I was just thinking last night that if Groudon’s main issue is missing p-blades, damage mitigation would be critical to ensuring it has more chances to land. AV on Groudon plus the damage mitigation and redirection from Gouging and Volc had to have been significant factors in the team’s success.

are you going to make a team building video for groudon as well? I really like the idea of the groudon and tailwind roaring moon core, adding flutter mane, raging bolt, entei or fuegro and then chien pao for the last slot. What's your take on that team? Idk how messy that would be, since I'm pretty new to team building and the vgc in general

what are ev bumps

I'm VERY new to VGC and am looking to make a Caly team so this is very helpful! One thing I really want to try out though is a balance team with Indeedee-F/Expanding force. I was looking at team 5, and thinking I could maybe replace Rilla, as Ogerpon and Incin kind of cover most of what it already does, and Indeedee is going to be setting terrain for me. I realize that makes Caly super weak to Wide Guard, so might consider replacing Nasty Plot with Shadow Ball... or just make sure to take out Pelipper first. Thoughts?

I do have one question however, with the first team it is really hard to manage the matchup against dondozo teams that have been going around a lot (especially the body press variants), do you have any tips on adjustments in play or teambuilding that could be made to handle those matches better? For Calyrex's EVs, especially for the nasty plot spell tag sets, is 252, 252 the most optimal? I get that you don't take life orb chip, but at the same time, having no physical bulk feels like it should leave calyrex vunerable to priority moves paired with strong physical attacks. That being said, no single physical attack besides Ogerpon hearthflame tera fire ivy cudgel or urshifu rapid with mystic water threatens an OHKO, and I doubt a couple of extra EVs would make too much of a difference to stop Ogerpon, and Urshifu is fairly uncommon with mystic water. I would love to hear your thoughts on this as I am building a Calyrex team in a similar style to the one with Ogerpon Hearthflame which Marco Silva piloted in worlds (also similar to your ogerpon H team.
