I´m a woodwork teacher using this wonderful table saw several times a week. The only problem is to get spare parts to the machines from Kity due to the company closing down 10+ years ago because os bankruptcy...
Great ould saw, hard to beat some solid cast iron in the workshop. I'm fixing up a wadkin bgy3 sander at the moment
Really helpful videos. Just bought one of these after many hours of deliberation. Mine needs work too but all part of the fun. Thanks!
Glad it helped
This video was so helpful! Just bought one of these in a pile of bits with no manual.
Thank you!
You are welcome
Brilliant video John. Keep up the videos👍
Thanks Jack, I'll do my best to keep them coming.
That's amazing John :)
Great video, just bit the bullet seeing you and purchased my first sensible table saw the kity 619... looking forward to following your videos as know very little about carpentry 😁 well done great presentation
Its a good table saw, I had to put a bit of work into mine to get it right, I made a vid on restoring parts of it. There are links in the description of that video for where you can get the parts. Best of luck with your new saw and thanks for the comment!
@@JohnMcGrathManInShed Thanks, interestingly the seller says it's a 30 bore 260mm blade size and not the 250mm you specified although I had trouble finding the fine cutting blade as the 260 sizes.
@@battleboards Strange on my riving knife it says max 250mm, here is a link to the saws manual www.targetmanufacturing.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/kity-619-table-saw.pdf
Lost my left thumb a year ago on my table saw but that was a jobsite one cant see that happening with that beast, its a beauty . Score!!!! Be safe.
Sorry to hear that man.
I just had to buy a new table saw, mine was so old I couldn't get parts. I got it cheap had it 10 years , it was 15 years old when I got .
I have a kity 0618, similar to yours. How do I adjust the belt tension please? The blade now slows down with a heavy cut even with a new blade.
Thanks
Gordon
2 1/2 hp will be great. I have not seen a table saw with this number of features short of a commercial grade costing many thousands of US dollars.
I think you got quite a nice saw and like you said some love and care is mostly all that is needed.
By the way, I noticed your workbench in the background. Did you build it? I don’t see a video. I’m interested in that in addition to tracking your progress on the table saw.
I think you got a great saw.
Hi Robert, I did build the work bench I can do a video on it in the future. Thanks for watching.
Digging up this old thread John. Do you still use this saw if so do you get good results? One for sale at present and im currently looking to buy a decent saw.. thanks
Hi John, great job on the saw. I'm looking at buying buying one of these at the moment and shipping it across from UK. What kind of money did you give for your saw in original condition? If you don't mind me asking.
Hi JP, I paid 650 for it at the time. Might have been a bit much for it looking back.
Seen one for 500, is it worth it ? Or better with Mimaki 2712 I’m just starting framing
Do you still have the saw? How do it work out.for you? I’m looking at picking one up soon.
Cheers
Hi John,
Just bought a Kity 1619, do you know where I can find instructions for fitting the sliding table? Many thanks!
Good video John , I have the very same saw in my garage workshop and it’s been great. One thing thou I’m having trouble getting replacement blades 280mm I think , where did you get yours I’m located in London mind you. Wish I had the room you have there not enough room for the sliding table in my garage. Lol
kity is owned by scheppach now, you can get everything from them, also the german bladecompanies like bayerwald produce top quality blades for this saw
Hi John,
Nice job well done. Would you have any idea what these cost when you could buy from brand new. I'm looking at a used one on eBay but don't know what I should go up to.Thanks Regards Phil.
from what I know Scheppach make this model now, I believe this is it www.poolewood.co.uk/product/scheppach-precisa-3-0-sawbench-cw-2-0m-sliding-carriage-table-width-extension-replaces-kity-619-1901302901-p1/
If you have any tips on table saws let me know in the comments, did I buy a lemon or not?
Dont take the guards off😂😂😂😂
Hi John, A friend of mine saw this machine at a woodworking show about 25 years ago, and within 6 months he asked me to keep my eyes open for one.
I was a shopfitter at the time working all over the country, I was on my way back home one Friday, I live in Notts, I had been working in the Smoke (London), I knew of a woodwork machinery shopin Northampton so I called in.
They had just been to a woodworking show where they had been demonstrating the 1619, I made some enquiries about price, I rang my friend and told him he could have the saw as it stood, with sliding table and two side extensions for £800, the machine NEW would have been £1250, so being in the right place at the right time, saved him £450.
Sadly, my friend passed away unexpected in 2006, to my surprise, he had left ALL his woodworking machinery and tools to me, I am STILL using the 1619, I dont use the sliding table very often, when I put it on, it seems to catch on the table.
Would it be possible to do a video on how to adjust the brackets that hold the arm to the table and also how to adjust ALL the bearings that guide the table on the rail?
I think you did a good job of the two videos that you have already done on the 1619, explained everything in easy to understand jargon.
Keep up the good work, its a thumbs up and subscribe from me.
I forgot to mention I have got one of the angle finder boxes, had it for about 7 years, brilliant for adjusting table saw blades and mitre saw blades, anyone who reads this comment I suggest you get one, available on e-bay and amazon.
@@alandobb950 Hi Alan, I have done a bit of restoration work on it, I have replaced all the bearings and rollers on the cross cut carriage and now it is sweet as a nut and glides beautifully. I have made a video on it if you want to check it out. Thanks for sharing the story and for watching.
Hello John where did you buy the saw if you don't mind I'm looking for 1 myself thanks
I bought it second hand found it on adverts.ie
Hi my motor on my 619 sticks for a second or so as it starts as if a bearing is dry, do you have any ideas on how to stop this? Thanks
The bearings may need to be replaced , so it might be a case of pulling the motor and taking it to be serviced. Check and make sure the belt and pulleys are ok, check it by hand and see if you can feel where it is binding (unplugged of course)
Is it noisy when its running does it sound rough? If its a bearing you should be able to hear it.
