19:16 - I believe you calculated this without factoring in Intimidate. In the damage calculator, there's now an option to toggle Intimidate on or off when calculating. This means you survive Close Combat even without Intimidate active, which is even better!
I'm speed running Pokemon Shield for the first time to get Ice rider 😭 Other ice riders keep slaying my rain team on pokemon showdown... If you can't beat them, join them
@@CloverBellsmy zero attack Chi-Yu today took about half an hour. Currently speedrunning violet for a zero speed Blood Moon because I fear being lazy and using my 2 speed one will screw me over. Getting another Miraidon and Ogerpon will be nice!
How would you recommend approaching teambuilding? do you try to have an answer for everything or do you just wanna bring a stick so big the opponent needs to find an answer for you? I feel like in reg G there is so much busted stuff that it feels impossible to have a good answer for everything.
The idea in Regulation G is to centralize around your restricted. Dedicated 1-2 slots to make the restricted stronger and then those last slots for matchups into other restricteds
What are EV bumps? I started playing VCG recently and your videos and teams have been a huge help. Specially regarding ev spreads since I think it requires a vast knowledge of all the pokemons or at least meta threats, I’m barely learning their abilities and we’re now switching soon to a new reg haha. Anyways, thank you, I appreciate these type of videos so I can get a better idea of how to spread the EVs
Whenever you have a nature, one of your EVs gets boosted by 10% and one gets lowered by 10%, however since EVs don't work with decimal points, that just means that every 10 normal EVs, you get one extra EV from the nature, thus we call hitting that exact number the "EV bump", you can easily see where the EV bump is on showdown as that's the one point, where getting the next EV gives you 2 points instead of 1
I made a whole video on it in August so check back there, but here: In pokemon, when you invest your vitamins to increase a stat, usually it goes up by 1 point. However, in the natured stat that you chose (ex: adamant), you'll see a "bump" in that stat only when you invest EVs. On Pokemon Showdown, there are 3 distinct points within the 252 bar where the stat will increase by 2 points instead of one. Look at Heatran and make it modest. You'll see that as you move the slider and get it to +76 the special attack increases by 2 points instead of one! Amazing! From here, the rule is that for every 80 EVs invested after the first bump, you'll see it again. So +156 and +236 investment in special attack you'll see the 2nd and 3rd bump. This is only 1 example for 1 pokemon. Another Pokemon may see the bumps elsewhere in their natured stat. Hopefully this helps!
I cant recomend his video "What are "EV Bumps" in Competitive Pokemon? " from 3 months ago enough. In this video he also provides some examples. Probably the most important video on VGC i have seen
@@CloverBells Yeah, I paused the video to comment this before you actually mentioned the video you had uploaded regarding this topic, so, I’ll be taking a look soon since it’s an interesting topic. It’s incredible how “complex” competitive pokemon can be haha, I feel like the entry barrier for newcomers is kinda high as there are not a lot of RUclipsrs with updated content on this basic principles. Not to mention that English is not my native language, in Spanish there is even less content so, again, appreciate videos like these. Thanks
So normally the YT account I use for recording floats around 1400-1500 but because this is now Regulation G and it's new it is literally starting from 0 lol.
Had so much fun with reg H, I dont like these formats where everyone will just play the same 10 pkmn and nothing else seems viable due to the powercreep of those 10. Urshifu alone doesnt want to make me play this format because of the protect stuff. Idk this format is kinda bad, hasnt got much creativity imho, has been arround once, will be again, is pretty similar to other prior formats. We 100% need more reg H formats, just for the sake of removing the powercreep and make more varied cool stuff viable. I guess I'll be around again once we get another format like that, in the meantime, glhf to you all with the reg G format!
I always like the first one or two formats of a new game the best. when none of the restricted are allowed yet and we need to figure out new strats with the new pokemon available in the game. all regualtions after are just getting stronger and stronger.

I've been waiting for this since reg G came back in showdown, thanks for making this video!
more to come with others soon!

good choice
I did the same a few months ago. Thankfully it only took about 20 minutes to reset for one with 1 speed iv (same stat as 0 speed at level 50!)

Do you think shadow rider still strong in regulation g?
👍
Of course! The best lol
Why there is no shadow rider in top 8 last worlds
@@CharvyZaratebc everyone was prepared for it
@@CharvyZarate Because the best players in the world were ready for it there. But it has plenty of top cuts and regional wins
what restricted would you pair with sneasler?
Miraidon + Electric Seed Sneasler could work
I don't know if I would use sneasler just yet!
I'm doing the exact same but for shadow rider lol
okay
Ice rider 🗣️🔥
yes yes!
