"I'm gonna find a log here in a minute"...if I had a dollar...🤣 My dad stepped off a sand bar in hip boots when I was young and I laughed... I found out years later why we went home!! LoL
Its the sport of kings! Best time on the water you can have. You have to try it. seeing that first flight rip overhead is worth all of the the preparation. instant hook, and before long you are a duck hunter for life. but remember, conservation is key. any group you don't shoot will return in greater numbers next year. happy quackin!
We go all hens only, maybe even some gadwall decoys or mallard hens since they aren’t fully plumed up yet. Bright green wing drakes or blue wing drakes...we keep those in the sack. And YES ripples ripples ripples!
Just got back from opening and the ducks always change the plan on you! Yes agreed teal get down in the decoys! But this weekend there was a 25 mph wind they were getting in the decoys at first pass catching you by surprise no pass bys!
In most states teal are in eclipse plumage so 100 percent hen decoys for early season to match the birds. Size 6 or 7 steel for denser patterns on these small ducks. Teal typically inhabit very shallow water...exposed mud flats, 2 inches of water is prime for layout shooting out of a jet sled. Up here in Alaska , a couple thermocells help keep mosquitoes away on calm, warm days (our teal season starts Sept 1 and is primarily green wing teal).
Wish we had more teal than we do here in WV. We are not allowed to shoot them here, but the juices are flowing for hunting BAD by early September and we have to settle for geese!
Went scout a little on Mermentau River on Monday. Water is tremble smelling has dead fish all over. Hurricane really messed us up for teal season. I do hear good reports from the rice fields. BUt who can afford that.
John, you know how you can tell you should cut back on the food? Your waders have a zipper in the front! Haha Potlicker Jase shooting them off the water!
Let em work isn't a thing out in public, because 9/10 if we have ducks working us there's some working other groups and the first person to shoot will scatter every single duck in that area. So here in public we shoot when we can 🤣🤣
I must say the Duck Commander teal decoys are dang good. Very well done, low price and look like September teal. Happy buyer, highly recommend
Mark Steffen I agree. excellent looking Decoys. I bought six for $30 and that included shipping
Fishing this morning & saw 2 flocks of Blue Wing! Can’t wait 😎🤯🦆
What state
We were hog hunting yesterday and saw 3 different flights. Man. It’s happening!!!
I’ve never been duck hunting before seems fun!!
Teal hunting is especially fun. They’re plentiful, decoy easy, and great table fare (even if they are a bit small).
I'm not a duck hunter but hey, I learned a lot from Mr John Godwin just in this short video.

Always wondered why my waders were so wide up top. Fried crappie... It all makes sense now. Thanks Godwin!
Seems like the man's genuine got a good heart. even teaching us how to attract ducks to kill he makes it sound so loving and kind lol

When you say put jerk rig on the lead edge for big ducks. What u mean? Up wind in your spread?
So much interesting info & fantastic humor! I'll be thinking of you in the duck blind as the ducks fly past New York! Joan Mark from Upstate, NY!

I love the how to ones. What sort of pattern to spread them out in, in different situations, is where I need help the most.
He is 100% right by letting them work.
Can’t wait for teal season, almost time!

I learned a lot. Thanks!
Good Job

Easiest way to keep a jerk rig easy to deploy, use, and pack up: buy a cheap baitcast reel and spool it with 80lb test powerpro braided line
Godwin the duck hunting in middleTennessee is lousy. All but given up finding a place to hunt. Good to see Teal in your area. Cut em.
I mix up my decoys. The biggest farthest away, downsizing with the smallest within dropping distance from my shooting spot.
nice video. i luv hunting
Your so knowledgeable 🙌💥
JO IN VT 💕😄
Man said if you let the teal work they come in😂 my teal said “ oh more ducks bomb plane activated”
Godwin do your 18 wheeler sound
What's your opinion on using something like a pulsator by higdon or something similar?
What waders are you wearing?
Are this decoy’s Avian X?
What would you tell someone that is just starting into duck hunting?
The Teal mojo was trying to dive on you .
Add some mallards to the spread?
Are yall teal hunting north louisiana much?
Is there no concern for alligators while wading?
🙏
Hopefully I have water for teal don't look like it though
No electronics in Washington state
I want to duck hunt with you

Every other duck will light into a decoy spread too.
Yall ever kill a gwt during early teal season? All I ever killed in the handful of season that I got to hunt were bwt.
Godwin what deodorant do you use during duck season big boys need special duck deodorant or what??
Dood set up
Hmm didn't he say 3 weeks out before it opens. Lot of shots, no respect for poachers
The chronic wasting ad is pathetic
