I like the meta analysis. This is the kind of learning we don’t get anywhere else except with you. This is why I love it here, you’re a great player, but you want everyone else to improve too. That kind of righteousness is hard to come by. Keep on rocking Thatsa! We love you brother!
Mewtwo is C-D tier. As the saying goes “Jack of all trades, master of none” and you need to be extremely good at something to be viable in a restricted format. At least, this is my opinion.
I’m currently teambuilding for reg G, and something I noticed, related to the beginning of your video, is weather is far easier to manipulate than terrain. Rillaboom and indeedee aren’t as replaceable as a weather setter. So Miraidon having passive terrain control makes a huge difference.
Such a cool and interesting video, was captivated all along and loved the more strategic approach with positioning, tanking etc... So much more in depth in my opinion. Would love to see the same gor battle stadium, even more so since there's so little content on the subject around.
Clear Amulet is only beneficial for blocking Intimidate, which is something I can just remove by pivoting in and out with U-Turn. Band allows KOs on mons like Iron Hands or tera fairy Miraidon. The extra damage is more useful than the Intimidate block.
i honestly think pachirisu might be a really good teammate for miraidon. it has volt absorb, helping hand, super fang, and follow me, meaning it can power up miraidons electric moves, including discharge and parabolic charge, deal big chip damage to anything miraidon hasnt hit yet, or redirect damage into itself. with fairy tera, it can hard wall raging bolt and opposing miraidons without dazzling gleam. with flying tera, youre immune to your only old weakness, your ability makes you immune to one of your new weaknesses, and it opens up room to do some interesting stuff with discharge/parabolic charge from mirai next to pachi and garchomp/ursaluna/landorus, and earthquake next to tera flying pachi (tera flying mirai probably isnt worth it tho). the double ground weakness is a reasonable concern, especially with monsters like groudon and both forms of landorus back in the meta, but if youre running miraidon, you should already be backing some really good ways to deal with ground mons.
For some reason, I went from elite in Reg H to super terrible in Reg G. I’ve surprisingly played with Restricted Seasons very little so far. My best luck was basically porting a Reg H team of mine and slapping a Restricted in the middle. This will be a video I rewatch a lot!
Palkia is 100% best played on a Gravity team. The consistency isn't just valuable, but it makes Palkia fun to play and the gravity enables silly strategies that Palkia can really make use of.
I agree with the take on Terapagos, honestly feel like it's going to really pop off in double restricted for sure. Reg G is a little tough. I would probably put it in A tier but I get your take after testing it out. I really like the choice specs version the best in reg G but when that double restricted starts oh man look out.
Great vid as always! Yes please on the meta stuff, would love to see your views on the meta as it progresses. Also yes please on thr tier list for non restricteds!!
Something about the Terapagos-Miraidon MU that I think explains Terapagos's relatively low usage is how Stellarpagos's ability works. Denying terrain is extremely powerful, but not if the Miraidon uses Volt Switch on that turn to restart the terrain counter. Stellarpagos can only remove the terrain once, but Miraidon's highest performances come from its strength to keep Electric Terrain up despite the popularity of other kinds of Terrain control.
Koraidon is a crash out mon. You just wanna nuke one or two big threats on the opponents team. I used to play it conservatively but it's best on hyper offense. Imo Koraidon doesn't want to be protected or stay around, he wants to blow up some guys for you. Here for a good time not a long time
As far as zamazenta goes I think the best teams to run it on are like MDB's worlds team. It is balance in the sense that it has a fwg core, but it's not a "slow it down" pivot balance like the incin caly shadow teams. It's usually pretty aggressive and the team usually has a lot of priority spam (grassy glide, aqua jet, sucker punch, usually a tera normal espeed user). Not saying a set-up iron defense team can't do well, but I just find from my testing that it is best as a super aggressive damage trading mon. I do agree it is the most neutral restricted tho. Its worst matchups are stuff like lunala and ho-oh. Mons that resist or are immune to it and cant be knocked out easily. But those mons, as you said in the video, are fairly niche,

The real reason to use Zekrom is to get the ribbon for winning in Master ball rank on it
Like always a very interesting video. As someone who didn't play regulation g before, but did follow/watched it i really appreciate this & your on it. I really like Miraidon, Calyrex Shadow, Kyogre & Dialga...so I'll try making a team with one of them. 😅😂
To buff Mewtwo I wish it had an ability that let it take advantage of its deep move pool better. Like, idk, a 15% damage modifier buff to its non-stab moves? Or they could give it a signature set up move that mimicked how Amnesia worked in gen 1 (basically a double calm mind) as a reference to its roots at a time when the special attack and defense were combined. I wouldn't give it both, but I think giving it one of those two things would be cool.
@manchovieclemmons2380 Geomancy buffs speed as well. Which is inarguebaly the most important stat in the game. Thats a double quiver dance. And its on a mon thats fundamentally more broken then Mewtwo. Even a mewtwo that can get +2 sp def and + 2 spa atk is below both calys and miriadon, easily tbh, as a restricted.
How can you put caly shadow above caly ice. Can’t agree, last worlds showed how it went for caly shadow. I know it won more regionals but still imo they are at least both s tier. Anyway great video mate
@ Valid point but most successfull caly-s were sitrus berry draining kiss sets, that needed extra turn to set up nasty plot. Both calys got their strenghts in other areas. More items u can splash on shadow, more diverse approach to teams with caly ice trick room or balance. I just think they just equally good, but still leaning more to ice if i had to choose
I think zacian groudon, lunala, koraidon and eternatus are B tier and everything else should be moved to C tier. Like none of those mons are cutting it tbh unless lugia with comfey spam and the kyurem forms need snow to work it feels like
just give him psychic surge and let's make it the busted mon it's supposed to be. no different than kyogre setting rain or miraidon setting electric terrain
I fins Zacian is low A tier it many good match ups. The problem is when you're playing Zacian, you need to play consistently and don't tilt from play rough miss😢
Single target only mons that arent Zenta really struggle in this format with the surplus of Fake Out+Redirection mons. Just my opinion as a player who used Zacian in multiple events last season.
I would rate Ho Oh at C tier Entei sadly outclasses it,Ho-Oh is forced to use Clear Amulet most of the time With Entei you get to run Choice Band or AV,the opportunity cost with Ho-Oh isn't worth it
I can try to help. I just fiexed your first team but feel free to post this one on the submission post when you get it ready. I also have one Ho-oh idea that I almost brought to worlds ill be posting soon

Next Gen, it needs to be able to hit Dark types IMO
Thats completly fair. I still really like it though but I see exactly what you are saying.
Ngl, i had the same thought process as thatsaplusone. Mewtwo is "probably" c tier. But thats my goat, so he gets b tier from me 😂
A Jack of all trade is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.
@ not in Pokémon 😂
I used to be subbed to the patreon and I altered a version of one your lugia teams to get 3rd at a local. Super underrated mon
Lugia busted!

We actually talked about that on strea mright before the "video" part of this video starts.

Would love to see the same gor battle stadium, even more so since there's so little content on the subject around.
I've been using Band Koraidon ever since Reg G started again in Showdown, and gotta say, it carries. Was able to get to top 100 with it.
Bo1 or Bo3?
Why not clear Amulet
Mainly BO1 since there's no regionals near me, but I sometimes do BO3, and it's put in more work than Clear Amulet has
Clear Amulet is only beneficial for blocking Intimidate, which is something I can just remove by pivoting in and out with U-Turn. Band allows KOs on mons like Iron Hands or tera fairy Miraidon. The extra damage is more useful than the Intimidate block.
@@acegamez2564 how about tours like victory road and that
This is actually super useful to help make a team around and understand what you’re most likely to see and understand the key threats
This is really useful for those just starting to VGC. Thank you.
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the videos! Every single one is educational in a different way! 😄🤘🏽 Hope to see you at San Antonio regionals again!
Not this year. That was the one regional I wanted to go to as I really like the riverwalk but sadly it just wasnt in the budget.
For some reason, I went from elite in Reg H to super terrible in Reg G. I’ve surprisingly played with Restricted Seasons very little so far. My best luck was basically porting a Reg H team of mine and slapping a Restricted in the middle. This will be a video I rewatch a lot!
Bunch of cool content with exercises to help you get better at Restricted formats! Aiming for 1 a week!
Been loving Koraidon and Entei combo, but can’t wait for double restriction with it and Lunala
Hey man, great video. Thank you so much for taking the time to do stuff like this so I know it’s time consuming and can be hard. 🙌🏿
Thank you for the support!
Palkia is 100% best played on a Gravity team. The consistency isn't just valuable, but it makes Palkia fun to play and the gravity enables silly strategies that Palkia can really make use of.

Specs is my favorite set for REg G too.
I didn’t realize Lugia was so fast. I’m definitely gonna have to give him a try
Give it a try with cloak!
You ever do ranked battle singles? It seems your singles channel is focused on random link battles, right?
We do ranked pretty much every other day. That’s what all of those mono teams are from.
Look at what power creep has done to my poor boys :(
DLC pay to win
cooked up a crazy koraidon team that im planing to bring to euic hope to show it off in the next tourment
Great vid as always! Yes please on the meta stuff, would love to see your views on the meta as it progresses.

I love the tier list videos
Thank you!
Great in depth video for VGC. Reg G tier list for BSS would be amazing!
Coming soon!

Truer worlds have never been spoken.
Did I step in a time portal where we went back a letter? Why do I keep seeing Reg G stuff
They’re switching back to Reg G come January.
That’s the next format
@ to think I expected them to just keep going up the alphabet. Maybe double restricted? boring 😕
Double restricted will be the format for next worlds.
are paradox mons legal? yeah right
They are. They just aren’t restricteds so they aren’t on this list. You can use as many as you want.
Like always a very interesting video.
As someone who didn't play regulation g before, but did follow/watched it i really appreciate this & your on it.
I really like Miraidon, Calyrex Shadow, Kyogre & Dialga...so I'll try making a team with one of them. 😅😂
I wonder if weezing and calyrex Ice would work, maybe it can free up clear amulet slot for caly, beat mirai by denying terrain?

No geomancy please. Anything but that
@manchovieclemmons2380 Geomancy buffs speed as well.
I am alredy having hadache thinking in a giratina team, you convinced me that it might have some ninche
Mewtwo is S tier on my heart , I love ur channel keep up the good work ❤
I used mewtwo in a tour today. It did alright.
@ that’s plus one 👑
I’ve lost to too many tera ground zacians to believe it’s don’t use
And how many of those were in tournaments?
@ true; they were all in best of one ranked 🤣
So my point stands. It might be useable. But if it doesnt exist in real tours it might as well not exist.
How can you put caly shadow above caly ice. Can’t agree, last worlds showed how it went for caly shadow. I know it won more regionals but still imo they are at least both s tier. Anyway great video mate
Caly Ice is a Caly Shadow with the requirement to get speed control first. Thats honestly how I see it.
My tera fairy alolan raichu loves running into a Miraidon lead.
My 2 favorites are ho-oh and Rayquaza, I run protect aggressive ho-oh with clear amulet he's already tanky and has regenerator no need for racover
I think zacian groudon, lunala, koraidon and eternatus are B tier and everything else should be moved to C tier. Like none of those mons are cutting it tbh unless lugia with comfey spam and the kyurem forms need snow to work it feels like
100% fair take. Maybe we make the B and C tiers bigger in the next list.
I was today years old when I found out Mewtwo got Hurricane. Will I ever run it? No. But it is cool to know.
It was actually used a decent amount on it in sword and sheild. Turned into Max Airstream!
@ I was too distracted using Max Airstream Lugia to even notice Mewtwo could do it too haha
Can’t you only use one restricted in the new regulation?
Mewtwo should get an ability that doubles speed under psychic terrain, fixed
Or sp atk in my opinion
@darkknight155 speed always better
just give him psychic surge and let's make it the busted mon it's supposed to be. no different than kyogre setting rain or miraidon setting electric terrain
@scottcrysel if you give him speed it becomes a glass cannon, the fastest expanding force spammer,if you give him psychic surger becomes support
That would be nuts lol
I fins Zacian is low A tier it many good match ups. The problem is when you're playing Zacian, you need to play consistently and don't tilt from play rough miss😢

@THATSAplusONE Dragon energy regidrago here I come lol 🤣
I would rate Ho Oh at C tier
Entei sadly outclasses it,Ho-Oh is forced to use Clear Amulet most of the time
With Entei you get to run Choice Band or AV,the opportunity cost with Ho-Oh isn't worth it
I would watch more META analysis content than actual gameplay. I use VGC videos for teambuilding ideas
57:02 He got Close combat
Ice rider SSSS
Ho oh my boi lol you seen my ho oh team
Its viable. People just take you to time.
@THATSAplusONE yup also may I get team fixing or team analysis? I am cooking up something heated but would love your thoughts not ho oh
