Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great videos. Love this build!
One thing about the bolts most of the audience may not know, they are NOT phillips screws, they are JIS screws (like the set screws in Japanese car brake rotors), I knew this and had a set of Vessel Megadora specifically for this, highly recommend.
Beautifully done as always Colton, thank you for these videos, parts support, and just being a very reliable go-to on my quest to get my RB up and running. I also used the N1 with Reimax gears + backplate. Runs beautifully, and like a literal well-oiled machine! 🤘😎
good catch! i haven't heard any one talk about this in years. all the " Phillips" screws on Nissan's and most JDM cars are JIS. but a standard Phillips sizes can be made to work in most cases!
This is awesome! Just in time for my bottom end reassembly! I just got my Nitto 2.8 short block back from the machine shop. I have to remove my brace, install oil pump and all the goodies, throw the brace back on and set up the oil pan and install the Quaife front diff and set up those clearances! This is AMAZING information! Keep the updates coming!
such a good informative channel! glad I found it!
With a factory Gtr pan and N1 pump with rimax gears, what kind of power can that oiling system handle
we have taken a set up similar to this into the 800hp range!
Thanks for the very good and useful video. Helps those of us who are doing this first time more to be more confident we are doing it the right way.
I just installed my tomei oil pump, using the PRP tool also. Its quite tight though, PRP tool was a tight fit to the crank and once installed I have a max of 5.90 thou clearance, 0.15mm each side. Is this too tight and will it present any problems?
Thank you for the feed back! happy to help! as for oil pump clearance, a general rule you could follow is, if the oil pump gear to crank drive clearance is larger than your main journal oil clearance at the front you will have no issues with binding or contact. again always verify, check horizontal and vertical with feeler blades to be sure.
Did you find inner gear has more play against cranks flats than the oem inner gear?
My reimax did so i had to grow the crank nose diameter to have a sligthly less play than the oem gears, not sure i did the right thing though.
They vary so much for collar to collar and even crank to crank, a safe rang is .006"-.010" clearance
@@boost.factory in my case it is a new oem long flat crank, many builders seemed to have a concern with the amount of play being the culprit for the inner gear braking, i ended up with a clearance just a bit less than the oem inner gear.
so spline drive or standard style gear better?
neither is "better" they both do the same thing. hundreds of engines use flat drive. but spline drive is more forgiving of errors, but requires proper set up and doesn't allow for setting the clearance. it really more so comes down to indexing the pump to the block correctly. either or can be set up to provide good reliability.
