I found that the best way to load portals out of 500m drone range is to select resonator as if you tried to upgrade it. The issue with P8 portals might be walked around by making this trick with other portal nearby - all portals you "interacted with" will then show up. I'll try to check how does it work with enemy portals

This video is almost as lame as RUclips. Asked for how to do a drone hack and this in depth bullsh*t that gives you a bunch of crap not needed . Unfortunately this is only thing that populates looking up just how to simply do a drone hack. This lame video has got to be the worst teaching video ever. If anyone knows simple straight forward simple directions please advise

If somebody comes up with an iitc plugin where you can select a portal as the starting point and then it will plan the optimum route for the furthest distance from that portal that you can get that would be amazing coz I'm trying to plan my own and I keep getting stuck xD

Key has to be out of locker/capsule & a jiggling map can also help

This is legit my city issue. All the portals are divided by wards and there are lack of connections pokestops and portals. Almost a dead zone between both parts of town.

I think I can write the basics in python for that. All I need is a iitc bookmark file of all the portals you want to include. Then draw circles. And let program check if they Collide, then add portal to path and include in list allready visited. I'll give it a small try if it's viable.
Just a GREAT video. Q: Are the long jumps still possible? I have the impression that the scanner now calculates the jump distance and cuts off jumps longer then about 600m. Can you please comment or maybe update? ThanX (Agent Nasgorian)!

The problem you are trying to solve a variant of a problem known as The Traveling Salesman. It is from a class of problems known as NP Hard. Any algorithmic solution will be non-trivial
If we want to visit every portal with the drone, with few wasted hops, that's a variant of the Hamiltonian path problem, which is NP-hard.
But the problem attempted here is finding the most distant pair of nodes in a graph, then the shortest path problem, both of which are doable in polynomial time.
So yes, maximising drone hacks is difficult, but not maximising drone longest flight

I don't think it's a plugin, it's the DEBUG data tiles layer.

When I discovered you could jump from Portal A to Portal B, but then could no longer see Portal A I gave up. Three times I ended up in dead ends because I couldn't get back out of area.
Get keys and use the key trick :)
@@57Cell At that point my drone was an hour's drive away. I had to drop it in the city. Portals are too sparse where I live.

It's not a mod for the game itself. That would be against the rules.
It's a mod for IITC, which is itself a mod for the web-based Ingress intel map.

I got my Drone stuck in Adelaide once, I moved my drone, then couldn't move it back to the original Portal even!
That happened to me, too! Until I went back and got a key...
I think they "fixed" the key thing to get to further portals as well. I remember getting a "portal too far away" message, and now when I try the portals disappear when I load into Drone net.
