Problem with tune boxes is usually they need tweaked to work right, could be overboosting/underboosting and bang EML comes on.
No problems with Renntech. Actually the car is insane now!
Had tuning box on my CLA45. No issues whatsoever. Had same tuning box reprogrammed for my Range Rover... No issues whatsoever. Maybe you just have fucked car.

No worries, surprised you didn't call the tuning box company for support, they're usually very helpful and can diagnose quite easily. I had an engine light come on once on my CLA45 but that was a faulty tuning box loom, which was my fault, as I left part of the loom touching the engine, and the heat of the engine melted straight through it 🙄

@@LaurieBenjamin it was a DTUK FSR+ box that I originally bought for the CLA. DTUK then Firmware flashed it for me when I got the Range Rover and I bought a new loom to fit. All software done remotely.
He’s talking about the jb4 .. their considered the best in the business, I have the TDI tuning and very happy with it! Big difference in the power gain.

Tuning boxes are meant to work without any form of remapping. If you map your car even once to a stage 1, you can't use a tuning box. You do one or the other. It's simple you can't have your cake and eat it. 😅

Wish I knew if it was a simple OBD II plug in one or an under the hood box. We’d then know who’s is was. My Mercedes guy will only install Renntech tunes because his MB dealer will still honor the warranty.
He said connecting 3 sensors. Thats underhood.

i just bought a used cla 45 two months ago. today I noticed the renntech ecu piggyback upgrade, but the dealer failed to inform me it was tuned, when i purchased the PPI. i think they missed it and it makes me wonder how good the PPI was... anyway apparently I have the tune. car drives great.

Hey bro My Renntech piggyback made my car act all up too, it was going into limp mode and eventually shut my engine off. I now removed it and no problems,
