Thank you so much for your teaching Teachers...
I've learnt ocean of vocabularies from your podcasts.
Actually, my friends introduced my top pick restaurant to me. They stumbled across this restaurant down by the lake. My memories will never fly away since the vary first time we hung out. The owner set up shop since 2010 and they put their effort into their restaurant. It's not flashy but natural. You'll see an authentic paintings, pictures and you can read the books from an old bookshelf. The food are so yummy that I can die for it. My go to is Innlay Vermicelli Soup with fried fish and I suppose it's hand down the best in our home town. I'm into the restaurant as it's tuck away, fair price for food and we can avoid from disturbtions . The vibe is super laid back as well and any excuse I often go back with my friends. I appreciate my friends for their excellent find.
    Thanks millions! My great teachers......🤩🤩

Wow well done using so many of the sentences and words from the episode! We both love fried fish as well - and local, laid-back spots always have a way better atmosphere than super fancy restaurants too ;)

Hi Kat, Hi Mark, my new favourite words that l've learned today 23:22 are :
    My top pick,
    Hands down,
    Nice find,
To die for, French people would say "c'est mortel" or "c'est une tuerie".
    Thank you !

Undoubtedly, this podcast was quite useful. I love eating as well and Turkish cousine is pretty rich there are a lot of things to die for ❤ as for the restaurant, my top pick is Poyraz cağ kebab. It is a very low key, unassuming one, only doing cag kebabı from Erzurum province of Turkiye. Whenever you go, you will see the owner there preparing your food, coming to your table, giving you a special attention and askimg for your comment on the food you are eating. He may also cook it to your taste, like medium or well cooked. People come eat and go, they dont spend too much chattering after the dinner. Just tea on the house then you are done ❤❤

Thanks for sharing your favorite spot - that place sounds great! It's cool that you also get special attention from the owner as well. We'll have to try it next time we're in Turkey!

Hey guys! Just starting to listen to this new video ..(while I’m cooking 😂) one question: shouldn’t it be: my absolutely favorite restaurant ? Or maybe it’s the way it’s used even though the grammar is not right?

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  9 дней назад +1

Good question - it is kind of a weird grammar thing!
It only works in this combination.
      ❌ My complete favourite
      ❌ My total favourite
      We can only say:
      ✅"My absolute favourite."
      ✅ My real favourite.
      ✅ My true favourite.
Sorry I can't give a deeper explanation - it's just one of those things!

What ?! You’re so kind ! Thank you so much and I totally get it now ! It’s the same as when you explained that in: “ it was a relaxed day “ we don’t follow the rule and say: a relaxing day …you’re just the best! Thank you for taking the time to respond!❤❤❤
