this was the band I literally got a job to get money to go see as a teenager because I came from poverty and when I finally got to see this band it was that much more important to me because I had to work for it. I pushed lawn mowers. I walked dogs. I flipped some burgers. I went to the show and bought ST and Iowa since I only had burned copies at the time because, well, I was poor. This album is very important to me because I remember my IOWA burnt CD didn't have this song on it for whatever reason and this song has always been one of my favs. Stay (sic).

    Lyrics:
Gently my mind escapes into the relaxing mode of pleasure
A pleasure that will take my mind off the reality of life
    My past life
Life as I know it now
And whatever may come it slowly disappears
To somewhere in the back of my mind
It will remain there until I wish to retrieve it
Yes, I will stay here for awhile for I need the break
A break from the pressures of life
And everything that lay in the palm of life's hands
    This mode is incredible
    It's out of this world
Too bad I must always leave it
    But that's life
    That's life

I grew up in a chaotic house, mom was a drug addict, parents fought a lot. As a teenage when this album came out, I remember becoming obsessed with this song. This song becoming one of the first songs that I got goosebumps to. I'd lay in my bed and listen to this over and over just listening and "escaping". It's crazy how songs can shape your teenage years. This album is phenomenal and holds up today.

Evertime I hear this song, I break down in tears, the opening gives off a sense of deafeat, a bigger world shreading before your eyes, and Corey's screams bring a sense of anger and sadness.
Edit: The past two months have been a huge shitshow for me mentally. Breaking down in bathrooms, self harm, isolating myself, I felt like I was a stranger to my friends, and that they were strangers too. I discovered DSBM and it helped me a little, but this song, this song makes me breath. I let all my emotions go and that constant state of melancholy I feel, fades away slightly.

And it was unlike anything I heard.. I felt something in me move.... And THEN came Slipknot.... And I felt like I stumbled upon gold. I had a dream with this song, I only heard the whole song, nothing more
I was in a somewhat cloudy environment, it was night, I was alone, no one was with me.
Suddenly the environment begins to change the perspective, snow falls in small amounts the more time passed, the intensity of the snowfall was greater and the song "Gently" begins to sound strangely that only that song was heard. Suddenly a cosmic ray light came out in the sky (Those colorful lights that rarely appear in the sky) apart from the fact that the sky cleared a bit.
It was so relaxing because the atmosphere consisted of the Slipknot-Gently song.
I hope to dream it again :(
