride times, and most people go later for fright fest. I think SF:NE will experience its most visitors in the time between Fourth of July to the closing of the water park, since this is when the park experiences its largest guest count peak. It all changes based on the factors of weather, date, time of day. Most of the riders will go on Superman at dusk, because the sunset with the ride is stunning.
When I went Thunderbolt was a good 45 minutes at the start of the day. The operations were just so bad. Same with Goliath. The crews for WC and Superman, however, were dispatching trains so they didnt stack at all.
this was my first and still favorite RMC. since I rode this a couple weeks after it opened, I've ridden Twisted Colossus, Lightning Rod, Goliath, New Texas Giant, and Iron Rattler. Wicked Cyclone is still king. side note...I was here 2 weeks after opening and they were assigning seats. do they still do this?
All RMC's are awesome but this is one of the "weaker" RMC's (I use that term fairly loosely) just ahead of Joker at Discovery Kingdom. My favorite is Goliath but I have yet to get on Lightning Rod and Iron Rattler (and a few others)

I love Wicked Cyclone. It is my new favorite coaster there.

I loved it. I rode it for the first time last night. Awesome. Fast. Smooth. Lots of air time. My first time going inverted. It was cool.
My home park is Great Adventure but I CRAVE Wicked Cyclone. I got to do it while I was up in MA for college. Worth the trip.

Batman has a rattle. Especially when you hit the corkscrews, while WC is 100% smooth.
rode it 17 times in a day and a half... needless to say the park was pretty deserted
