It’s so, so annoying that Koraidon is fighting type not fire type. If it was fire it wouldn’t be afraid of burn and maybe collision course would be fire and I wouldn’t need flareblitz to match Miraidon’s damage output. I wish I liked any of the special attacking restricteds because burn and intimidate just inherently limit physical attackers in terms of item and Tera (fire to prevent burn). I know I can’t change anything I just wanted to vent. I really do not like this format, I want reg h back. Also, there should be a special attack intimidate
If we get a fire type koraidon: Scarlet and Violet would just be Black and White but near objectively better because reshiram and zekrom sucks I think a fire koraidon would be so much unhealthier competitively since fire has no natural immunities, and a fire type sun setter with those stats and sun having the 1.5x multiplier compared to electric terrain’s 1.3x would be almost game warping (only saving grace is that koraidon is a physical attacker meaning it’s forced to run clear amulet) Buuuuut calyrex exist so idk
@ yeah I realize it would be black and white again, but if they were willing to double up on electric/dragon why not do both? That said I do get your points as far as fire not having any immunities (other than flash fire but still). Maybe it would be too broken, but I’d rather the one I like better be broken lol
@@mattf315 I feel u 100%, koraidon has been the first box legendary since platinum in which I genuinely love the design of. Not saying the other box legends are bad or anything, but none of them have moved me in terms of design nearly as much as giratina, until koraidon came to life
@@CloverBells Yeah, I’ll probably just wait until May, and just watch videos and stuff on this format like your channel. Maybe I’ll give Kyurem-White a shot, that’s the only special attacker I like. Regardless, great video!
I am testing Dialga and it is definitely under explored. Draco Meteor spam feels strong with Galarian Slowking. Lando-T and Mienshao also works well with it.
Have you seen Choice Band Koraidon, though? It's what got me to top 100 on Showdown Ladder. Even if it does need support, it functions the same as Specs Miraidon. It can be a terrifying sweeper, or it can U-Turn and bring in an ally. It feels so much better to use than Clear Amulet.
Again, that's why U-Turn is there. Mine's quick enough to outspeed max speed boosted Flutter under TW, so I haven't really found it to be that much of an issue. Ogerpon-Hearthflame and Raging Bolt are ideal for counters. The attack boost from Band that Amulet doesn't provide feels so good, too. It makes tera fire Flare Blitz pretty much a delete button. (It deletes Luca's team, too. I've done the calcs and battled that team so many times. Choice Band rocks!)
Hi , do you think that Miradion with soak pellipper can work ? Also I am thinking of adding landorus wirh accurate sandsear storm .. any idea for remaining 3 slots ? Also congrats on 10K :)
Thank you! I think that's very niche and sounds like a ladder gimmick/something for the GC. It's not necessary and not consistent in an open team sheet tournament
Who would you use as the last slot on that koraidon team you were cooking? I was thinking of rillaboom for terrain but I could just use ice spinner on chien pao. I like the hat by the way! :)
I was really hoping they would keep legendaries out for a while. The entire format warps around them and I lived the brewing that was happening in the last format.
It's just like professional sports. You have a star player and your team is built around said star while having a few pieces for matchups against others
in case anyone is really on the fence over mewtwo vs calyrex (lmao), keep in mind that even though mewtwo has better bulk than calyrex shadow rider, um, no, it doesnt. if youre willing to settle for mewtwos lower speed and special attack, then you can match and even beat them with calyrex while having enough evs left over to make it bulkier than mewtwo as well.
it's crazy how groudon and kyogre got even more absurdly good when they got new forms in gen 6, but when game freak gave dialga and palkia new forms in PLA after being mediocre for years, they _still_ aren't very good they deserved better than the hand they were dealt, man. maybe they'll be decent in GS cup (they most likely won't)
The problem with Kyogre is that thr damage output isn't reliable sometimes. Once you take damage your water spout is diminished and your origin pulse can miss. Calyrex doesn't have this problem or the terapagos. The results from tours prove that. We gave Terapagos S tier back in the original Regulation G but we quickly discovered that A tier is correct. Not nearly as oppressive as the other ones since you also have to tera it and set it up first but still very good
And then put that av ice rider in snow lol... I do think snow will be explored a bit more especially with lando returning and scarfed ninetales being a thing now. Gets helping hand too
True, nerfed the base stats, nerfed the ability, nerfed the signature move. Only things it still has going for it is the typing, the speed tier and its design.
I definitely agree with your tier list, the only thing I will disagree with you is the Rayquaza placement Rayquaza is a D tier mon,all the D tier mons you put are also outclassed by non restricted mons
Tera normal e speed is not great, but you can 1 shot a few things and it gives you immunity to the calyrex shadow rider. And you can at least remove weather from pelipper, Kyogre, and Koraidon teams. Thats already way better than the other D tier stuff
It is strong yes and we mentioned all those sets and how to build around it. But it's results haven't been nearly as good as the S and A tier mons and water spout only gets you so far before an origin pulse miss. The data tells us B tier.
I think Iron Hands can be good on more archetypes than Miraidon and Calyrex-Ice/Shadow. I've testing a bit with Zacian-Crwoned, Iron Hands, Urshifu-Rapid-Strikes and Incineroar and I think it could be pretty good. Just need some more for the Calyrex-Shadow and Koraidon matchups.
I wont be playing or probably even watching much since we are just going back to legendary spam. See yall when they go back to 0 legendary pokemon allowed in vgc. This is my opinion that any and all legendary pokemon should not be allowed in any form of competitive pokemon.

What Tera is generally standard on Caly Ice? Fire to prevent the burn and resist Fire?
Thats one of them, yes. Dragon and Grass are others, along with water.
I think you read my mind haha. My list is almost the same as yours, I just have zama and shadow rider flipped around 👀
Yeah I think a lot of this matches what others have put out. 4 months of the format will do this
I was just wondering if there are any pokemon that you should look at specificaly when looking at offense and bulk?
restricted wise? Just look at the stats. Calyrex Ice has it. Miraidon too. Same with Koraidon and Kyogre
Who would you use as the last slot on that koraidon team you were cooking? I was thinking of rillaboom for terrain but I could just use ice spinner on chien pao.

Probably just tornadus

which rental?
choice scarf tailwind calyrex shadow with a decorate boost haunts my nightmares

@therapistivy correct!
My porygon2 has obliterated many of those op pos mons
@@Brad-pc3bi Now bring it to a tournament 😎
I have also found that Tornadus when paired next to Landorous Incarnate gives Koraidon some trouble.
Even when Raging Bolt is next to it.
If you just protect first and click an electric move it should be fine
@CloverBells I thought the same, until I started running into loads of Tera Ground Tornadus's for some reason lol.

Kyogre has insane damage output. I think its underestimated here. Terap is a 100% s-tier for me too.

we'll have to wait and see!
I think you can pair Gdon with a Indeedee and just beat all 3 of the modt popular mons Miraidon - Rilla and incin.
Groudon doesn't have a problem with Miraidon. It's the calyrex ice rider teams. Even worse if they have pelipper.
Weather ball Raging bolt it is!
